Anyone catch the CW album release party? I missed it. :( I caught a little of it. It was just artRave with some boring questions in between performances courtesy of Ryan Seacrest.

I think 260k is good. Yes its a huge drop from her last era debut but her last era really fizzled a bit. Honestly I was more disappointed with Katys debut numbers bc she was coming off one of the biggest eras ever in pop music. but I think both opened respectable

Excuse me can the thread title be changed to 259,000?
Like seriously? If I were her, I would have bought that last 1000 myself. 260,000 looks nicer.

The figure from HITS is 259,683 which rounds up to 260,000. Also, this isn't even the official figure so it doesn't matter until that number comes out. Capisce?

Thank you.
Sheesh.
Actually, now that you mention it, why does the HITS thread say 259k? Why is it rounded down when the number is 259,673 or something? Talk about #haters !

SoundSdcan figure is 258,000- that includes <1,000 reported by H&M (which usually doesn't report to SoundScan, but did this week). The digital count was 146,000.

Don't "capisce" me unless ya facts right. The "facts" were right at the time because that's all we had to go on. You questioned why the number was 260 rather than 259 when proper rounding procedures start to round up if the next digit is 5 or above, which it was. The number was based on what was available at the time, which is different from the number Billboard is reporting.

Gaga stahp. I sympathize with her. I genuinely do. The media and what feels like everyone on the internet took a collective dump on her this year. But playing the martyr is like, the worst PR move she could make. No one believes she "makes it all for us." You make it for you, Gaga. Be genuine about it. Every time you say otherwise is another gunshot to your Q score.

I just don't like how she says "it's more fun to point and laugh than appreciate the artist". Well maybe if you didn't act and dress so ridiculously. She's practically inviting people to say stuff about her when she does stupid sh*t.

She's practically inviting people to say stuff about her when she does stupid sh*t. She's just being honest. Look at what people do on the internet all across the world, they comment on Yahoo and CNN articles, Youtube videos, and send tweets with vulgar stuff, 90% of the time not even knowing what they're talking about. It really is more fun to add fuel to someone's fire of hatred and ignorance than it is to actually listen to someone's piece of work. It has nothing to do with how she dresses. Mariah gets dragged for being a bitch, fat, and a diva which is disgusting, because none of those things have anything to do with her artistry. It's more fun to make fun of somebody than recognize what they're actually contributing to the world.

Lady Gaga @ladygaga billboard you're included actually. In todays industry, u should be supportive of music period. Why target a passionate + dedicated artist?

And what other artists? Her rhetoric boils down to "look at how much I've done for you." I can't think of anyone else who refers to their pop music as some kind of selfless act of benevolence. For the record, Gaga's probably my favorite artist. Almost all of the comments I make about her are positive. I think the media backlash has been incredibly unfair and she has every right to be upset. It's not her addressing the haters that frustrates me, it's the narcissism that rears its head from time to time in interviews and tweets. EDIT: Also, I realize a lot of people call Gaga out on having a huge ego, and these people tend to be the ones who think everything she does is a big attention ploy. I don't think that, nor do I think she's superficial, that she should dress normally, or that she should make her music more radio friendly. I love her for being so brashly weird. I just wish her fan base didn't inflate her sense of self-importance.

I think all she is saying is that she does what she does for people to enjoy it. She doesn't have any intention with her work other than positivity. And it is ridiculous that people are using it as a source of hate, and going out of their way to use it for hate when it is only meant for good. If you don't like it, don't pay attention to it.

Your points are quite good, but tell me why did you use those quotes as the basis of your post if that's not your problem with her?

Hmmm...whats her beef with Billboard? They have been doing nothing but promoting the shit out of her. Maybe because they actually printed her sales figures and it stung?

Bitch is mad I mean her lashing out at BB was completely uncalled for an unnecessary. Billboard only reports facts, they are not a gossip magazine. She needs to grow the fuck up and move on from caring about what people say, write or post about her
