I guess Top 40 finally accepted that Home wasn't just selling because of the Olympics.

Finally, glad it's getting the success it deserves. It's about to pass 2 million in sales next week too.

The funny thing about OMN and Payphone is that I don't think they would've been hits at all if it weren't for Moves Like Jagger.

And MLJ would have never been a hit if it wasn't for Xtina

And now because she made MLJ a hit, M5's current single is smashing because of her, which is in turn killing off her own single.
THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!

While The Voice so far has not produced any breakout artist, it sure did wonders for Maroon Five to get a second wind in their career

it's hard to argue that a song with 162M AI is only successful because of a duet 2 songs previously. If it had gotten 50M, i'd say well yea, but it's probably in the top 4 of the year so far, besides We Are Young, Call Me Maybe, and Somebody That I Used To Know. That is NOT a fluke.

Ugh I Cry is gonna smash isn't it?
I think...if it goes #1, Flo Rida will be the first male lead artist to have 4 #1s in the digital era? What an...interesting prospect.

I see what you mean, but I believe 'Moves Like Jagger' gave Maroon 5 the much needed boost to their careers at that time, especially in the US, after the lackluster - success-wise - 'Hands All Over' era. 'Payphone' and 'One More Night' would have probably become hits on their own had MLJ not existed, but that song certainly helped the two singles released so far from 'Overexposed' reach new heights because it gave the band new momentum on the charts.

Funny thing is it looks like Marron 5's OMN is tanking in sales now. Lets see if it creates enough room for psy to hit #1.

OMN's airplay gains have been insane. Reminds me of Payphone except this one wasn't blocked from #1. Psy would have to hold on at least a couple more weeks until it really has a decent shot at #1, but even then Ke$ha or Rihanna may be right on its tail by then.

It's not unusual for artists to ride on a wave of success. Take Rihanna or Katy Perry for example. Katy releases Part of me and it's a huge hit, then she releases Wide Awake and it's a huge hit. If she were to release a next single, it would probably be a hit too. Now if Christina Aguilera released Wide Awake or Part of me I'm quite sure they wouldn't have been such big hits. And it has nothing to do with the quality of the song, it's all about the public's willingness to embrace a certain artist.

Would they have not been as big? Perhaps. Would they have flopped without MLJ? Lol no.
