Radioactive has a good chance to become (one of) the longest running hit(s) on Hot 100.

Radioactive is virtually guaranteed a full year on the charts at this point. I hope it moves to the top 5 so it can break the record Cruise just set. Somehow Radioactive's long climb to the top 5 feels more organic to me than the remix-fueled crossover that is Cruise. I love both songs though.

Re: Retro Chart: If Torn was allowed to chart on the Hot 100, it probably would have been a top 3 year end hit of 1998 correct? (You're Still the One ranked #3)

brady47, probably not. If it had been released as a retail single, yes.
Back around 1999 we know that simply having airplay points would have allowed you to chart on the Hot 100. But without points from sales, it probably would not have hit the top 5 at all, let alone top 3 of the year.

Plus, "You're Still The One" sold almost 2 million copies that year which was bound it to make it top 5 regardless.

Yeah I checked here a bit ago and was like "oh no one posted an update" and then took one for the team and actually went to Billboard's terrible website to try and find the article but it wasn't there. And I was like "oh". Then I went back to not caring~

Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' Remains Atop Hot 100 ChartRobin Thicke spends a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Pharrell. Pharrell, meanwhile, thanks to Daft Punk's 3-2 lift with "Get Lucky," on which he's featured, becomes the first artist in four years to place songs at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously. Imagine Dragons additionally fire up a piece of Hot 100 history, completing a record-establishing trek to the top five. "Lines" locks up the Hot 100's top spot as the chart's top Digital and Airplay Gainer. The track spends a third week at No. 1 on Digital Songs, gaining by 18% to 371,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and reaches the top five on Radio Songs and Streaming Songs: it bound 8-4 on the former chart (96 million all-format audience impressions, up 32%) and 8-5 on the latter (3.7 million U.S. streams, up 6%), according to Nielsen BDS. "Lines" concurrently notches a second week at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and a fifth week atop the R&B Songs chart. "Lines" maintains its command on the Hot 100 with an impressive 18% jump in overall chart points, holding off Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," also featuring Pharrell (billed as featuring Pharrell Williams on the song), which climbs 3-2 (up 1%). The track racks a fourth week at No. 1 on the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (2.1 million, down 14%); holds at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (4.7 million, down 12%) and No. 4 on Digital Songs (195,000, up 1%); and charges 6-5 on Radio Songs (95 million, up 19%). With Pharrell credited as a featured act on the Hot 100's top two songs, he's the first artist to rank at both spots concurrently in almost four years. The Black Eyed Peas last accomplished the feat for four weeks in June/July 2009 when "Boom Boom Pow" spent its last of 12 weeks at No. 1 while follow-up "I Gotta Feeling" waited at No. 2 before the tracks switched positions for two weeks. Among soloists, T.I. had last managed such a double with "Whatever You Like" and "Live Your Life" (the latter title featuring Rihanna) for six weeks in October/November 2008. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us," featuring Ray Dalton, slips 2-3 on the Hot 100 after ruling the tally for five frames (down 7% in overall points). Still, "Hold" continues to gain slightly in airplay, bulleting at No. 2 on Radio Songs (135 million, up 1%) for a third week. The track also crowns Rap Songs for a ninth week. Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" climbs 6-4 on the Hot 100, reaching the top five for the first time in its record-setting 42nd week. The song bests the 34-week ascent to the region of Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise," featuring Nelly, a longevity mark set just three weeks ago. ("Cruise" descends 5-6 on the Hot 100, although it logs a 16th week at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs). Whereas "Cruise" made its lengthy journey by starting at country before crossing over to pop and adult formats, "Radioactive" has traveled its scenic path by starting at rock (it led Alternative Songs for 13 weeks) before finding support at pop and adult radio; it reaches the Pop Songs top 10 (14-10) and bullets at its No. 12 peak-to date on Adult Pop Songs this week. "Radioactive," atop Hot Rock Songs for a 13th week, reaches a new peak on Digital Songs, rising 5-2 (207,000, up 8%) and, as on Pop Songs, enters the top 10 on Radio Songs (14-10; 69 million, up 22%). It pushes 4-3 on Streaming Songs (4-3; 3.8 million, up 6%). Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" drops 4-5 on the Hot 100, after peaking at No. 2, although it rules Radio Songs for a fifth week (154 million, down 3%). Below Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" at No. 6, the songs at Nos. 7 through 10 on the Hot 100 remain in place from last week: P!nk's former three-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Just Give Me a Reason," featuring fun.'s Nate Ruess (7-7); Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It" (8-8); Ariana Grande's "The Way," featuring Mac Miller (9-9); and Icona Pop's "I Love It," featuring Charli XCX, (10-10). Check Billboard.com tomorrow (June 20), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety and Digital Songs, Radio Songs, Streaming Songs and On-Demand Songs will be refreshed, as they are each Thursday. www.billboard.com/articles/news/1567379/robin-thickes-blurred-lines-remains-atop-hot-100-chart

