Out of the bunch of the latest big releases I like this the most but I understand why it's not doing better. I honestly believe that a lite-r&b ballad ala No One will save her career.

"Lotus" album cover... Love her and all but yeah, this is awful! That's fake, right? If not... Oh, Christina. That's even worse than the Bionic cover.

oh and sorry..i know that its #49 iTunes position is prob. being bought by 2/3 of the people here lol (who keep defending it as a future, sleeper smash) but in reality/mainstream world this is a textbook FLOP. Im the FIRST to say I dont think the song is bad and isnt worthy of it bombing like it is, but as Ive said and will continue to say its HER more than the song :/ If it was Kelly, Beyonce, Katy, Britney, even Rihanna who doesnt have X-Tina like pipes, it would be more of a solid hit how.

I usually love her voice, but this song just doesn't do it for me. It has a good enough beat though, so I would have expected this to do better on the charts than it's been doing.

Better audience today. I just want it to out peak NMT #14 chr/pop peak. ;) Well Rihanna, Linkin Park, Usher, Bruno and Adele are coming from behind. But Nicki, Katy, Florida, and Ellie Goulding are falling...well, at this rate it would be important to at least log in a top 20 peak. We shall see...and why are people using the promo card. It doesn't make a #22 song go to #1 and it doesn't make a song already in the 40s on itunes go back to top 10. The first month is usually curiousity play and then after that determines longevity. I think it is clear that this song was not set for longevity. Nobody (outside her fanbase) wants a song by CA in her 30s talking about F your body. Leave that back in the stripped era and for the current 20 year olds. If anything, she could clearly pull off a back to basics image with Adele teas in her songs. Once again, CA might have just misfired in her aim at the wrong time. 1st era=pop princess check 2nd era=oversexualized, raunch (should have had back to basics image) 3rd era=throwback classic look (should have had raunchy look) GH era=reductive, Lady gaga teas (should have had NMT/Bionic look) 4th era=Bionic dated look should have had B2B clean image with Amy whinehouse, adele, duffy teas 5th era=stripped 2.0...modernized, sophisticated look with adele, kelly clarkson, pink, and classic CA teas. Since this is released in November she might by some time to refocus in 2013. I still don't think this is in that much trouble. It's just being swallowed up by the influx of "new" right now. As long as it continues to gain on radio, it doesn't need to be an out-of-the-box smash. It just needs to do well, and I still think that's possible. But it can't fall away much further--Adele and Kelly are right around the corner. Well, there is always going to be new songs and they chose to release during 3rd and 4th quarter. She should be at the caliber to be included as a big artist to release during this time so that competition wouldn't be a big threat. She's putting out a song about f your body when Pink is doing quality music, Adele is doing quality music and Kesha is doing well typical kesha and Rihanna is doing that song called diamonds Kelly clarkson is releasing a GH which i'm sure will be have a great song. This is being swallowed up not because of timing but quality. Some songs give you a quick jolt and then it's on to the next one...she should pick songs that are destined for longevity. It's not really the kind of track that would become a big hit and all of a sudden strike a chord with the audience. In terms of the Hot 100, I think it may have seen its peak (or if it did happen to reclimb, not get much past it). Plus, she has the other stuff working against her that's been discussed. She really should think before she speaks- she says she's known in the industry as a "risk-taker." ??? Ans when she said that some stuff on the new album may go over some heads. And that Bionic was "ahead of its time"? Really? Gurrrrllll... Yeah, Bionic was dated in sound and saying that something was ahead of its time and that your product will go over people's heads is not the best PR move. The only risk I think she took was having all the potential to be a front runner in pop (Britney), urban pop (beyonce), latin pop (shakira), and rock pop (pink) and choosing the wrong time to push out images so that the above mentioned girls could keep her at bay. Musically and visually I'm not seeing the risks. She needs to get a new team to make sure that everything is aligned right. Why is she not promoting this? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there hasn't been any promotion aside from the video, a few mentions on The Voice, and her appearance on The Tonight Show. Is she going to perform it at all? Clearly it's struggling and needs a boost of some sort. I'm sure it will see a boost in the first few weeks of November but it might not help at this point. oh and sorry..i know that its #49 iTunes position is prob. being bought by 2/3 of the people here lol (who keep defending it as a future, sleeper smash) but in reality/mainstream world this is a textbook FLOP. Yes and no. Her stans are obviously going to make every excuse but you make a point that is so critical that she might not understand. The past generation worked differently. Now more than ever it is about a campaign of the Person and personality. Like the millions of people that buy rihannas singles but not albums because they like the songs but don't like her as a person/personality. Xtina is just missing the people that will by her singles. She has to work on a better persona and personality for people to want to embrace. I feel like she misstepped so early in her career but has not learned from her past mistakes. You don't compete with others, trash others, copy others or shift your image so drastically that you lose and confuse your fanbase too much. I am willing to bet that many of her past fans wonder why she is still pushing this oversexualized, raunchy image that can be a turn off for many. I just wish she'd learn to put everything together perfectly aligned (right image, direction, song, album etc.). It was cute when she misstepped when she was in competition with Britney, Pink, Beyonce and Shakira early in her career but now these mistakes are getting to be too much. She really has too strong of a voice to go downhill like this...

