The hair in the pink outfit is very M, truth or dare era when she went to the premiere with Warren Beaty. I think Gaga looks great, I like this look on her, the weird outfits are kinda getting boring now. And before some girls their panties all twisted, I know Madonna didn't invent the look. I am just comparing and throwing no shade. I never once thought Madonna. Amy Winehouse, however. :'( rip legend

I know, I'm just saying they're bffs now and she's supposedly starring in a video. Could this mean they will have a duet??

Wow at Lindsay Lohan being in Gaga's new music video. I wonder what role she is going to play. I need the new single and it's video in my life right now.

I hope that's the album title. I remember reading somewhere that Lady Gaga mentioned her album title is very long. Perhaps, just like Fiona Apple, ARTPOP is just the condensed version of the full title? Just a pitch. I actually like the title just the way it is. The people pointing at her for being pretentious or too serious might be right but I don't really see that as a bad thing. Because why be bothered, right? It's not hurting anyone.

I actually thought the ARTPOP being capitalized meant it will be an abbreviation of a longer title which I am sort of dreading because the pretentious police will be ALL OVER IT. Might be fun to think of what it could stand for
Artistry Raises (the) Twilight Psalmody Orchestra (of my) Psyche
Ok that is totally my album title if I ever release one. I think with Gaga it would be more like a bunch of Pop Culture catch phrases.
Or that picture could be the title ha ha.

Very striking. I always feel like her magazine covers stand out even though I realize she has nothing to do with the styling or anything.

Dream Girl: Lady Gaga Graces the September Issue of Vogue
photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott Whether Lady Gaga, appearing on our cover for the second time, is touring the globe with a groundbreaking extravaganza world tour or launching the most innovative perfume in two decades, she does it entirely on her own terms. As in: She said yes to Coty’s request on the condition that the company not only conjure scent notes to her specification but figure out how to create a liquid that appears black in the bottle, but when sprayed, becomes clear. (After all, she points out, “The fragrance is called Fame. It must be black. It must be enticing. You must want to lick and touch and feel it, but the look of it must terrify you.”) Also on her own terms: the Born This Way Ball, her massive spectacle, which has just made its way through Asia and Australia and is destined next for Europe and the States. She banned video screens, instead dreaming up a “fortress” that lets her dance 50 feet above an audience of 30,000. "I really wanted to break the mold of what modern touring is now,” Gaga explains. This is Lady Gaga, after all, who manages to be both utterly out of this world and yet, strangely, simultaneously down-to-earth, as Jonathan Van Meter’s profile reveals. The 26-year-old star is as apt to head out on the town in Versace or McQueen as she is wearing an anonymous mystery gift left on her hotel doorstep with no note and no name—a dress made of hundreds of miniature mirrors sewn into origami-like boxes. In Gaga’s world, where borders blur (fantasy and reality, scary and cute), what was once risk-taking (the meat dress) becomes oddly charming (the reinvention of the meat dress is one of the highlights of the Born This Way Ball). “We were talking about putting the show together,” she recounts, “and I said, OK, what if I was someone’s grandma and I was going to a concert tonight. How would I know that it was a Gaga show? And we all just sort of looked at each other and said,‘The meat dress.’ ” That’s Mother Monster, mindful of the grandmas and the Goths alike, and regardless how large her fan base has swelled (the Queen of Twitter counts more than 28 million followers), she knows many of them by name. “I don’t really make records for people to listen to and go, ‘Wow, she’s a genius,’ ” says Gaga. “I’d really like you to order a drink, maybe kiss the person you came with that evening, or rediscover something about your past that makes you feel even more brave.” To read the full story, and to see more of the photographs by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, head to newsstands on August 14 to purchase the September issue of Vogue.

