I am actually wondering if they should have just stuck with Venus. Hear me out-I agree that DWUW is like, a billion times more radio friendly than Venus. However, it seems like they had an entire promotional image and plan for Venus and I also feel (just my opinion) that Gaga was more into it. It would have definitely been less messy and I think Gaga would have promoted it more effectively. However, I just do not see it being a radio hit so I guess all of that could have turned into another Judas anyway.

For example, look at the UK X Factor performance of the song. I loved it, but it was a #mess.

A part 2, like Justin Timberlake's albums? Seeing how Artpop has performed, there's not much justification for a "Part 2." What does that have to do with anything? He had 2 successful singles from the Part 1 and his Part 2 completely flopped. Who knows if "Part 2" could be filled with more radio-friendly material? Please. Part 2 did not flop. It was a #1 album, has sold over 800,000 units in the US and has two top 40 singles. Part 2 was released mainly as a gift to fans, not to be another huge album. That is still better than countless releases this year.

Yes I feel like most of the early performances of DWUW were borderline worthless because of that. They FINALLY got it together for the AMAs one, imo.

She changed her name on twitter to Goddess Of Love after she did the same on LM.com last night. "Venus" is happening, y'all. She's crazy. I really doubt it's anything more than her just being cheeky because she really likes the song. If her label lets her do that, then they really have lost all faith in this project.

If Venus is indeed the next single, I see it doing *shivers* worse than Marry The Night. I pray that they ride out Do What U Want for another month.

^It's a contributing editor, not a regular Billboard employee. (But, still not good...) littlemonsters.com/post/52c9ee5da296c8b7228b4f86DWUW Video It is late because, just like with the Applause video unfortunately, I was given a week to plan and execute it. It is very devastating for someone like me, I devote every moment of my life to creating fantasies for you. All my my most successful videos were planned over a period of time when I was rested and my creativity was honored. Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more. I am very grateful to the photographers and designers who have always stood by me to make sure my fans are never aware of the things that happen behind the scenes, but unfortunately after my surgery I was too sick, too tired, and too sad to control the damage on my own. My label was not aware that this was going on. The next few months of ARTPOP will truly be its beginning. Because those who did not care about ARTPOP's success are now gone, and the dreams I have been planning can now come to fruition. Please forgive me that I did not foresee this coming, I never thought after all the years of hard work that those I called friends and partners would ever care so little at a time I needed them the most. Give me a chance to show you the meaning of seeing art all around you. Open your hearts to me again that I may show you the joy of us coming together through our talents, that we are stronger as a unit than when we are alone. Let me be for you the Goddess that I know I truly am, let me show you the visions that have been in my mind for two years. I love you. Forgive me monsters. Forgive me ARTPOP. You are my whole world. ------------------------------------------------------ I love the Applause video.

I don't think it was being cited as a legitimate news story but probably just because it got so much attention.

That new blog is kinda sad, but also a relief. If it's true, I'm happy to see that she feels like its time to move on and the real stuff is about to start.
So she's saying the drama behind the scenes has been messing up the era and hindering her creativity basically?
I hope we get some form of a DWUW video, and I would definitely love to see Venus as the next single. It has grown on me so much since the first time I heard it.

That is still better than countless releases this year. Part 2 was released for the label and him to capitalize as much as possible on a "comeback" era. You only need to listen to Part 2 once (not sure why you would spin it more than that though) to hear it's nothing but b-side quality material packaged as a sequel to a really great first release. If it was a gift to fans, it would have been free. It was pure canalization and in my opinion, greed. What GaGa needs to do is tour. She's great at doing that and it's great publicity for her when the reviews come in. When ready to drop her next release, whatever it may be, she also needs to shut up and let the music speak for itself like it used to. Then she will be fine. She should probably delete twitter too.

I really hate how she victimized herself in that article, but what she did for Emma is just amazing! Love it.

I didn't really care for Applause but I do like DWYW and I like some of her past work. It's just her persona that is off putting.

I actually do like being reminded about her persona through redundant comments by the same people over and over every time Gaga says something. Sometimes I forget how she acts because I'm so busy jamming out to ARTPOP.

So she passed 600k. How high can ARTPOP go? I'm thinking 850-900k by the end of 2014. I hope I'm wrong and she sells 1 million.

I just read her comments towards what's been going on w/this era in the 'DWUW' thread. I can see all the frustration & disappointment she's been going through for pretty much the whole era. Hopefully all those bad apples are thrown away & Interscope is still behind this project. "ARTPOP" still has the potential to put out the message she's been wanting to push out. Now, just bring on the damn video!
