I hate it. I can't believe I'm saying this, but after seeing that, I hope we never change our layout.

From some of the comments, it sounds as if the switch is happening automatically. For example, in responding to why this isn't happening until April...
I mean...it's not awful, and somebody with good knowledge of code could customize it for us. I like it better than a lot of the other forum designs. But I do prefer the current version.

How is it possible to release a new forum software in 2013 that looks straight out of 2006? Also funny that they're already nearing the completion of v6 before they even release v5...

I kinda like it... I especially like the avatar size increase.
Edit: Oh, just kidding; that's just the avatar size of that thread, not what it will be like.

How do we know what it looks like?

^The link above takes you to a demonstration of what the new forums, by default, will look like.

I think it looks great, I'm wondering if it'll have more customizing tools for the admin as well.
btw, reading through the link, I think the board will be updated automatically. So expect so ProBitch-fuckery on that day.

I've been reading some of the comments on the site and it seems like people are saying it is easily customizable.
If any of the mods/admins want to sign up for the testing version in a few weeks and invite me, I'd be happy to make suggestions and tinker with the code, although I am by no means an expert. ;)

Wow. ProBoards caught up with 2002.
I don't really have an opinion either way. It looks bulkier, but I have signatures hidden anyway.

Visually it's meh, although that obviously can be changed with coding. Having dealt with Support Forum a few weeks ago (they are v5), I know the PM function is much nicer. They all go in the same message, no need for quoting over and over, you can read back 20 messages with the same person easily, etc. Also nice is the function to see all threads you've posted in in the past.
Also you can tag people. @whateverusername or whatever and then they get a notification.
So basically I think getting coding to look nice and it will have nice new functions.

I'm afraid that the change might ruin our archive of old posts, for one thing.

Also you can tag people. @whateverusername or whatever and then they get a notification. If this becomes a thing I will abuse this like you abuse the like button, mark my words. I'm afraid that the change might ruin our archive of old posts, for one thing. I just achieved my magnum opus and now this? I'm mad, bro.

Change worries me. Also you can tag people. @whateverusername or whatever and then they get a notification. I'm making a list of users with no posts that I can tag, to pretend I have friends.

I'm fairly certain that when you tag them, the name becomes a link to their profile so then people would know they're not real...

It sounds like it will offer tons of great new features, but... I LOATHE the look of it. It's so... bulky and weird. However, the link brought me to my new favorite gif and a possible new avatar...

I'm going to play around with the v5 formatting after I get off this boat and see if I can come up with a skin that is a little more attractive / similar to the current one.

How does this look? I just got rid of the circle around the avatar, which I think looked awful.

I like what you've done with it. I still much prefer the old design, though.

I like it better without the rounded rectangle around the avatar, but I think it'd be better without them around the quote/edit/like/settings buttons too.

I like it too! I like that the background color is white instead of grey. I think it looks cleaner and more streamlined.