For what it's worth... www.nme.com/news/lady-gaga/65408David Guetta has said that he believes Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' album was "very disappointing" and would have been much better if he'd worked on it. The 'Titanium' DJ has revealed that he met with Gaga in 2009 to discuss the possibility of collaborating on the 2011 record, but the plan ultimately fell through. The producer added that he really regretted not working with Lady Gaga as he believed he could have made 'Born This Way' much better, but he was sure her third album would be a massive improvement. He told WENN when asked if he regretted not working with the singer: "Yeah, because I think we could have done something amazing on her last record, 'Born This Way'. And her last record was to me very disappointing. She's an amazing artist, and she deserves to be always looking ahead, like she did with her first album." He continued: "But actually I know for a fact - because I know who she's working with now - that the next album is going to be absolutely crazy. He's someone really good, a young kid." Earlier this week, Lady Gaga has announced that her third studio album will be titled 'ARTPOP'. The singer is expected to release the album in early 2013 and tweeted the title of her new LP over the weekend via a new tattooon her upper arm. Writing about 'ARTPOP', the singer said that the title must all be written in capital letters and described it as an "album/project". She wrote: "Make sure when writing about my new album/project ARTPOP that you CAPITALIZE the title it's all in the details." Gaga is currently in the middle of her 'Born This Way' ball world tour, which features 110 dates in all. The tour's European leg will begin again in Sofia, Bulgaria on August 14, before making its way to the UK for a pair of dates at Twickenham on September 8 and 9 and a third show at the Manchester Arena on September 11. David Guetta plays the iTunes Festival in a co-headline show with Calvin Harris on September 15.

Just to hop back to the discussion on the previous page -- don't mind my long rambling.
I do feel like Gaga has sort of lost some of the campy, light-hearted appeal that she had during The Fame/Monster eras. That loss of levity I think is what contributed to the notion that she started taking herself and her work "too seriously." Sure, there was still some of that camp on the Born This Way album, but the whole era, while I enjoyed, felt a bit heavy.
Maybe it was the biker-chic persona she adopted. Maybe it was her hyping up her work by speaking in hyperbole. Maybe it was the new-found social message she was trying to send. Maybe she really did start believing what she was doing was on a higher, "artistic" level; whereas you kind of felt like she was IN ON THE JOKE previously when she sold that same schtick but in a more tongue-in-cheek manner ("LoveGame," "Paparazzi," "Bad Romance," "Telephone").
Regardless, something felt different last era. It was heavier, and darker, and more serious? People have always said she took herself too seriously, but if you had said that prior to Born This Way, you simply missed the fact that she was taking the piss out of people -- having fun making pop music, using creativity and humor to elevate her persona. The difference with the last era, was that certain elements of that were missing or had changed. Thus, her appeal became more serious.
I had said before that the moment she takes herself too seriously will be the moment she falters. While last era wasn't a complete falter, it also wasn't exactly a step up or on par with her previous eras, commercially-speaking. I hope with ARTPOP she brings back that tongue-in-cheek, quirky approach, combining pop music with "art" -- I want color, I want humor, I want sass, I want fun, I want camp. That, combined with great music - which she always serves - and compelling visuals, is a winning formula. Gaga may never return to the immense popularity and exposure she had reached before, but she can maintain it with the right decisions.

I agree.. I love GaGa but Im on the fence right now.. I dont want GaGa to repeat herself, but I do miss The Fame/Fame Monster GaGa. I dont like all the screaming she does as of late. Its all so serious. If she continues down this path, I know shell push me away as a fan. It gets to be a lil much at times. Say what you want, Im just stating my opinion. I said to myself and friends that I felt she was doing TOO much during the first two eras, in regards to out there performances and looks, and that she isnt going to leave much to do later on down the road, ie: she'll loose the GaGa factor, and I feel she has. I'm hoping she lightens up a bit or comes to us with something a lil different. I also believe that she should have taken a break after The Fame eras because with her coming back so dark and heavy, it was just too much...and now she has another one on the way, and if it goes badly itll be hard for her to really come back strong. I LOVE GAGA but Im honestly getting the overexposed feeling and its making me shy away.

Guetta is good, but has been basically recycling the same beat for like, 10 years. Working with him is not exactly "looking forward" at all.

His work in the early mid 2000s up until his last album felt fresher. Certain sounds are characteristic of his work and will be. But only a few songs on the current album were really drastically different, take "Titanium" for example.

Or, I guess he found a popular sound and is making bank off of it so is milking it ha ha. Guess I cannot blame him, but I would love to see him come out with something fresh with his next cd.

The thing with Gaga is that where most people see her taking herself too seriously I see her playing a character who perhaps takes herself too seriously. When you have these interviews where she talks so seriously about her wigs or cries about stupid things and compare it to how she was when she first came out it's pretty obvious to me that the latter (both?) isn't the 'real her' and it's all just part of the fun.

I really think this will be a huge era for her. She really tamed down quite a bit towards the end of BTW last fall. Hopefully she comes back with fun pop, which given the album title, will be just that. I like that Lady Gaga best, over the in-your-face Lady Gaga. More fun pop, less religion and sexuality! ARTPOP is kind of a cool sounding name, although it kinda makes me crave a poptart.
