Great consistency for Jason Aldean! I wouldn't be surprised if he does over 2 million by year's end. I have a feeling Adele will come on top this week, but while I hope she sells just about as much as Gaga, I hope Gaga gets her third week. Eminem will be #1 next week, not GaGa or Adele wut.

They aren't identical. There are some similarities, but similarities are found in all music. Some similarities? You can practically sing one song over the other. Regardless, it's not even going to be a big deal. The chorus of Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" has, likewise, some similarities to Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and while that was talked about 15 years ago, no one remembers (and/or cares) about it now, and I bet this whole "Express Yourself"/"Born This Way" thing will go the same route.

The songs honestly aren't that similar. Sure, I understand the comparison. It was the first song I thought of when I first heard BTW, but after careful listening I found that they weren't as similar as previously thought.

Eminem will be #1 next week, not GaGa or Adele wut. His new album with Royce Da 59 is released Tuesday. It is #37 on Amazon right now and #6 on iTunes in pre-orders. Estimated to do 150-200k next week

I said I hope Gaga gets her third week #1 on Wednesday, Eminem's album isn't charting until the following week.

As WTE wasn't a big critical hit, either, that also would have been a surprise, colson. And, no, I can't get over that win. hehe But, it's not like it was the first of its kind in Grammy history.
chato- Faith was a lot more acclaimed than anything Celine Dion has done, so no real problems with that win. :)
Wonder if this week's No. 1 will be a clear winner in the end, or only come out on top by a few hundred copies or so. :)

I can't believe people are actually still having the debate about the Born This Way/Express Yourself controversy and GaGa's claim about the call. Can we just let it go already? It's been like 4 months now...

What's the big deal, you close your eyes, you listen to that song, you hear Madonna. So what.

^Exactly- and it's not like she hasn't said loads of times how she admires, loves her- recently, she said she's bothered by people who *think* she's bothered by the comparisons. From the start- in her debut album's linter notes- she thanked Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Prince, Madonna and Chanel.
Anyhow, yes, hopefully both titles will finish above 100K.

no, but she can dance. all i'm saying is that she is a triple threat. adele is a double. and as someone said, i guess adele's music doesn't really lend itself to choreography. regardless, gaga could stand and sing perfectly fine. i'm not sure i can say that adele could crank out one of her songs while moving vigorously. Well GaGa is not a genius songwriter. Sorry, but her songs are not that wonderful and she rips off others, and then lied about getting an email from Madonna giving her blessing for ripping off her song. GaGa is definitely a good performance artist, and she can play the piano. I don't thinks he is the writer or singer that Adelle is. It's kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Except, I can see Adele being popular for a long time, whereas GaGa's popularity is based on her crazy, outrageous persona, and her persona, which is put on and pretty fake much of the time. While I do agree that Gaga's popularity is mostly based on her outrageous persona, I don't see Adele as someone who will last in the U.S industry. She's killing it now and I'm happy for her but she's just the hot U.K ticket of the moment. That talented girl who doesn't rely on gimmicks and uses her voice as an instrument to sell records and makes top 40/mainstream listeners feel like they're "deep" when they choose to listen to her over someone like Ke$ha. These singer/writer unconventional foreign artists come and go, see - Winehouse, James Blunt, Lewis, but their popularity rarely lasts in the states, and I honestly doubt we'll be getting any other big hits from her here. She'll be lucky to have a successful second single (which I love) and yeah she'll sweep at the Grammy's, but the hype won't last past this record here. I don't know much about the UK market so I can't comment on whether or not she'll continue being successful there but honestly, Gaga is more likely to keep having moderate success in the states than Adele is, especially because Gaga is able to adapt and transform her sound into whatever it is that's popular at the moment like any other Pop artist, Adele simply cannot, and she probably couldn't care less so...

It's been like 4 months now... People still obsess over things a pop star said a decade ago. I have no doubts it will be the same with Gaga. She will be releasing her 7th album in 10 years and people will be shrieking about Express Yourself.

I cannot believe that people are trying to compare FF being on sale this week to BTW being on sale for 99 cents the week of its release. Talk about reaching.

It's not like America has had a chance to reject Amy Winehouse since Back to Black. She's kind of, you know, not released another album since.
I like Gaga and Adele. I hope they both sell a lot of albums. It's not like only one singer at a time gets to be worthy.

I'd love for 21 and Born This Way to end the year as the top 2 albums. Seems like Lil Wayne, Coldplay and possibly some holiday season albums are the only ones with a chance to break it up (though Adele probably has #1 secured).

All i can say is, if we say the year is over in early June, we are saying we have seen the last of the major releases.

^ I know, but it's really a no brainer.... Adele WILL have the #1 album.
She continues to sell 100,000+ for weeks and weeks, plus I bet she will be a strong Holiday seller.

Uh.."You're Beautiful" was massive worldwide and his record sold over 10 million copies in 2005. Winehouse had a massive breakthrough with Rehab in the US and Bleeding Love is one of the biggest songs of the past decade.
Her singles from that album (after Rehab) flopped and I HIGHLY doubt she's going to be scoring any other hits from her new album LOL

Did Amy Winehouse even send any songs for adds after "Rehab"? I remember she sent "You Know I'm No Good" before.
