Adele should be back at #1 next week

In terms of her competition, she's already surpassed Rihanna and Ke$ha and Katy is not far ahead.
This weeks drop should be in the 30-40% range.

Comparing the second weeks of albums that debuted with 2 million to albums that barely crossed a million in the first week and ranking them makes no sense.

This is a little disappointing. But I can see her selling 30k to 40k for the rest of the year. Even if Adele runs away with #1 for the year, Gaga should be a strong second.

It's a dumb list because it's not a list of the biggest second week drops. It's just a list of the second week sales for all albums that sold over a million. So the ranking basically says nothing.

I really don't see the point in comparing sales from a decade ago.

1.275 in 2 weeks...hopefully sales stabilize a bit - 2 more weeks over 100k would be great but I think it's possible she'll be below 100k next week.

This is precisely why many people myself included were saying that GaGa's 1.1 Million first week needs to have an asterisk next to it. It was obviously hugely inflated by the $0.99 amazon deal and shows most of those sales were due to impulse buying and the feeling of getting a good deal.

Shut the fuck up.
lol @ you guys acting like this is the end of the world for her. This is just the second week. She'll be selling fine. All of you haters rejoicing now will eventually come to bite your tongues. She's sold 1.3 million in two weeks. I don't see how you can spin that as a negative in any way, shape, or form.

The 2nd week drop list was created to offer a comparison of where Gaga ends up as compared to other albums of the same level
And there was a discusion at the time about who "holds the record" for highest second week total

If you assumed that all 400k of those people wouldn't have bought it anyway (which would be ridiculous) she'd still have sold twice as much as Britney's album has, almost as much as Rihanna, and not far behind Katy's albums all in a single week. How disappointing.

If she drops to 50K per week she will be shy of 3million [by years end]. So, unless TEOG and (potentially) MTV stall completly, and she aborts this era suddenly. This should do a little over 3million at the least.
But anything can happen. =)

The drop is really bad but I don't know why everyone is so surprised. ??? We already know she got to a million because of the 99c deal so the decline this week really is from like 700k since would have been around where her 1st week was without the deal. If you think about it like that then it's not that bad of a fall.
Either way, it's pretty clear BTW sn't going to reach anywhere near The Fame's sales. 2.5 million might even be a stretch.

How disappointing. I love how stans will always find a way to make their fave look good. First of all, Amazon sold 440K+ of Born This Way first week so I accounted for the fact that roughly 40K+ people would purchase the album regardless which I think is a fair figure. Why bring up Rihanna and Katy Perry ? why not bring up Adele instead ? because she is doing better ? Rihanna's world wide sales will exceed Gaga's anyways. Born This Way is garbage. Complete, total trash.

She still *sold* those numbers. Enough of this endless pointless conversation otherwise.

Who the fuck cares if it was sold at 99cents or given away with happy meals. The numbers are FACT. DEAL WITH IT!
Next week she should still be above 100k.

He's very obviously responding to claims that these numbers are disappointing by comparing them to other similar artists to make the point that if the Born This Way numbers are disappointing, so are 99% of numbers.
