Some effects on Chris Brown's voice are ok, but sometimes it's too exagerate. However, I think I agree with the latter

COMMENTARY.

New month, but no #1 yet. This makes eight weeks for "Little Talks"! "I Love It" bullets #6 to #2 after a few weeks of stalling. If it fails to make #1 it will be the third song blocked by "Little Talks", following "Tornado", which spent the first three weeks of the year at #2, and "DNA", which debuted at #2 last week. I thought I'd take a look at other songs blocked from #1 by long running chart toppers. The 16 week #1 "Take Care" directly blocked five songs, "Starships", "Dance Again", "Love Me", "How We Do (Party)" and "The Motto", and helped block "Love On Top" (it made #2 earlier). The 13 week #1 "Domino" directly blocked "Dedication To My Ex", "Good Feeling", "What Makes You Beautiful" and the previously mentioned "Love On Top", and helped block "Someone Like You". The 9 week #1 "Cooler Than Me" blocked three songs: "Neutron Star Collision", "Pyramid" and "Dynamite".

Continuing on with this week's chart, "Set Me On Fire" climbs two to #5, scoring a new peak, and "Feel The Love" climbs #11 to #7 after previously peaking at #9 three weeks ago. No new songs reach the top 10, but the teens are jam-packed with rising songs, including "Beneath Your Beautiful" spending a third week at #12, and our highest debut of the week. In at #19 is Emeli Sandé with "Next To Me". It's her first chart entry, following her success as a feature on "Beneath Your Beautiful". And there are plenty more debuts to come this week; eight, in fact! It's almost like it's September 2012 all over again. Next up are three more artists scoring their first chart entries: "Lanterns" from Australian group Birds of Tokyo at #22, "F**kin' Problems" from A$AP Rocky and a bunch of other rappers at #28, and "Stompa" from Serena Ryder at #35.

The last four debuts are conveniently placed at the bottom four positions. Bruno Mars loses his platinum hit "Locked Out Of Heaven" this week, but "When I Was Your Man" debuts straight in at #47. Flo Rida's new single "Let It Roll" is in at #48. It's his fifth Wild Ones hit, following the triple platinum hit "Good Feeling" (#2, 2011-10-23), double platinum hits "Wild Ones" (#8, 2012-02-12) and "Whistle" (#6, 2012-08-05), and that flop "I Cry" (#42, 2012-11-18). Calvin Harris' new track "Drinking From The Bottle" comes in at #49. It's his sixth chart hit (and single) from 18 Months, following "Bounce" (#9, 2011-09-04), the double platinum hit "Feel So Close" (#4, 2011-03-11), "Let's Go" (#21, 2012-07-29), "We'll Be Coming Back" (sadly only #27, 2012-08-19) and the platinum hit "Sweet Nothing" (#9, 2012-12-16). And the final entry is from Conor Maynard with "Turn Around", his second following "Vegas Girl" (#36, 2012-10-07).

Three songs pick up new certs this week. The first is "Ho Hey" from The Lumineers, going double platinum while spending a tenth week in the top ten. The second is Loreen's "Euphoria", going platinum after reaching a peak of #4 a few weeks ago, and the third is Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" also going platinum, while falling from its peak of #9 down to #11 this week. A few more milestones are hit this week: "Call My Name" reaches 30 weeks, and "Sitting On Top Of The World" reaches 40. Only 16 songs have ever reached the 40 mark.

Now, onto the droppers (because I can totally write five paragraphs!!). "Wings" has a sharp fall, dropping off the chart from #29. Blame "DNA" for killing it off. "Tongue Tied" falls off from #37 just one week shy of cracking 30 weeks, which would have been pretty amazing for a song that only peaked at #19. Three top 5 hits are lost: "Locked Out Of Heaven", "This Kiss" and "Diamonds", and "Girl On Fire", "Thrift Shop" and "Scream & Shout" round up the droppers. With Carly's "This Kiss" leaving the chart, her streak is broken, leaving fun. as the longest sitter remaining. fun.'s streak is at 49 weeks, currently continued by their #1 hit "Some Nights" which is at #33 this week. Also, "Die Young" is 148 points away from passing "Some Nights" to have the second highest point total on the chart. However, "Try" is catching up big time. It's only 1,138 points behind "Die Young" this week. And also [2], "Feel The Love" has 9,999 points this week. I wanted to mention that but didn't know where to fit it, so I put it here. COMMENTARY.

Well, it's another action-packed chart this week, and we finally have a new #1! Rudimental's "Feel The Love" bullets six places to #1 this week, pushing "Little Talks" down to #2 after eight weeks at the summit. "Feel The Love" was a #1 hit in the UK in June 2012 and a #3 hit in Australia the following month. As usual, I'm super late – but it still counts! It's the first UK #1 to reach #1 on my chart since "Call My Name" debuted at #1 last July. Both "Feel The Love" and "Little Talks" also pick up new certs this week, going once and twice platinum respectively.

Last week, Emeli Sandé had the highest debut of the week with "Next To Me" at #19. This week the track rockets fourteen places to #5, becoming her first top ten hit. Meanwhile, "Beneath Your Beautiful" by Labrinth featuring Emeli finally manages to climb to #11 after three weeks stuck at #12. So it's a really lucky week for her!

P!nk's "Try" is up to a huge 17 weeks in the top ten, climbing to equal fifth place on the 'most weeks in top ten' tally. The top four songs are "Born This Way" (24), "Domino" (22), "Take Care" (also 22), "Call Me Maybe" (18). "Try" is also up to 29,428 chart points this week, meaning that unless it falls to #29 next week, it's just one week away from triple platinum! Another two songs are very close to triple platinum, one of which will probably make it next week too. Can't wait to use the red text!

Eight songs debuted last week. This week we have seven. Pretty large numbers, and unfortunate to all the songs getting flushed out. The highest debut this week is Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You" [sic] at #25, followed by Kacey Musgraves with "Merry Go 'Round" at #29, Future with "Turn On The Lights" at #32, Kendrick Lamar with "Swimming Pools" at #41 and Brandy with "Put It Down" at #48, all of which are the first chart hits for those artists. Nelly also comes in with his new track "Hey Porsche" at #49, and the final debut is from Rihanna at #50. If you're reading this before reading the chart you'll probably be thinking it's "Stay", but no – it's actually "Pour It Up"; "Stay" just missed out again. I like "Stay" too but "Pour It Up" has been a lot more immediate for me, surprisingly.

Most of this week's droppers aren't worth reporting, but there is one of significance: "Sitting On Top Of The World". And I'm going to turn this paragraph into a tribute section for it. "Sitting" entered the chart in May 2012 at #23. The other songs to debut that week were "How We Do (Party)", "Earthquake", "Lego House" and "Whistle". It hovered around the lower teens for about two months, but that wasn't particularly unusual as my chart was quite slow-moving at that point in time. It caught wind in early July, rocketing from #15 to #7 to #3, no doubt helped by that phase I had of listening to my local Mix station way too much, where "Sitting" was played regularly. It reached the summit on August 19 in its 16th week on the chart, which was was the second longest climb to #1 in my chart's history, and spent two weeks at #1. It was already double platinum before it hit #1, which is pretty astounding. And with a very slow fall from there on, it managed to be crowned the second biggest song of 2012, and it racked up a huge 47,832 chart points in the course of its 40 week run. All this done by one simple little track from Australia. Only Queen Delta. <3