Week Ending June 16, 2013. Songs: Pharrell Is Chart MVP
Pharrell Williams this week becomes the first artist in the rock era to have a featured credit on both of the week’s top two songs. Eleven previous artists have had the top two the same week, but in each case, they were the lead artist on at least one of those hits. Williams is a guest on both songs: Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.”
Here’s a list of those artists, in chronological order: Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Bee Gees, Ashanti (one lead, one featured), Nelly, OutKast, 50 Cent (one lead, one featured), Mariah Carey, Akon (one lead, one featured), T.I. and the Black Eyed Peas.
Williams, 40, is a three-time Grammy winner. In February 2004, he and his creative partner Chad Hugo (known collectively as the Neptunes) won two Grammys: Producer of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Justin Timberlake’s debut, Justified, which they produced. Three years later, Williams and Ludacris shared the award for Best Rap Song for co-writing their hit collabo “Money Maker,” which reached #1 on both the pop and R&B charts.
“Blurred Lines” holds at #1 on Hot Digital Songs for the third week (371K). That’s the biggest sales tally for any song since the week ending Feb. 17, when “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz peaked with weekly sales of 412K copies. “Blurred Lines” is also #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for the second week.
“Get Lucky” is #1 on Dance/Electronic Songs for the fifth week. The song has sold 1,225,000 copies, which enables it to surpass “One More Time” (1,052,000) to become Daft Punk’s best-seller to date.
Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” jumps from #6 to #4, finally cracking the top five in its 42nd week on the chart. That sets a new record for the slowest climb to the top five in Hot 100 history. The old record was set just last month when “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly cracked the top five in its 34th week. (The old record before “Cruise” was held by Lonestar’s “Amazed,” which took 30 weeks to crack the top five in February 2000.)
“Radioactive” is #1 on Rock Songs for the 13th week. The song has the sound of an instant rock classic in the Coldplay or U2 vein. And when were these bands last in the top five? For Coldplay, it was five years ago with “Viva La Vida.” For U2, it was way back in 1988 with “Desire.” Hits of this magnitude don’t come along very often, no matter who you are.
Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” dips from #4 to #5. The song tops the 2 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s Timberlake’s second song to sell 2 million or more copies in 2013. “Suit & Tie” (featuring Jay-Z) is up to 2,512,000. Timberlake is one of two artists with two songs that have sold 2 million copies in 2013. The other is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
“Mirrors” is #1 on the all-format Radio Songs chart for the fifth week. Things just never quite came together for the song to reach #1 on the Hot 100. It peaked at #2. But it’s in its 10th week in the top 10 and may give Timberlake’s 2006 hit “My Love” (featuring T.I.) a run for its money as the longest-running top 10 hit of his solo career. That smash held tight for 14 weeks.
“Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly dips from #5 to #6. The song spends its 16th week at #1 on Hot Country Songs. That’s the longest run at #1 since Buck Owens’ “Love’s Gonna Live Here” spent 16 weeks on top from October 1963 through February 1964. It’s the longest run at #1 by an ongoing duo since “Slipping Around” by Margaret Whiting & Jimmy Wakely logged 17 weeks on top in 1949-1950.
“Cruise” has sold 4,299,000 digital copies—more than any other song by a country duo. More than that, it’s currently in fourth place among hits by ongoing duos from any genre. It trails LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” (7,695,000) and “Sexy And I Know It” (6,137,000) and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop,” which is in second place between the two LMFAO hits (6,557,000). Two more songs by ongoing duos rank among the top 200 songs in digital history: Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” (3,401,000) and 3OH!3’s “Don’t Trust Me” (3,322,000).
For the second time in four weeks, nothing moved in or out of the top 10. That’s not the easiest neighborhood to break into.
Here's the low-down on this week's top 10 songs.
The Top Five: “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell holds at # for the second week in its ninth week on the chart. This is its third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #5 (158K)…Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” jumps from #6 to #4 in its 42nd week on the chart. This is its ninth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #2 (208K)…Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” dips from #4 to #5 in its 18th week on the chart. This is its 10th week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #11 (115K).
The Second Five: “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly dips from #5 to #6 in its 37th week on the chart. This is its eighth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #9 (118K)…Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It” holds at #8 for the second week in its 10th week on the chart. This is its sixth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #8 (129K)…“The Way” by Ariana Grande featuring Mac Miller holds at #9 for the second week in its 12th week on the chart. This is its third week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #14 (101K)…“I Love It” by Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX holds at #10 for the second week in its 20th week on the chart. This is its eighth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #18 (86K).
“Boys ’Round Here” by Blake Shelton featuring Pistol Annies & Friends may move up from #13, where it has ranked the last two weeks. Digital sales rank: #6 (136K).
Avril Lavigne’s “Here’s To Never Growing Up” is expected to easily surpass its highest ranking to date (#30). Digital sales rank: #7 (131K).
Fall Out Boy’s “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light ’Em Up),” which has climbed as high as #15, is expected to remain in the top 20. Digital sales rank: #10 (115K).
Emeli Sande’s “Next To Me,” which peaked at #25, tops the 1 million in digital sales this week.
Here are key songs that are vying to enter the Hot 100 this week.
Austin Mahone’s “What About Love.” Mahone, 17, has opened shows for Taylor Swift. This is from his album Junior Year, which is set for the fall.
Jack Johnson’s “I Got You.” This is from Johnson’s sixth studio album, From Here To Now To You, which is due Sept. 17.
The Civil Wars’ “The One That Got Away.” This is from the duo’s eponymous sophomore album, which is due Aug. 6.
Several songs by The Voice contestants may enter. Danielle Bradbery, who won the Season 4 competition, is represented with her versions of Jessica Andrews’ “Who I Am” and Rodney Crowell’s “Please Remember Me.” Michelle Chamuel, who came in second, is represented with her version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.” The Swon Brothers, who came in third, are represented with their versions of Kenny Loggins’ “Danny’s Song” and Bob Seger’s “Turn The Page.” Amber Carrington, who was eliminated right before the top three were selected, has her version of Maroon 5’s “Sad.”
AWOLNATION’s “Sail,” which has climbed as high as #30, tops the 3 million mark in digital sales this week. It’s the 199th song to reach this plateau. What will be the 200th? Maroon 5’s 2004 hit “She Will Be Loved” is currently #200 on Nielsen SoundScan’s running list of the best-selling song in its history, but a newer, hotter song may get there first. Place your bets.

