Yeah, GMAYL's airplay promo was Friday-Sunday, which was sense given it was tied to the Super Bowl appearance. It was not a rhythmic-oriented track, so that format didn't give it much luvin' after those first few days. And, naturally, it didn't get any urban play.
No other 2m+ gainers in this latest bunch.

I think the comparisons of #Beautiful and Give Me All Your Luvin' are apt as both feature new "it" artists with Miguel and Nicki. Madonna had the benefit of having Nicki being more known and recognizable than Miguel is but I feel like Miguel holds more credibility since he hasn't been featured on everyone else's songs in the last few years. Plus, Madonna had the super bowl for promo whereas Mariah pretty much only has radio and American Idol. Even if her debut doesn't match Madonna's, it's still pretty impressive taking everything else in consideration.
But like someone already mentioned, comparing both singers is like walking on glass and landmines at this point so we should avoid if it we have any heavy attachment to either one. I think #Beautiful has potential to do well in the long term. It's the type of song that could benefit from a CC deal because without it, radio would be hesitant to add it on its own but with it, it exposes it to more people who will then give it positive call-out, causing radio to hold on to it.
The song is a career investment, not an immediate cashout.

Since we went "there" I just wanna add one thing. I've read some snarky comments last week saying how Mariah defies ageism. That might be all well and true, but I'd just like to remind that when Madonna was 43-44, she was on the "Music" + "Die Another Day" era which spawned multiple top 5 radio hits as well as her last Hot 100 #1 "Music". So it's a bit early for Mariah fans to attack Madonna on the ageism front, as Mariah is still younger than the age Madonna stopped getting effortless US hits.

It's got to the point where you can't talk about Mariah without the fans of the other diva bringing her into the discussion, its really one sided when it comes to which group of fans like to do the comparison, we are perfectly happy just focusing on Mimi if y'all let us ;)

Question: I gather the Quick-Cut info is based on the all-stations Mediabase stations, not just the published panel? Because adding the info from the five formats from yesterday, Mimi Carey/Miguel's total stood at 58.309m- and it's unlikely that 9m came from other formats. Today's five-format total is 35.452 million, from the published panel.

Fingers crossed Pink can get #1 on BDS overall airplay; this will probably be her only day on Mediabase before Justin takes over. She might get tomorrow if she's lucky but that's it.

Thanks, josh.
So, onto predictions for the Mimi Carey/Miguel track... is 125,000 a reasonable sales estimate, or will it be lower given the drop-off over the weekend? In BDS airplay, it looks like it may finish the week with ~35m. And then there's Streaming... perhaps top 30-top 40?
Do we think a top 20 entry is guaranteed, or is it possible it could come in between 21-30?

I'd be pretty surprised if #Beautiful doesn't have long legs on the charts. If radio doesn't play this, they're not going to be open to Mariah at all. I think it's a great song, and i'm not a total Mariah homer.

I'll say #20, but then Billboard will have made a mistake and when the official chart comes out, it will be #19.

How do we get her info so quickly but have to wait for the others? It really isn't a Mariah thread. :)

From Paul Grein's Chart Watch:
“Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton holds at #1 for the third week on Hot Digital Songs (241K). Will it also hold at #1 for the second week on the Hot 100? And how high will “#Beautiful” by Mariah Carey featuring Miguel debut? (It enters Hot Digital Songs at #10 with sales of 114K). You’ll find out later today when we post Chart Watch: Songs.

Yawn for the 2003 chart?? All those songs were cool, Bring Me To Life, Rock Your Body, Get Busy, In Da Club, When I'm Gone.
I Know What You Want was a JAM :) hot song, it was the first top 10 for Mariah since that forgettable #2 peaking hit from 2001...

WHY hasn't Billboard posted their article?
It's NEVER this late.
Is Mariah up to something?
