Holy shit Justin Bieber. I finally heard part of this song on the radio the other day. Production sounds more mature, but nothing can rescue this song from those lyrics.
Also, great going Gotye. I really dig this song.

So he's going to end his first week at radio with like 60 million A.I. if the +7 updates continue, plus around 450-500k digital.....he could get that #1. #2 is the lowest he's debuting.

He's getting #1. No way around that unfortunately. I just hope once "Boyfriend" plunges in week 2, it lasts for long enough for Gotye to still grab that #1 in a month before Bieber starts to rise again.

Is it even still an official promo? It seems like at this point, if a big-name artist releases a first single, CHR will spin the s*** out of it day one (or first 3 days) just because people want to hear it/are curious.

Probably a promo- even with big-name acts, it usually doesn't result in numbers that large on the first day. granted, Mediabase's numbers now are larger than ever when compared to BDS numbers (with the audience adjustments), but still.
Plus, Lopez's album was not exactly a big smash seller (316K to date), and "On the Floor" was the only track to do well. Will OTF2 impact similarly? We'll see. She again has the American Idol promo going for her for the track.

"Dance Again" is getting the Clear Channel promo. It was reported yesterday when it first came out. I know Z100 was playing it every hour on the hour yesterday.

Could someone stop Pitbull from writing lyrics? i agree. he's an awful rapper. he has lots of hits, but good god, the man is a terrible lyricist. every time i hear a pitbull song i turn the verses down and just wait for the chorus. |

Payola laws in the US allow for pay-for-play as long as radio listeners are informed of the deal. That allows for a lot of loopholes. Billboard has no say in that.
