Of course you think Pitchfork is garbage, they gave Eminem's last two albums bad reviews. And USA Today respectable? To who? Pitchfork is considered one of the premiere music websites, that specialize in MUSIC, hence why they are given more weight critically. And MMLP did not deserve to win the Album Of The Year Grammy. Radiohead did. Even in retrospect, most critics/music mags hold that album in much higher regard. Let it go, Kanye has critically surpassed Eminem and has pretty much been doing it his entire career. Eminem is far more successful, so it evens out. LMFAO. Wow this place does have a lot of Eminem haters. That one thread was right. LOL. Have you even listened to Kid A? I love the marshall mathers lp as much as the next guy, i bought that album the first week in the summer of 2000, but it was number three behind Kid A and Steely Dan that year. Plain and simple. edit: actually scratch that it was better than the steely dan album. But still not better than kid a, but i think it had a stronger chance of winning since kid a was matched against that beck album so they prolly split votes.

335k to 160k is a significant decrease. I'm just saying that the album has not had a decrease until this week, the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday. And it could potentially fall under the 300k mark for the first time. It's obviously not a huge drop, but it's the closest she's been so far. Especially when other big Christmas sellers, like Josh Groban and Bocelli, all increased at this same point in the past.

I like Radiohead like2throw. They are not a favorite of mine but i have heard great things about that album. Kid A deserved it more than Steely Dan. The grammys just hand lifetime achievement awards like what if somebody has not won many in the past.

Kesha's debut is reminding me of the numbers for "Versus". A mess that the video for WRWWR isn't even out yet. RCA sure does know how to screw up eras.
So glad "Loud" held on so well for the 2nd week. This era is the polar opposite of "rated r", although I wouldn't trade the awesomeness of rated r for commercial success.

Was there a huge drop in her album for Rated R ??? i thought she released around the same time last year?

LOL @ KW being denied a Grammy because of controversy. Who created the cover of a white w***e straddling a black man? Who went on the TV circuit at same time as GB? Who continues to milk the Taylor "we share same management" Swift episode? Who decided to cancel Today show concert? In every situation, KW is not some passive victim. He is a brilliant puppet master with the media -- very few have been able to do it so well. I love the way ppl get worked up, when it's all a big game for him.

Oh okay, so she released during the week of black friday. I guess I can't compare since her second week this time was during black friday.

Metacritic doesnt acknowledge USA today. They also don't acknowledge a few other well known. It makes no sense why they acknowledge Pitchfork but not USA Today. Seriously...USA today is a respectable news outlet. Pitchfork is garbage. I mean they gave Wocka Flocka an 8/10 for god sakes. Seriously... I'm not making the comparison. Some kanye fan got mad that i made a legit comparison. I mean The MMLP should have won album of the year. But because of controversy he didnt. Kanye should win AOTY for MBDTF...But he won't cause of controversy. All i said and somebody caught feelings. Of course you think Pitchfork is garbage, they gave Eminem's last two albums bad reviews. And USA Today respectable? To who? Pitchfork is considered one of the premiere music websites, that specialize in MUSIC, hence why they are given more weight critically. No. Pitchfork is made up of snarky, hipster, douchey "reviewers" who idolize and worship everything Radiohead releases. I'm not saying they have any more or less weight than a print publication like Spin or Rolling Stone, but they are not the final word on what music is "good."

Seriously, who wastes time reading reviews? If i wanna buy an album, i won't listen to anyone and i won't care, even if my best friend said that its a horrible album i wouldn't care. As long as I'm happy with the album. Pitchfork is the worst reviewers in the entire world, Metacritic is the same, they gave MMLP 2.5 stars, LOOL!Who would have thought that could happen?Specially after it sold 1.74 million first week, specially after the public rated it his greatest album ever!

Kinda off topic but you guys think that since neyo debuted so well without a hit single that Ciara can also debut like that or more since she at least had "ride" that was a big hit? I would hardly call 'Ride' a big hit. It was a decent airplay hit, but anywhere else it failed to make an impact. I don't think Ciara will be able to outsell 'Fantasy Ride' unless she releases something big now, but that's not likely, is it?

Seriously? Ciara's career is dead. I don't even know why the record company wasted money releasing her album.

Looks like there *could* be 12 albums that do 100k or more, but it may fall short. overall album sales also may struggle to see a gain over the comparable 2009 week, unless the wealth is really spread around. Nonetheless, it will be nice to see higher-than-usual sales numbers, even if they're not on par with past years.

What is causing Katy's jump? Did she have a low sale price somewhere over BF?

What is causing Katy's jump? Did she have a low sale price somewhere over BF? Amazon had the MP3 album for $6.99 all week and Best Buy had physical cd at same price on Black Friday.

The percentage doesn't really indicate final numbers- i.e., 36% doesn't mean that that's 36% of the fi8nal number. Kanye (and others) could see a big jump with the final update.
HITS projected Ms. Aguilera's album to do anywhere up to 50K. It's done well on iTunes the last few days, sop that will help. Being that the movie has opened, this week's ranking probably will be its peak.

Another collection to not come even close to the success of studio albums
Bon Jovi, on the other hand, are doing quite well.
