I like it too! I like that the background color is white instead of grey. I think it looks cleaner and more streamlined. The default alternates posts between white and a light grey color. I tried changing both to white but it didn't look as nice. So I made the grey even lighter and I think it looks pretty good.

How is it possible to release a new forum software in 2013 that looks straight out of 2006? Also funny that they're already nearing the completion of v6 before they even release v5... I actually think the current form as it stands right now looks circa 2002. A circa 2006 would still be in the right direction. It's probably alot better functionality wise and design wise but I think their designers could still do a better job IMO.

Still playing around with the new form. Here's what I've come up with. I am hoping Pulse will allow me to submit is as an official skin, when I'm done. :) First off, here's how the forums look: The icons you see are being used pursuant to a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY). Under the terms of the license, the icons may be used for free, but redistribution is prohibited and the site must contain proper attribution (I have edited the skin so that attribution appears at the bottom of every page). The copyright owners of the icons are Webdesigner Depot and Iconshock. Next, a new banner: Sorry for messing up the width of the page. :X Let me know if you like it, because if people think it looks dumb, I should stop now, haha.

Nice banner! Much better than the one we currently have.

Yay, thanks guys. :) I don't like the font. I actually really like the one we have already, which I think is Verdana It should be Verdana. I just double-checked and it says it is, unless I'm missing something. In general, I am trying to keep what I like about the current style, which is its simplicity and sleekness, while at the same time updating things like the icons to be music-themed (the default icons in v5 are so large and clunky). Another thing I like about v5 is that the "last edited" line is right-justified and far less obnoxious than in the current format. And I think somebody already mentioned that you can tag posters and it sends a notification to them, which is nice.

I like that banner except for the kerning (or lack thereof), which makes me twitchy. lol The font in the forum list is Verdana; the banner navigation is Trebuchet. Not sure how I feel about mixing them, though it'd probably be best to see them together first to judge from there. Nice work, Khrazy!

Were you talking to yourself in the "popular thread"?

Were you talking to yourself in the "popular thread"? Lol, yes. Trying out different features like the quoting function. And also just generally enjoying my own company. I'm pretty hilarious. ;) I like that banner except for the kerning (or lack thereof), which makes me twitchy. lol I tried out several different fonts, and I liked this one the best. I see what you mean, though. If there is another font you think might work better, let me know and I'll try it out. :) I haven't changed any of the fonts yet. Is the general rule that the fonts should be the same throughout (like I said, I'm really no expert in this department, haha. I've done some image designing for my personal charts and some basic code editing for a blog, but that's pretty much it).

It looks great, and thanks for all the work Khrazy. And I think somebody already mentioned that you can tag posters and it sends a notification to them, which is nice. That was me. It's a handy little feature. Although I can see it being used obnoxiously... But I suppose it's like Facebook so it shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully.

Another neat new feature is that custom fields can be put in users' mini profiles. So where you see "joined," "gender," "posts" and "location" (just posts in v5), you could add something like "stans for:" or "fav genre" and let members type in their own responses. I'll leave that to the admins, though, as that is not something I can do with a skin.

The font in Khrazy's first screencap looks like Verdana to me. It should be Verdana. I just double-checked and it says it is, unless I'm missing something. You know what, I must be going mad. I swear last night it was a different font because now I can see that it is Verdana. Anyway, my only other complain is that, while I like the music theme, I don't like 'flop' for locked threads. Maybe it could be the equivalent of that little microphone icon but with a cracked CD or something? idk.

I have a microphone icon with a mini lock I could use instead.

The font itself on the banner image isn't the issue for me; it's the spacing between it. If you did the logo in a program like Photoshop (or even something free like Inkscape), you can fix the spacing between the characters. I haven't done much study of font choices throughout a site, but I think in most (especially the few I just looked at), they're either uniform throughout (like only Trebuchet or only Verdana) or the header/navigation/headline uses a font that is different enough to distinguish itself from the content/article text, like The Verge mixing Adelle in the headlines/titles with Arial for the content.

Default poll, which I thought was clunky and a little juvenile looking... Edited poll... I've also replaced the flop icon and changed the accent color from pink to blue.

Wow, the poll looks amazing! So excited for this change now! I kind of liked the pink too. It made the site feel like AllAccess.

Clearly we need a pink skin and a blue skin to satisfy everyone.

It made the site feel like AllAccess. Ew at the thought. AllAccess' design is horrendously awful.