I dont know who told her this album cover was the way to go. Her record company knows Xtina cant compete with the flood of new songs from established artists in the 4th quarter. If this had come out in the spring or summer it wouldve been top 10 at pop radio which couldve lead to a second hit despite all the established artists being out. Now shes just going to flop because her andher record company arent being realistic about christinas career.

I have a feeling that when she does finally perform this live, it's going to be a hot ass mess. I have no doubt that she'll wear some skimpy outfit that will look horrible on her due to her current weight, there will be lots of shrieky/shrill vocals, and...just...ugh. Maybe she better wait to promote the second single, assuming it's a ballad.

The song isn't dead; it's just getting lost in the shuffle right now. We'll see in a few weeks if it stays lost in the shuffle and peaks or if it manages to gain its own ground.

I've spoken to a lot of friends, and most of them seem to hate "sexy" Christina. At first I blew it off, but looking at her discography, some of her biggest underperforming singles ("Not Myself Tonight", "Woohoo", "Dirrty" peaked at #48 on the Hot 100, "Candyman" was the lowest charting single from B2B) were sexually-charged songs. Not sure if it's coincidental or not, but maybe the public doesn't want music like this from Christina. Being that she has so much respect as a vocalist and as a singer with good songs with substance, I think this could be the reason Christina isn't seeing as much success as she used to. I think if she released a song along the lines of "Beautiful" or "Fighter", that doesn't necessarily have to be a ballad, she'll have a hit on her hands.

I think if she released a song along the lines of "Beautiful" or "Fighter", that doesn't necessarily have to be a ballad, she'll have a hit on her hands. I don't think Christina pulls off the sexy vixen or dominatrix sexually charged woman images off nearly as well as she thinks does. I don't think the general public does either, which is why it generally seems to backfire for her. Some people have tried to spin it that it's Americans being misogynistic and not allowing women to be sexual but then I don't know how they explain Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and a slew of others who have used sex as part of their image and done incredibly well. That argument may have worked when people gave Madonna a hard time 30 years ago, but not now. I find Christina more appealing when her image is classier and she's focused on singing, not when she's writhing around barely clothed and talking about how she's gonna fuck some guy she just met.

I agree, it's grown on me quite a lot but still not something I find myself humming along to mysteriously in the middle night. Good track, but not what she needed to make this big comeback. With the right payola and promotion this could do wonders, oh well..

I can't believe they are basically just heaving this out there with basically no promo except the video. I know people will shriek that her being on The Voice=promo in itself, but when I think about rollouts for other singles I think of non-stop major performances, commercials, non-stops ads and price slashes on Itunes, tons of remixes or alternate versions also getting pushed, a LOT of promotion and pushes. Christina needs that push-she hasn't had a solo hit in like, 4-6 years. I guess it could still happen, but it feels like right now they didn't really have a lot of faith in it so they just threw it out there with minimum effort and are ok with letting it die :/ Which is strange. If they felt that way she should sign on for more Voice and not be planning a tour. I just don't get why they would be half-assing it right now when it isn't exactly like she can coast on good radio karma and momentum from previous smashes. Some of what I mentioned wouldn't even cost money so I don't really see it as just a money issue? Fully agree with you! I'm puzzled. There was a stale period in CHR/Pop chart in the Summer, and it would've been perfect for Xtina to release it, have some radio promo tours, even talking about The Voice, and then perform it somewhere later. Argh!! I still think this can recover once all big releases stabilize, but a bullet below 700 at this stage is concerning. I think it is a catchy song, the oohoohOOhoohs are earworm, and the production is a bit different than some typical dance songs in the radio now, since it has more of a rock vibe. Now it's time for remixes, radio promo and a performance, but SOON!
