Guns 'n Roses 'Greatest Hits' is today's 25 cent deal, but of course any sales that it gets because of the deal will count for next week's chart as the new tracking week begun today. I had this CD and lost it

Two albums this week should outsell last year's number one. And Adele, will likely be in the exact position she was a full year ago. Not a surprise at this point, but wow.

I have an android phone and a tablet they both show Drake "Take care" as the 25cent album. I dont see GnR. They are doing these deals to get ppl to create google wallet accounts so ppl can buy stuff with one click in the future. I already have google wallet account i use google offers which is like groupon. I also have account with amazon app store which has free paid app everyday. And these r some really nice apps i got for free. Google wallet is also used with nexus branded android phones which carry NFC chip and u can make payments in stores

Looking at these numbers, it seems as though iTunes hasn't reported yet, so that's something to take into consideration.

I checked a few hours ago and it still said Drake but it said "2 day deal" but I checked again now and it's Guns N Roses. I wonder what time they update it? I just buy it from my macbook and then download it from the actual site when I'm logged into Google. Downloads in mp3 format. I wonder these 25 cent deals will be a long-term thing or if it's just for a few weeks to build some buzz.

Google has been doing it from time to time in the 25 and 50 cent range since they first announced their new Music Service.

A QUARTER FOR YOUR THOUGHTS: As we hipped you to last week, much-maligned Google Music made a bold move last week, placing an album a day on sale for 25 cents, which was then copied by Amazon. The sale included releases from UMG and EMI, including Now 41, Lady Antebellum’s Own the Night, Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto, Now 41, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV and Drake's Take Care, which will play havoc with tomorrow's charts. Since all titles have been out for over a month, they will chart at SoundScan, which amended its system after Lady Gaga’s Born This Way sold for 99 cents at Amazon last year to not include all albums priced under $3.49 during their first four weeks of release. Google has been doing it from time to time in the 25 and 50 cent range since they first announced their new Music Service. I dont think its long term they r just building a brand now and losing tons of money in the process but its google it can afford it. They might have given the albums for free but they wanted to collect credit card info so u can order with 1 click in the future. The 25c apps will remain.

I think this 25 cent album thingy just goes truly to show you that artists do not make a lot of $ from albums. I forget the calculations on how much the label gets & the artist get. Anyone knows it?

You can definitely see the effect that both Amazon and Google had with their sale.

Let The Boss have a week at No. 1. It's not like ms. Adkins hasn't had enough weeks on top- and won't return for more.

In some weird way, I hope this is a sign that record companies will lower prices for album sales. They should be $9.99 for standard editions and $12.99 for deluxe editions.
