Yeah, clearly, they were trying to re-create the success of Whataya Want From Me with Better Than I Know Myself but it was strange. The album is great. Hopefully they can find a hit - most likely NCOE or Cuckoo.

I think he will get a sales boost from his performance on American Idol.

I agree that the record starts to drag27 a bit in the middle but overall, MILES better than his debut. So full of personality and vocal power and awesome production. Underneath needs to be submitted for a Grammy and the album needs to be submitted for Pop album.

Shady, Trespassing, Cuckoo and Kickin in are all fantastic. Chokehold and Broken English are decent. The rest of the album is crap.

For Your Entertainment opened with 198k and sold 837k total. It'd be nice if this album did just as well.

^ Runnin' and Underneath are definitely not crap.. I find the ballads on this album WAY to over-dramatic and cheesy. I think Adam does best when he goes for throwback or funk since Shady and Trespassing are fantastic and make the album. I think overall the album is decent, Its extremely high-highs covers up for its lack of consistency.

How is "Runnin'" only a bonus track? ??? It's one of his best songs ever.

I do wish there weren't as many ballads and that they weren't all pushed together at the end of the album. The upbeat tracks definitely stand out and on first listen, I think the ballads on FYE are better than these. The upbeats on this, however, KILL the upbeat tracks from FYE.

Trespassing released today and now #1 in New Zealand. i.imgur.com/0j7Ij.pngI think the album has something for everyone. There are a lot who likes the back end of the album more than the dancey part. Adam still has a lot of American Idol fans who loves his emo, angsty ballads. I like BTIKM but I switched it with the Marvin remix version on my itunes to balance it out more and with Runnin towards the end it works. Runnin is an an amazing song that can't be left unnoticed.

Adam on the cover of LA Weekly.Adam Lambert: Now 50% More Fabulous One of the fascinating Angelenos featured in L.A. Weekly's People 2012 issue. Check out our entire People 2012 issue here. You do not want to mess with the "Glamberts." Adam Lambert's superfans eat up everything written about the singer, and Lord help a writer if it's not 100 percent positive. They will defend their man to the death. Interestingly, the Glamberts are mostly female, and their feelings for Lambert are decidedly not platonic -- even though he's been out as a gay man since 2009, soon after his American Idol run ended one step from victory. More: blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2012/05/adam_lambert_people_2012.phpAdam Lambert on Music Biz Mistakes, Triumphs and One 'Ballsy' Request for Exec Producer Credit (Q&A)As his second album "Trespassing" is released this week, the "American Idol" season 8 runner-up opens up to THR about music industry lessons he learned the hard way. THR: Your first album was hard to categorize in terms of genre, and since then, music has become very urban- and dance-heavy. Did that factor into your approach as you worked on Trespassing? Adam Lambert:I actually find it a little irritating how everyone has to classify everything. I don't really get why we do that so much because if you like a song, you like a song. I wanted to make something that was like pure pop. But pop is everything, so what does that mean? I think that on the last album and coming out of Idol, I had a little bit of pressure that I put on myself and maybe from some of my fanbase to have this classic rock fame. There's still a lot of that energy on that album and there's still a lot of that sensibility and spirit, but I think the genre is less exploited. THR: You also record for a company, RCA Records, that’s fixated on Top 40 success… Lambert: It's been an interesting experience. And I think going into it the first time, I didn't really understand the business of it much at all. Maybe as a consumer, I did, but not as much as I do now from the inside out. And it definitely does inform you and teach you things. First and foremost, I wanted to write music this time. I wanted to write from my perspective, figure out what I wanted to say and if it fit on the album and the executives liked it, then great, but it came more from me first this time. It's been really cool too, because, yes, it is a business, but I've been working with incredible A&R who's incredible who’s into the sonic sophistication that I think the album has, and my new management [Direct Management Group] has been really fantastic. So I think I have all the necessary tools to kind of be able to accomplish what I wanted to accomplish this time. Today he releases Trespassing (RCA), his second post-Idol album, and its confidence and catchiness should further establish him as one of today's premier male pop stars. Trespassing, which counts among its collaborators Pharrell, Sam Sparro, Chic's Nile Rogers, and Dr. Luke, struts; it brims with grooves and is led by Lambert's overwhelming charisma, and it could very well be the first No. 1 album by an out pop star, as Chris Molanphy noted last week. SOTC caught up with Lambert yesterday before he performed a brief set at the MLB Fan Cave, located in the former Tower Records space at East 4th St. and Broadway. This is a very interesting album. It reminds me of a Jackson album in places, and 2000 Britney in other places. It feels throwback and edgy at the same time.

Got the Deluxe Edition at Wal*Mart today, and I'm impressed. The only songs I really don't care for currently are 'Runnin'' and 'Take Back'. The rest are just wow. My favorite songs being 'Chokehold', 'Shady', 'Nirvana', 'Trespassing', 'Cuckoo', 'Underneath', and 'Outlaws of Love'. The rest of the album is good. So, yeah, I'm happy with this album.

Very pleasantly surprised with this album, and Khrazy, I see what you mean with the "edgy throwback" sound.

Sony Music Ireland @sonymusicire *CHECK OUT* @adamlambert on the cover of Beat Week Magazine! AND get to know the story behind new album "Trespassing". ow.ly/aXCIvAdam Lambert: the Beatweek cover story interviewAdam Lambert is still a trespasser, figuratively speaking, even as his new album debuts at number one today on the charts. Nevermind that he’s in his third year of fame, he has the most loyal fan base of perhaps any modern pop star, and he’s the lead singer of Queen when he wants to be. The fact that his music doesn’t fit into any particular genre means he’s tasked with breaking new ground any time he makes music, and his new record runs the gamut. He starts out by buoyantly declaring “Wait til they get a load of me” over an electric guitar riff and a thumping drum line, and yet by the time it’s all over he’s somberly exploring what’s suddenly become the nation’s most pressing social issue from a distinctively personal perspective. The process was a year long journey, in multiple cities, with multiple collaborators. But while Trespassing is frontloaded with upbeat material, it’s the more vulnerable second half which came to him first.
