I'm confused...what's with the pictures of Haim and the guy from Kids Are All Right? It's a pic from the SNL twitter account. They announced Gaga's hosting/performance although with Haim/Josh Hutcherson the following week. |

I'm sure Gaga will be a great host. How is her acting? She can do skits fine, I'm sure. If she's as crazy as she is in public, I'm sure she can play all kinds of wonderful characters on SNL. She's had skits on there before.

Gaga, Bubble Dress, Gaga remembers everyone's name) have ranged from mildly successful to very successful. Hopefully they write some good sketches and a good commercial or two. |

Good for her for hosting too, that takes a lot of guts (and time commitment) and will really humanize her. People generally don't think comedy when they think gaga so this will be a new side

Gaga did a really great job with the skits she did in 2011, she'll be a great host.

Heard 'DWUW' on the radio omw to work today. Sounded so good & I was jamming hella hard.
I love the 'Dope' cover & the pic in the SNL promo. I've really enjoyed the imagery so far in this era.

I don't get the comparisons of Venus to Judas at all. Like, it seems really, really different to me in every way except maybe both being "weird" compared to the average generic pop song. Venus is much lighter, more fun, clearer vocals, stronger hooks, etc. I actually loved Judas, but I don't think it should have ever seen the light of day as a single.
And calling the chorus underwhelming is literal crazy talk to me. I legitimately have not been able to keep it out of my head for the week or so we have had it. I think it is one of the catchiest parts of a song I have heard from her in a long time-possibly since Fame Monster. If I am calling the chorus what others are calling the chorus-I remember there was some debate over what was considered the chorus, the pre-chorus, etc lol.
(Not really crazy talk, but it is weird how we all hear music differently)
Can't wait to see her on SNL. I wonder if she will do Applause and DWUW or try to go for Venus and DWUW.

I don't think the song sounds like Judas at all, but the comparisons mostly stem from it being too weird to work as a single, much like Judas. Hooks aren't always the issue. Judas has some absolutely massive hooks, but it still flopped. |

They're quite similar in that the verses are really quite odd, bizarre vocals/structure. Before the chorus we get another hook, albeit a light one - then both go for a massive pop chorus. Same thing with Bad Romance... and quite a lot of Gaga's songs actually.
If she had a formula, I'd say that was it.
