The video debut on Idol is genius. Huge audience exposure. I hope it's not just a sneak snippet but I'll be watching. FOX promoting the single and NBC SB. Interscope is starting out on a high note. :)

Indeed- no matter how "irrelevant" this woman becomes (and it's debated with each new release), everybody reacts and does show they care about what she says. The power of irrelevancy. :o
I'd guess the Idol preview probably will be 1 minute or less.

Madonna will never be an irrelevant celebrity; I think the question is (for the past few years at least) is whether she's bringing anything new to the table musically. For example, I enjoyed Hard Candy at the time of its release, but when you consider the cultural relevance of some of her previous albums, not to mention that HC was an amalgamation of Nelly/Justin/Gwen/Timbaland, it was musically 'irrelevant'.

^Agreed- it was a rather "anonymous" album by her standards.

It states that when you preorder, you get the single that day. Will it count towards sales for that weekend? Wonder if Holidayguy knows?? iTunes will offer an exclusive global pre-order of an 18 track Deluxe Edition of MDNA including one exclusive remix from Madonna's new album. The bonus remix will be available from Friday, February 3rd through Monday, February 6th only. During this time period the album will be available for $9.99 and fans will also receive the digital single "Give Me All Your Luvin'" immediately. This single is also exclusive to iTunes during this limited time. At launch, the offer can be found at www.iTunes.com/Madonna.

I don't think I have ever seen a more perfect set up for a single release. She along with Interscope are on their shit!. Bravo L O V E the single cover! Sexy but classy! She looks gorgeous.

I don't follow Madonna, so how was I supposed to know the pic is a Hard Candy outtake? So why are you in here, to cause drama? So I was hoping to start drama by stating that I didn't like that fan-made cover and by saying that I didn't know that particular picture was from a past era? What are you talking about? Nothing about either of those comments was meant to cause drama. Snap out of "defensive stan" mode and stop grasping at straws. Some of you really need to get it through your heads that this is not a fan board. One doesn't have to be a Madonna nut to post in her threads; negative opinions are allowed. I don't follow Madonna, so how was I supposed to know the pic is a Hard Candy outtake? And you make that painfully evident every time you choose to discuss her.

I am very pleased with the promo schedule! I still don't get why certain record labels would wait for a month or two after a song's impact before they release the song's music video.

I am very pleased with the promo schedule! I still don't get why certain record labels would wait for a month or two after a song's impact before they release the song's music video. Various reasons. Longevity perhaps. Or letting a song get to a certain point on its own merit/other promo, then release the video to give it another push. Not always useful putting all your eggs on one basket, so to speak.

chartfreak- I imagine it will be like any pre-order. if you pre-order the album, the single automatically downloads to your computer. But, I also would think you can purchase the track without pre-ordering the album (as is usually the case with pre-orders).
A press release regarding album release date, tracklisting, etc. should be coming, too. Wonder if the tour indeed will be named after the album.
BTW- why does that release say, "The song was written by Madonna, Martin Solveig, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A, composed by Martin Solveig and Michael Tordjman and produced by Madonna and Martin Solveig." Since "written' and "composed" mean the same, what does "composed" mean in this instance?

Pondering: if I watch Idol, I'll hear a piece of the track before the Friday debut. Unless it leaks Thursday...

Drowned Madonna is reporting that she will be performing Hung Up at the SB with Stuart Price. Hope this is true. :) DrownedMadonna.com heard that Stuart Price and William Obit did mixes of some Madonna's classics for Madonna's Super Bowl long-awaited performance, and are meant to be mixed into each other to create a MASH-UP. Β Without ruining plans for a surprise for the her show, we decided just to reveal that Give Me All Your Luvin' is blending into Hung Up through the guitar solo (in a similar way they did for Live Earth). Keep in mind that it is still subject to changes. Also the mash-up originally included more tracks than what they are currently rehearsing. Β The show is being described to DrownedMadonna.com as "a magnificent symphony of visuals." Expect the unexpected! Β Stay tuned!! Read more: www.drownedmadonna.com/#ixzz1kszWYuNH

Drowned Madonna is reporting that she will be performing Hung Up at the SB with Stuart Price. Hope this is true. :) That would be interesting considering that Madonna and Stuart had a falling out. Keep in mind that it is still subject to changes. Also the mash-up originally included more tracks than what they are currently rehearsing. At this point they really need to finalize it considering that it all happens a week from today.

Where is this going??? LOL. From AD forum about another forum. Will we get a final performance set list?
Don't know if this is real or not, but I saw this on another forum. This was posted by a tech working on the Super Bowl:
Quote: Saw Madonna's set list. Open's with "Vogue" and closes with "Like a Prayer" with a huge choir.
Worked at Lucas Oil Field today finishing the lighting there. Toured the Colts/Patriots locker room and the Giants room." and later added this "Been working till 3 am the past few days. Much to catch up on but will do most of it later.
Madonna has already changed a few things. Her entrance is now the exit during "Like a Prayer." She will be brought in on a cart covered with huge feathers I believed carried by some of her gladiators, then make her grand appearance. The exit upstage is being changed again today because it has a small step she hurt her ankle and hamstring on last week at her personal rehearsals. It will now be completely flat when the lift brings her down to disappear. We hooked up many more lights on the cart and her ego riser midstage.
