Does she have international promo lined up? Cause this album is set to come out without a current hit on the charts outside the US. Let's be honest, she's Lady Gaga. She doesn't need a "current hit" on the world charts to have international success.

By that logic she is supposed to have a current hit everywhere in the world because she's Lady Gaga.
It's strange that Applause has been a complete non-event in most countries, in the UK it's not even among the top 40 best sellers of the year to date. Album sales are low everywhere so I don't think anyone should expect notable numbers outside the Billboard 200.

But we have seen that happen before, a decent 1st week amount everywhere and then a major drop in the 2nd round to never record again till a proper hit is defined

Oh no I agree with you on all of that, I just haven't paid a lick of attention to its performance overseas and assumed it would have done better. I'm sure she'll do more overseas promo than X Factor. She'll need to to get 'Do What You Want' going anywhere. Call me crazy, but I actually think it may be a good idea to make 'Venus' the international single in this case. Crazy! Venus will flop in any place it's released. Both dwyw and Venus are likely to do well overseas but I actually think Venus will be the bigger hit. Venus is like hook after hook after hook I'm not even sure which hook is the actual chorus. It is universal in that sense.

If she can get more time, I can see her doing a more fleshed out version of the X-factor performance.

Believe it or not, I was a big fan of NIN at one point...and Muse is one of my favorite bands, especially live. I just don't particularly need GaGa to fill that void, musically, when I already have bands doing it better. I actually like most of BTW but my favorite GaGa songs of hers are the pure dance ones. Doesn't mean I won't enjoy this album though. That is kind of how I feel in the opposite direction so I understand. Like, I have a million accessible pop-dance artists or radio friendly dance songs I could listen to on my Itunes, so I don't need Gaga to be thrown on that pile and do what everyone else seems to be doing necessarily. I usually like Gaga for what she gives me that other pop stars aren't doing (more aggressive beats, playing with structure and vocals, occasionally being slightly adventurous with music, lyrics, and looks, etc). I think it is best in balance though and that is why I am so excited about this album-it looks like she found a balance between her radio friendly easy-to-swallow music and her weird/hard side.

She performed in 2009, I remember her doing Speechless on the piano with her leg, and I presume she also did Bad Romance.

I can't at some of y'all not remembering her best televised performance ever. Back the f**k up Paparazzi VMA performance.

No one was questioning her best televised performance but only her last performance at the AMA's.

As much as I want to see her do Venus again she needs to do a full dwyw performance with r Kelly on the amas. If they kill it the song will explode.

Because her "name" didn't really help her get success anywhere, period. Behold the somewhat short chart life of Judas in most places, and this was with monster hype. I don't see what this has to do with 'Venus' though.

He said that Venus would do better overseas because of its structure. Judas is similar in structure (and what some have compared it to) so I put its performance here in international markets.

I don't see how Gaga can fill a void of NIN or Muse or anyone else. A lot of the people she can be compared to tend to be glam-rock bands with male lead vocalists but there aren't many female singers doing the same level of craziness that she does. Like you said, I get my fill of dance/pop from other singers, all of whom I love to varying degrees, so I'd rather Gaga wasn't doing what they were doing, other than for the occasional single to get back into the charts. That's why I want more songs like Venus or Aura from her.

I'm surprised she's doing the AMA, to be honest. But I'm glad she is!

LoveGame passed 100 million views on vevo.com today. For some reason YT has slightly less views for all videos. Applause apparently passed 100 million on vevo.com as well, at least for some people. I still only see 99 million, but others are seeing 100. Either way that makes 10 videos over 100 million.

I didn't read his post that way; just that it was incredibly catchy and had a lot of hooks. I personally don't get any comparisons to 'Judas' besides the fact that it probably would have done just as poorly in the states if it was released here. Otherwise the songs are totally different.

They're pretty similar. Maybe not sonically, but they're both "in-your-face" pop songs with polarizing lyrics and an, imo, underwhelming chorus compared to the rest of the song. Don't get me wrong though - I love both songs, but Venus's fate would be similar to Judas's probably for similar reasons.

Venus has grown on me so much, I think it was just a lot to digest as first.
I LOVE the harmonies in the chorus and the "this could be loooove" parts, they blend together so perfectly and it almost sounds "colorful", if that makes sense. Almost sounds like a choir.

The chorus is by far the strongest part of 'Venus'.

I guess if Gaga didn't start her career making disposable, but fun, pop hits, I would never want those songs from her. I do get that she is no longer that artist tho and hasn't been for most of her career.

Here's something I just thought of. Will the stream be open to everyone or just to people who have pre ordered the album? Couldn't find any details on that anywhere. It would make sense for the label to use that to sell, right? Pretty smart, actually.

I'm confused...what's with the pictures of Haim and the guy from Kids Are All Right?
I'd assume the stream is for everyone.
