Taylor will need streaming. Actually, if she sold about 450k, she could get zero points from streaming and airplay and still probably be #1 on the Hot 100. Everyone seems to forget that when Justin Bieber debuted, he was up against fun. which had sales in the high 300s along with being at the top of streaming and airplay. Carly has about 200k less in sales than fun did -- the barrier to the top is much lower.

Billboard: Also commercially released to iTunes and Google Play late yesterday, and to other digital retailers today (14), "Never" has the retail record books in its sights. Industry sources suggest that the song may sell between 450,000 to 500,000 downloads by the end of the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week on Sunday (19). That large a sum could earn "Never" the biggest sales debut for a digital song by a woman, as well as a career-high sales week for the country/pop superstar. Even just the week pre-Grammys, but imagine debuting AFTER the Grammys! :O

^ The first week was 448,000 and with the second she was over 1 million in two weeks. Maybe 700-750k.

First #1 debut since the chart reformulation.

I'm gonna say the top 5 will be:
1 Taylor Swift 2 Flo Rida 3 Carly Rae Jepsen 4 Ellie Goulding 5 Katy Perry
2-4 will be fairly close but that's what plugging in some guesses at numbers shows for my formula.
EDIT: I just realized I'm getting ahead of myself and looking at numbers for next week, not this week. Sorry!
This week I do think Flo Rida has the best shot of ousting Carly Rae Jepsen, not Ellie.

This week and next week will be the most exciting top ten in awhile.
I'll be rooting for "Lights" this week and Taylor next week.

Why it's R.I.P. being pushed for radio? I thought Roc The Life would be the new single.

I feel like they need to lighten up on the streaming weight soon. Those charts seem to move slower than the AC ones.

Wasn't sure which color to use for Ms. Swift's track, so went with the fire-y red. :)
I didn't think the number would be that large, so with BDS audience of 40m or so, "We Are Never..." just may debut this week. I'd think that the bottom of the Hot 100 probably has seen 4,000 or fewer points, even with streaming included?

That's a freaking amazing update!
Swift will debut in Hot 100 this week itself for sure. So no '#1 debut'.
Next weekend it will be #1 without a doubt, and then next week, and then next week, and then.........
