Commentary
"Stompa" conquers the top spot for a third non-consecutive week. It entered the top 20 year-to-date songs. "Can't Hold Us" is steady at #2 for a second week, it's not likely to return to the top spot because of the bigger decreases. They're still pretty close. The rest of the top five is also static, "The Phoenix" at #3, "Up In The Air" at #4 and "The Way" at #5. The former just passed 1 million points making it the second platinum single from the band's album 'Save Rock and Roll'.

"Still Into You" jumps #8-6 outpeaking their lead single "Now", which stopped at #8. Justin Timberlake's second single "Mirrors stays at #7 for a third consecutive week. It had already reach #1 for four weeks ranking at #4 on the Year-to-date list. "Blurred Lines" moves #10-8, there are also two new entries in the top ten this week:
"Get Lucky" by Daft Punk and Pharrell Willams (who currently has two songs in the top ten as a featured artist) jumped #13-9 and the lead single of Selena Gomez new album "Come & Get It" comes with a #14-10 move.

There are several important debuts this week, the highest being "#Beautiful" by Mariah Carey and Miguel at #19. It instantly became Miguel's highest peaking song and it's possible to be the 6th chart topper for Mariah, the first since 2006. Her #1 hits were: "I Know What You Want", "It's Like That" (also the biggest), "We Belong Together", "Shake It Off" and "Don't Forget About Us". "Touch My Body" peaked at #3.

Vicci Martinez and CeeLo Green comes with the cover of Titiyo's fantastic 2001 hit "Come Along" at #20. Seriously, Sweden is still the best in making pop music.
I forgot to include the song in my nostalgia #1s and top tens, because somehow I looked over it browsing old charts. It happened to a bunch of song, other notable example is Jem's "They" from 2004. I don't want to edit them, it took so much time, but to correct this fault I'll support this. It's actually good enough for a top 5 placement.
"Live It Up" by 'The World's Most Beautiful' Woman feat. Pitbull starts at #33.

"Same Love" just reached top 80 after 17 weeks charting. It's an unbeatable record I guess.

"Just Give Me A Reason" reached 4X Platinum status last week. "Sweet Nothing" finally reached 2 million points this week. Her other song "Say My Name" is also close to the 2X platinum mark despite being a sleeper hit. It never got higher than #23, while "Sweet Nothing" peaked at #2.

A second week for "#Beautiful" and that's the only sure thing about this top ten. There will be a bunch of debuts, mainly of those songs that are popular here. I'm not listening to music that much, so the given points will drop drastically, at least for the top ten. That means the difference between the top ten and lower positions will shrink.
Selena Gomez got her highest charting single outdoing "Love
You Like A Love Song" which peaked at #6 several times during its run. I doubt that "Come & Get It" can be a bigger hit when it's done. "#Beautiful" is the first Mariah song to spend more than one week at the top spot since "We Belong Together". "Shake It Off" and "Don't Forget About Us" both stayed there for a single week. Pharrell Williams currently has two songs in the top five as a featured artist. "Crazy Kids" marks Ke$ha's fourth top ten from her current era after "Die Young" #1 (3 weeks); "C'mon" #4 and "Thinking Of You" #9. "I Need Your Love" is the second top ten for Calvin Harris as a lead artist. "Sweet Nothing" and "We Found Love" both peaked at #2. Will this song perform the same?
It's also the fourth top ten for Ellie Goulding. "Lights" #1 (4 weeks); "Starry Eyed" #13; "Anything Could Happen" #1 (2 weeks) and "Figure 8" #9. She will definitely have much more if she and her label decide to promote and release "My Blood" or such great songs from Halcyon. Please. :'( I'll push "Explosions" after INYL is done.

Ok so
1) I lost ALL of my excel files, that means all of my chart history, more than 1,5 years of constant top 100 weekly lists and my "older" stuff too. There's something from that here and other threads, but the loss was catastrophe. For me at least.
2) I'm gonna try to redo something of those, with the help of my posted stuff.
3) week 21 will be up late this week dating 8th of May. I'l never be able to recreate week 19, but will try my best. They'll come right before the current one.

It marks the sixth #1 for Mariah following "I Know What You Want" (with Busta Rhymes), "It's Like That", "We Belong Together", "Shake It Off" and "Don't Forget About Us". It's her first solo hit topping my chart not from The Emancipation of Mimi era. It's also the first top 10 and #1 hit for Miguel.
"Stompa" is knocked down to #2. "Come & Get It" got a new peak moving #10-4. "Live It Up" by Jennifer Lopez jumped #33-6. It's her first top ten since "Papi", "Dance Again" just missed it. A handful of Eurovision songs debut this week, the highest of them / and the highest debut this week is "Only Teardrops" by the winner of the song contest, Emmelie de Forest.

Commentary
"#Beautiful" tops the chart for a second week, The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 winner song matches the peak of last year's.