Wow I love that top 10 in 1993... has there ever been an all black top 10? There was an all-black top 10 in 2004, I remember CNN reported it and Billboard posted an article. It actually first happened just over 20 years ago, in January 1993. 1-2-93 1."I Will Always Love You," Whitney Houston 2."Rump Shaker," Wreckx-N-Effect 3."If I Ever Fall In Love," Shai 4."In The Still Of The Nite," Boyz II Men 5."Rhythm Is A Dancer," Snap 6."I'd Die Without You," PM Dawn 7."Saving Forever For You," Shanice 8."Good Enough," Bobby Brown 9."What About Your Friends," TLC 10."Real Love," Mary J. Blige Those same ten songs repeated the feat the following week, then Madonna's "Deeper And Deeper" advanced 11-10. For the entire month of December, 1992, the only white act in the top ten was the Heights, with their number one song "How Do You Talk To An Angel." I remember hoping the Heights would drop out before Madonna made it in just to see this unique occurrence happen.

I don't know if it's just me, but following the Hot 100 charts has became really, really boring since the rule changes.
I'm not suggesting it's less accurate now. But I miss the outrageous weeks when a song could debut at #1 or a song could jump into top 10 because of a sales spike (it's not enough now). I feel like we hardly get top 10 debuts these days, let alone #1 debuts.

“Radioactive” is #1 on Rock Songs for the 13th week. The song has the sound of an instant rock classic in the Coldplay or U2 vein. What is he talking about????? This song is a dubstep-alt-rock hybrid, which hardly sounds like Coldplay or U2. I swear Paul Grein needs to lose the personal commentary, it never makes any sense.
