The verses on Aura and the Venus bridge are two of my favorite parts of the entire era. It is weird, to me, how some see that as the worst moments and she needs to "stop recording ridiculous s**t" I guess that is music though? Yes...just like music is subjective, so are opinions. The verses and Venus bridge are jarring and polarizing, just like the woman herself. As a big fan of Gaga, that opinion seems to fall perfectly within the realm of normalcy for me, especially when you put them up against DWUW, Gypsy, and any other radio-friendly fare from her. If you look at the waveform for Venus, it's the most bizarre thing. It really shows how choppy that song is, like three pieces that haven't been meshed into a whole. I think that's it's biggest weakness. It's a shame because the individual pieces are so fun and well composed; that chorus is absolutely amazing. Them harmonies! Bad Romance is a good example of structuring the hooks/song in a way that Venus doesn't. You have a lot of hooks/elements that are constructed perfectly, for maximum effect, especially the Chorus-Reprise of the opening hook-"rah rah" chant sequence.

I definitely think Sexxx Dreams should be the 3rd single.

Sexxx Dreams is my favorite Gaga song (ever), but I stand by Manicure as the best choice for single #3.

Didn't a billboard writer say Manicure should be #3?
Personally I think it should go Gypsy, GUY, Manicure but honestly I don't know

I would think "Gypsy" is a no-brainer for single #3. Not sure what they should go for after that.
It's a shame they squandered the chance to make "Do What U Want" into a proper smash though.

I'm worried about the sanity of anyone who thinks 'MANiCURE' should be a single, let alone the next single.

It's not hitting on any trends right now at radio and it's not radio-friendly in the least. Her vocals are too abrasive and the hook/lyrics are nonsense. It's not even a good album track.

Does anyone know if Gaga is going to add more dates on the tour? I want her to come to Colorado!

Isn't there suppose to be a Part 2 to this? I wonder will they just re-release this w/the lead single from the second set when 'DWUW' officially peaks rather than going for a third on the former.

I think anything she releases is going to perform like Crazy Kids at this point. But Gypsy is her best bet, although the title is already a strike against it. Sexxx Dreams would be another song that would have an automatic strike against it.

Her numbers in the UK are disastrous and beyond saving: Applause is only the 75th biggest single of 2013 (257k sales) while ARTPOP is the 52nd biggest album of 2013 (164k sales). In comparison The Fame/Monster moved 1 million+ copies in both 2009 and 2010...

I still think it's going to grow. I heard DWUW twice yesterday on Z100 on Sirius XM. The 2nd time, they had Christina and Gaga talking about the duet before the song played. To me, that shows the label is really going to start pushing it.

A part 2, like Justin Timberlake's albums? Seeing how Artpop has performed, there's not much justification for a "Part 2."

He had 2 successful singles from the Part 1 and his Part 2 completely flopped. Who knows if "Part 2" could be filled with more radio-friendly material?

A sequel should only be done if the original is so highly regarded and/or successful that the public wants more. Not when the original is underperforming and by far her least successful both commercially and critically. The whole point of a sequel is to give the audience more because they couldn't get enough of the original.

However, they could be treating it like a "re-release" to stimulate more interest in this era....kinda like what they did with TFM.

Airplay doesn't seem to be the problem this era, "Applause" and now "Do What U Want" are rivaling her previous biggest hits' AI. I meant the opportunity to really give it the momentum it needs on iTunes feels like it passed due to the hold up of the video and scattered promo, remixes... it's like they're making up the campaign as they go along. But I'm not that fussed- I love "Do What U Want" but I find ARTPOP to be quite disappointing on the whole. "Do What U Want", "Gypsy", "Fashion!" are really the only songs I still play from it.

Audience numbers would be higher now, with the recalibrations/increased number of stations, but, yeah, the singles have done well enough at radio.
Has she even said anything as of late about the video? It went from, "It's coming soon!" to nothing?

If there's a re-release, I wonder when we can expect it? I think there will likely be since the album doesn't have any sure fire hits left and there was no deluxe edition already.
On one hand, if they release a single from it, that would take them to the summer and then have a mid-summer album re-release, like Teenage Dream.
On the other hand, they might do a march or April re-release and just go from DWUW into a new single altogether.
Or just end the era and release the next batch of songs as a whole new album.
Remember that there's the Tony duets album coming soon too. Apparently that was pushed back to the end of the year so as to not interfere with Artpop.

I would not advise literally releasing Artpop 2. However, I could see a re-release happening (with an incredibly radio friendly smash heading it?) or even a new album project next year possibly using some of the songs they had prepared for Artpop 2.

Outside of hardcore fans, the audiences for Artpop and the duets album probably wouldn't overlap much, so not sure why they thought one would interfere with the other, unless in terms of marketing/promotion.

I don't think this should give up on ARTPOP and move on yet. Sales seem to be fine since she's expected to be within reach of the top 10 this week in the US.

They are NOT going to do a re-release. All that extra money to record music and then promote it?
GaGa/Interscope should promote this to 1 million copies scanned in the USA. At least a 3rd and maybe a 4th single...
Interscope is not going to promote this for two Christmases. A la Katy Perry...

I don't think there was ever supposed to be a Part 2, but we were supposed to get new songs from the app. Which thus far, has proven to be not half as revolutionary as promised. Yawn.
I think she'd benefit most from doing another The Fame Monster, and having something of a complimentary EP to ARTPOP. Shove some of the scrapped material on there-- and there's at least enough to make an EP-- and maybe throw in a couple of safer, fresher recordings. At the very least, it'll maintain what little momentum she has. Best case scenario, it helps build it. She's got nothing to lose though.
If they need another single, go with 'Gypsy', much as I hate it. 'G.U.Y.' might not perform too badly either. The whole 90's sound is coming back, and that melody is straight out of '99.

Timing is important and Gaga would be working too much. She's putting 100% into ARTPOP and I'm sure she'd want to do the same for the duets album.

They are NOT going to do a re-release. All that extra money to record music and then promote it? Re-releases are actually a pretty cheap way to release new music and get more money. That is why everyone and their brother has been doing them for the last few years even when it doesn't seem necessarily or logical. She already has hinted she has a cds worth more songs recorded for release in 2014 and slapping on a radio friendly new song or two would be way, way cheaper than releasing an entirely new cd later. I am on the fence whether I actually want it to happen or not, but I can see the appeal if they have a surefire hit prepared and she is sitting on a lot of recorded songs-a re-release or an EP like Fame Monster would be the cheapest, fastest ways to get it out there.