Mariah is unbothered at the top spot, "#Beautiful" spends a second week at #1 on my Top 100. "Get Lucky" jumped #10-2 and is the only serious contender for this weeks's chart (June 8). "Come & Get It" earns a new peak moving #4-3. "Can't Hold Us" is still strong slipping #3-4, but might collapse this week like "Stompa" did. Serena Ryder's song fell #2-7 this week. "Blurred Lines" jumped #8-5 bringing the number of Pharrell-assisted top5 songs to 2. The songs may or may not occupy the top two soon. "Up In The Air" by 30 Seconds To Mars holds strong, moves up from #7 to #6 because more song fell below it than jumped over. "The Phoenix" is down #5-8, while Ke$ha scored her fourth top ten hit this era with "Crazy Kids" jumping #13-9. "Die Young" was a three-week #1, "C'mon" peaked at #4, the rushed "Thinking Of You" peaked at #9. "I Need You Love" is closing the top ten, jumping #14-10. It is the third top ten for Calvin Harris ("We Found Love", "Sweet Nothing" both peaked #2) and the fourth for Ellie Goulding.

The Eurovision winner song, "Only Teardrops" jumped #19-11 matching the peak of "Euphoria" last year. I need to not that that was a sleeper hit going up and down before winning the contest, so it'll probably still be a bigger hit in the end.
"Wild" by Jessie J starts at #16. It will be her sixth top ten after "Do It Like a Dude", "Price Tag", "Nobody's Perfect", "Who's Laughing Now" and "Domino".

"Liebe Ist Meine Rebellion" by Frida Gold is the third German-language song to enter my top 100 in year. "Tage Wie Diese" and "Millionen Licter" were both rock-leaning songs, hope this will do as well despite being EDM. But GOOD EDM!

Chart Week of 2013. June 8 (week 23)



Commentary
This past week was messy, final oral exams, got the %s of the written ones too, I'm back to Hungary and got back my dear PC. Okay, it's not that computer anymore. :( This week posted one of the closest top 3, two more plays for the #2 would probably made it a chart-topper.

Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" moved #2-1 with a quite small increase. It marks the first ever chart-topper for Daft Punk, and I think Pharrell too. The song passed 1 million points either now or the last week.
"Wild" by Jessie J jumped #16-2 in its second week. It had 274k points, while Daft Punk was at 284k, so the difference was less then 4%. The song got a 180% boost from the previous week off the overplay and hype alone (it's not stable yet). It's her sixth top ten, the third for Big Sean.
Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. are also fairly close with "Blurred Lines" jumping #5-3. The retro R&B song got 233k points, that's 0.82 of "Get Lucky". It did increase by 36%, so it looks like a long-running (3-4 weeks for me ) number-one song in process. Just a too typical run so far. The song passed 1 million total points.

Mariah Carey's "#Beautiful" experienced an almost 40% decrease from 291k to 189k points falling #1-4. Still better than "Mirrors", which fell from #1 to #5 I guess.
"Come & Get It" decreased from 198k to 181k this week falling #3-5. That #3 was more than likely it's peak, because her second song from Stars Dance, "Slow Down" is the highest debut at #19. Looking from another side it didn't really decrease that much, just got passed by two exploding song. It should return to #4 at least in the following weeks. The Disney's star's first single already topped 1 million points.
"Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore x Ryan Lewis fell #4-6 with a points decrease from 181k to 163k. It has already peaked at #1 and well passed 2 million points. Idk where should it be by now... 2.7-2.8 millions?
Serena Ryder's "Stompa" holds at #7, but its points are down from 158k to 142k. The Canadian star topped my Top 100 for three non-consecutive weeks, her second single "What I Wouldn't Do" unfortunately stalled at #45. A music video would easily make it at least a top 20 hit if not her second consecutive top ten. Her album is fantastic, "Stompa" is great to listen to on a road trip and is already 2X Platinum.

"Crazy Kids" is up #9-8 outpeaking "Thinking Of You". Ke$ha is not so lucky with her era, when I had to pick up a song, I think this will also have a relatively short run (if you don't count in the 15+ weeks of fluctrating run between #27 and #100 before the single announcement. The song racked racked up 134k points up from 112k last week. The song well past Platinum just because it's charting for 21 weeks already.
"Up In The Air" fell #6-9 this week. The song topped 1 million points.
Bruno Mars got his third top ten of the Unorthodox Jukebox-era. "Treasure" is up #14-10 following the #1, 4X Platinum hit "Locked Out Of Heaven" and the #5 peaking, 2X Platinum "Young Girls". "When I Was Your Man" stalled at #18, I tried to force myself to like it, but it was a flop idea. The song did 118k this week up from 101k points last week.
Another late-boomer "I Need Your Love" is pushed out from the top ten despite its increase. It's at 115k points up 5k from last week. This is its 24th week charting.

