The last days the mediabse update is very late, just like today.
So this update is not the official one, but the one from Kworb. It's slightly different from the real one:

1. MAROON 5 - One More Night: 167.970 (+ 0.756)
I love that song, but please start falling.
"Die Young" should be bold, if it got a (+ 1.605) update.

I also like OMN, but I think it's way overrated right now. What's funny, is that with the old formula OMN wouldn't even had 1 week at #1. Gangnam Style, Live While We're Young & I Knew You Were Trouble would have been #1.

That's a rather bold claim. I wouldn't even call it the weakest #1 song of the year by any stretch of the imagination. As for timing, this has far more competition knocking at its door than the average #1 hit does... so I don't think suggesting that it's only being inflated to the top due to January-esque musical drought is accurate at all.

^ Horrible Billboard rule in 1997 regarding "Something About" flipping with "Candle in the Wind 1997" It was clear this was an exceptional single for one reason only: So why not make a rule-exception and keep "Candle i1997" as the a-side? Truly painful. It ALWAYS looked weird.

It's definitely the weakest #1 single in awhile. This song is only managing to hang around because of radio programmers not the general public.

I think Whistle was worse. At least Lights and Wide Awake hung around longer after it blocked them both from #1. I mean Whistle is gone completely from the top 20 AirPlay.

I love how some of y'all are using opinions and personal anecdotes in determining what makes a "weak" #1. Haha The numbers don't lie. "One More Night" is a huge hit with massive airplay and great sales. That's all there is to it, really.

^Indeed. Though maybe some mean "weakest" in terms of looking at both airplay and sales together?

It's been #1 in airplay for a few weeks now, and it's hung around in the iTunes top 5 for seemingly months. I think it's...also huge on streaming? I don't find that weak. I also happen to really like the song - and their whole album - but that is beside the point.

^Indeed. Though maybe some mean "weakest" in terms of looking at both airplay and sales together? I think they're talking about the song itself and I feel the same way too although I like it a lot. It doesn't reach a climax, it's the same catchy tune throughout the whole song... which is obviously clicking with the public so props to them.

Based on iTunes right now and how it compares to Speak Now...I'm gonna assume one should multiply what Taylor would have gotten before the formula change by 1.5-2 to get her (worse) chart position. I'm also going to ignore the previously released tracks in both accounting for them and counting them against songs' positions. Complete the Album makes them too unknowable.
At Monday around 4 PM PST: Sparks Fly iTunes #1=Hot 100 #17 (Between 26-34) 22 3 Everything Has Changed 4 Innocent 5=27 (Between 41-54) I Almost Do 6 Story of Us 7=41 (Between 62-82) All Too Well 8 Dear John 9=54 (Between 81-N/A) Revenge 12=56 (Between 84-N/A) Stay Stay Stay 14 Haunted 15=63 (Between 95-N/A) Treacherous 15 Last Time 17
I'm guessing 6 charters, which is what I expected as that puts it even with Fearless: higher popularity for Taylor, more difficult for digital-only songs to chart. And 0-2 T40 hits.

People have been downplaying the success of Payphone and One More Night, but honestly both sold singles, did well in streaming, did really well in airplay, AND sold the cd. Obviously they are connecting to a large audience or they aren't "just there" for most pop audiences.

Obviously they are connecting to a large audience or they aren't "just there" for most pop audiences. Mhmmm. I think their "weak" is because #1)There male songs with no female features #2)Alot of songs with hype were release in the last month or so(Ke$, Ri, Bruno, Adele, Xtine, Taylor, ect). So we are all talking about them and their new hits.

It was #9 radio songs, #20 digital songs, #20 on-demand songs, #14 hot 100 last week. Sales and streaming are what is holding it back at this point, but continuing to gain on radio will get more points and probably more sales as well. #28 iTunes currently, so probably top 20 with Taylor songs gone.
