I think it'll be incredible if it goes back into the top 10. i'm hoping top 10, but probably more like top 20.

the Twist went to #1, fell out of the top 40, then 1 year later went all the way back to #1. Only song to ever do that I believe. So it wouldn't be the first time, but crazy none the less.

The Twist was a very special case of a song needing a few years to catch on with a society that wasn't entirely ready for rock-n-roll or a dance craze of that nature. For Rolling in the Deep to make the massive leap it's about to make is an entirely different situation.

The Twist had two separate chart runs, not one as in Adele's case. The Twist hit #1 the first time in 1960 on the strength of exposure via American Bandstand.

It hit #1 again in rerelease in 1962 as adults caught on to the dance craze.

Becoming the only single ever to hit #1 twice.

If Adele were to do it, it would be the same chart run and essentially being the same as a song hitting #1 falling out and then returning later in the chart run

Chubby Checker's unique distinction is safe here

It charted based on only 10 plays at one of the biggest stations on the panel, WUSN in Chicago. But since it's audience-based, 10 spins made for 0.236 million AI's, enough to put Kelly at #59.

Country radio isn't playing the song (at least not yet). It's just one station...and the new PD at WUSN was a Top 40 PD only a few months ago, so it was his choice to play the song. I don't think it's getting any sort of push at country radio, and I'm not sure if it will, either.

This happened with one of Mary J. Blige's albums several years ago. Turns out that if you remove songs from the original release as well, it is considered a separately charting entity. (In her case both charted as the same release for one week based on the label not informing Billboard of the content appropriately in advance, but was then split.)

My understanding is Katy's new album is a subset of songs from the full release. Most re-releases add songs on but don't remove any, which is why they are counted the same.

If this is treated as a separate release, it will chart separately and sales of this album will not count towards the original

^I just looked up the album and although I didn't find a full track list, it looks like it does include all the original TD songs after all. Hmm. I thought I had read elsewhere that it was just the singles + remixes/new songs.

I thought that they were replacing the original ET & LFN with the remixes? If it doesn't include them in their original form, then it's technically "different." Plus, the original rules stated 3 news songs and 1 remix...this one will obviously include at least 3 remixes.

Anyway, 3 new songs and 4 remixes have been added to other albums before and have been considered the same album