There are two more high debuts this week, "Q.U.E.E.N." by Janelly Monae and Erykah Badu started at #21. I forgot it for last week, and it should be around there with it's "impact". Yeah, it has. A big one.
Miley's "We Can't Stop" started at #24. It's great.
"Power Trip" by J. Cole and Miguel jumped #31-26. It's the second top 30 for Miguel. "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey is new at #53, "Everything Has Changed" by the fantastic Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran is at #61. It's an easy top twenty hit at least, maybe a top 10. From the album Red, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" peaked at #3 (3X Platinum), "I Knew You Were Trouble" was #1 for three weeks (4X Platinum, around 4.4M), "Begin Again" peaked #13 (2X Platinum), "Red" #6 (2X Platinum, around 2.7M). "22" relatively flopped peaking at #46, okay it was really a FLOP.

"Same Love" is up #76-73 this week getting a new peak again. This is the song's 20th week on the chart, making it by far the longest climb to the top75. It spent like 15 weeks below #90, recently started to rise multiple positions weekly. It's a good song, but I'll push "And We Danced" next, so this will need at least 10 more weeks to reach top50.

The longest chart sitter is "Just Give Me A Reason" with 38 weeks on. It's still at #37 after some major drops lately, so it can eventually reach the "Some Night"/"Lights" longevity of over 50 weeks. It's currently 4X Platinum with around 4.2 million points, so it's the same in size with the aforementioned songs.

I don't know why are you surprised. "Get Lucky", "Blurred Lines", "#Beautiful" and "Come & Get It" will all be top ten on the current week's Pulse 100, I'm pretty basic... I have some unique songs being successful, but most of my chart is close to any random Pulse chart poster (okay minus the alternative and R&B fans). The reason is that I like most of the current songs of any genre, there are a few songs I don't like like the horrendous "Cruise" and it's little bit better remix.

Commentary
"Blurred Lines" got a 30% boost jumping #3-1. It's the first number-one for Thicke, the second for Pharrell and the third for T.I. Pharrell is featured both on the top two hits, "Get Lucky" is down #1-2 after a week at the top spot. Jessie J's "Wild" is down #2-3. The titles from #4-8 are stagnant, "Treasure" moves up #10-9 getting a new peak. "People Like Us" blasts #15-10 becoming the 13th top ten for Kelly Clarkson. Her first single from the Greatest Hits album "Catch My Breath" peaked at #29, but got a remarkable longevity. "I Need Your Love" is stable at #11 for a second week. The song reached #10 three weeks ago. J. Cole & Miguel, Skylar Grey, Janelle Monaé & Erykah Badu got a new top 20 hit. "Final Warning" is the second top twenty hit from Skylar's 'Don't Look Down', her album will hopefully be released. Her third pre-album single, "Wear Me Out" is expected to be by far the biggest jumper on next week's chart. "C'mon let Me Ride" peaked at #10 in December. The highest new entry was "Demons" by Imagine Dragons at #54. Taylor Swift's "Everything Has Changed" jumped #61-28 already outpeaking "22" in it's second week charting.

Commentary

Robin Thicke & Co's "Blurred Lines" holds at #1 for a second week, Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" is #2. Skylar Grey got a big boost leading up the release of her album Don't Look Down. Her second single "Final Warning" jumps #16-10 meanwhile her third single "Wear Me Out" jumps #69-3, one of the biggest one-week movement in months. It was helped by the release of the music video seven days ago.
Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It" is up #5-4 despite losing points. "#Beautiful", the two-week chart topper by Mariah Carey and Miguel fell #3-5. "Power Trip" by J. Cole and Miguel jumps #15-6, Janelle Monae's "Q.U.E.E.N." moves #19-7. "Can't Hold Us" is down #6-8, and "Treasure" is stagnant at #9.
"Everything Has Changed" jumped another 14 spots to #14, "We Can't Stop" and "Slow Down" both returned to the top 20. The highest new entry is "Acapella" by the duo Karmin. It started at #19. "And We Danced" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis" re-entered for the third? time. The world is definitely closing to the edge, "Cruise (remix)" enters the chart at #100. I don't think it will go higher than #90.

The return of the position-based recurrency
I see I was so wrong with my recurrency from Fall 2012. If a song fell in below #80-85 and passed 20 weeks charting it went recurrent. Or not. There was a lot of problem with the longer (30+ weeks) charting songs, I didn't like to drop them so they lingered more than fifteen weeks between #80 and #100 before finally fallig off. That was lame, they were just charting without getting normal points they got 10-15k per week going nowhere. There was a rule back last summer when every song falling below #50 immediately became a recurrent. I wanted to bring that back but always felt like #50 is a too high borderline for that, those songs get an average of 40k points and that's relatively high. So I decided to go with #75 because I like that number. This rule will prevent the big songs to spent half a year at the bottom of my chart and allow me to chart more songs.
That way the following songs went recurrent (some of those would fall off anyway): "Now" by Paramore (20 weeks; #9 peak); "Love And War" by Tamar Braxton (20 weeks; #9 peak); "Figure 8" by Ellie Goulding (30 weeks; #10 peak); "Pour It Up" by Rihanna (29 weeks; #28 peak); "I Knew You Were Trouble" by Taylor Swift (35 weeks; #1 peak); "All Around The World" by Justin Bieber (32 weeks; #27 peak) and "Sweet Nothing" by Calvin Harris and Florence Welch (34 weeks; #2 peak).
