I think Gaga is a chorus genius. Period.

I think Gaga is a chorus genius. Period. That's been my favorite thing about her since the beginning. She will just deliver hook after hook after hook on a song like it's nothing. I don't think anyone else can do it the way she does. Granted, sometimes it can feel disjointed at times (Venus), but with the right producer, it's flawless (Bad Romance). This can't leak soon enough for me.

Applause remains the best song. No wonder it was the first single. DWUW is a distant second. I bet I will love Jewels and Drugs and the ballads.

Sexx Dreams can SLAY. She definitely isn't letting us down at all this era.
LOL at it being disguised under Bjork and thehausofroy.

I feel like this era will be very split-like, when we rank the songs the songs I rank last will be what other people rank first and vice versa and more dramatically than most eras. Applause is still by far the weakest to me and honestly if that was the best song on the cd I probably wouldn't have bought the cd at all. But, I think there is definitely a large amount of people who do prefer songs like Applause and DWUW. It is also strange, but in almost every case her first single is my least favorite song of the era. Just Dance=one of my least favorites on Fame. Born This Way-probably my absolute least favorite of that entire cd including bonus tracks. Applause=least favorite so far by far. Only exception is Bad Romance which was fucking epic in every way. God, the three punch of Paparazzi-Bad Romance-Telephone was just legendary.

God, the three punch of Paparazzi-Bad Romance-Telephone was just legendary. I totally agree. None of my favorites from BTW were singles, except for "Judas" which was still unpopular among the masses. The Fame Monster is incomparable because it was as solid as solid gets, but I view The Fame in the same way as BTW. Aside from "Poker Face", I preferred many of the album tracks over the singles.

I'm sure this'll leak soon.
Anyway, I just realized 'Ratchet' isn't there? Hope we get it through the App or some bonus track release or something.

So has anyone else been listening to Venus on constant repeat as well? I think I'm obsessed.

I am embarrassed to look at how many times I have played Venus. However, I think at this point I am going to stop listening to any songs from the cd except for DWUW and Applause as singles. I don't want to be tired of certain songs before the cd even comes out. It will be tough and I will probably cheat though I am so happy she did not let me down musically this time around.

There was no mention of Azealia, so I assumed the rumored 18 features on that track were fake.

There's a supposed "Ratchet" beat on YT or whatever, though.

I think the 'Ratchet' beat was confirmed as being real or something (iirc?) It's entirely possible for them to just cut Azealia out of the song though and have Gaga record her own verse or something though like she did when Britney gave her 'Telephone' back because it was a snoozefest.

We'll probably get it through that app if that is still going to happen. Soon...

The more I think about "Venus" almost becoming a single, the more I think "Swine" has a decent chance at being a single #icanhope

Yeah, I just don't really care for those harsh, Teutonic beats she served on some of BTW and on this album. They're just too aggressive for me. It reminds me of Marilyn Manson or Nine Inch Nails, which I like, but in small doses.

There's nothing wrong with her teeth. Born This Way wasn't bad because of how aggressive it was—for me, at least. I love most of this record and it's pretty aggressive so far. The former was bad because she worked with very mediocre talent. Here for it. Production is bigger than she is, though. I'm ok with that. Most impressive production on the album so far. The production reminds me of the instrumental hook in Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" after the choruses. YES that's it, thank you. I was like "where have I heard this before"? It specifically makes me think of the Powerman 5000 cover they used in Zoolander lol.

That is probably exactly why I like it-I am a big fan of NIN, did enjoy a lot of Marilyn's earlier work, and enjoy a heavy, aggressive beat on songs (Muse have a few that are just pure heaven). Definitely not for everyone though. This reminds me that I need to go catch up on NIN actually.
