This list is not complete but it has a lot of them. 4 decadesAerosmith (70s, 80s, 90s, 00s) Cher (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s) Michael Jackson (70s, 80s, 90s, 00s) Barbra Streisand (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s) 3 decadesChristina Aguilera (90s, 00s, 10s) Herb Alpert (60s, 70s, 80s) The Beach Boys (60s, 70s, 80s) The Beatles (60s, 70s, 90s) Bee Gees (60s, 70s, 80s) James Brown (60s, 70s, 80s) Eric Clapton (70s, 80s, 90s) Neil Diamond (60s, 70s, 80s) Dr. Dre (90s, 00s, 10s) Aretha Franklin (60s, 70s, 80s) Marvin Gaye (60s, 70s, 80s) Whitney Houston (80s, 90s, 00s) Enrique Iglesias (90s, 00s, 10s) Janet Jackson (80s, 90s, 00s) Jay-Z (90s, 00s, 10s) Billy Joel (70s, 80s, 90s) Elton John (70s, 80s, 90s) Jennifer Lopez (90s, 00s, 10s) Madonna (80s, 90s, 00s) Johnny Mathis (50s, 60s, 70s) Bette Midler (70s, 80s, 90s) Elvis Presley (50s, 60s, 70s) Queen (70s, 80s, 90s) The Rolling Stones (60s, 70s, 80s) Neil Sedaka (50s, 60s, 70s) Britney Spears (90s, 00s, 10s) Styx (70s, 80s, 90s) Usher (90s, 00s, 10s) Dionne Warwick (60s, 70s, 80s) Stevie Wonder (60s, 70s, 80s) unless you count features, i fail to see how dr dre has it in 3 decades. he had 4 top 10 hits, (1993) (1993) (1995) and (2011). his feature on crack a bottle went top 10 in 2009, but are we counting featues?

^Aguilera is listed, as she cameos on Maroon 5's single- so, yes, counting features.
"Last Friday Night" is unstoppable.

There won't be any 5 decade artists for sure Michael Jackson or even Aerosmith could conceivably have a top 10 hit over the next few years. Not the most likely of scenarios, but stranger things have happened. Exactly. I think it's more of a fun record than a record that can really be used to compare. Mariah Carey is a huge artist that is not on the list but she has a span of 19 years from "Vision of Love" to "Obsessed" which is a longer span than a lot of the artists who charted in 3 decades. "Vision of Love" hit #1 in the summer of 1990 and "Obsessed" peaked in late September 2009. Had "Vision of Love" peaked several months earlier and "Obsessed" peaked several months later, she would have gone from charting in 2 decades to charting in 4 decades. That's how silly it is to use the "achievement" as a means to compare artists.

Is is safe to say that by the huge drops Mean gets everyday, what held it so far was payola? I know the label pushed it to #1, but it seems like when they failed, they let go and the song's been dropping fast. Too bad for Taylor, I love Mean.

Madonna could join the 4 decade club if her label pushes her lead single from her next album. And in the highly unlikely case it went #1 she would have #1s in 4 decades too.

"Mean" did not hit No. 1 on Billboard, though.
I also think it's unlikely Madonna could score a No. 1 on the Hot 100, but, hey, odder stuff has happened.

Add Santana to the 3 decade club (70s, 90s, 00s). He also came very close to making it 5 decades (his first top ten debuted in January of 1970, causing him to miss the 60s by only a few weeks, and he got as high as #15 in the 80s with "Hold On").
And give Michael Jackson an asterisk on the 5 decade club; he sang lead on the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back," which first hit the top ten the week ending December 27, 1969.

Nicki does sing but her album contains only one track that is purely a singing track ("Save Me"), although she sings the choruses on at least half of the album's songs. Like jazzysoul said, Pink Friday is by far considered much more of a rap album than Miseducation, so she would be the first female rapper to achieve that feat. It's interesting to see that Man Down is performing better at radio than CKB but the opposite is true on iTunes. What about the dutchess? Fergie raps on most of the songs. Does it not count because she is white? This has nothing to do with race or ethnicity. Fergie is broadly regarded as a pop singer and in fact her solo album and BEP albums largely highlight her talents as a singer, not a rapper. This is largely reflected in the lack of solo songs charting on the BB Rap Songs and very few songs (if any) charting in the top 40 on the Hot Hip Hop/Rap Songs. She has never been nominated for in a rap or hip hop category at any music awards show. In addition, her only solo album never ascended to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 so that is a moot point in respect to what this conversation is about (Number one album & single for female rapper). As for Lauryn Hill, I definitely understand the argument that she is the first rapper to achieve this because "Doo Wop" was the number one single from Miseducation and her origins with The Fugees relied heavily on her rap skills. So I respect the counterargument that Lauryn is the first. I just personally opine the other perspective.

I'm sure she can get a top 10 hit this decade

Oh, and another interesting one is The Moody Blues, who only had three top ten hits, but each was in a different decade (60s, 70s, 80s). Ricky Nelson also hit top 10 in 50s, 60s, and 70s. I guess there's a bunch of three decade folks. I guess it's a much shorter list if it's narrowed down to 4 decade artists.

Radio is reducing spins of "E.T." in greater amounts now, with "Last Friday Night" gaining so much.

So Katy needed to sell 27k more than LMFAO to be ahead of them. So, she's actually really close to #1. She should end up at #2 or #3 this week! She needed 74k to get ahead of Adele, and 56k to get ahead of Pitbull, which I think she did for Pitbull, but not so sure if she can pass Adele this week. Next week... #1 looks so close! :'(
