Shania's new single will be "Don't"
The "Don't" video will premiere on CMT on Thursday, December 30.
"Don't" will have its radio debut in January.
The radio release will coinside with the theater release of the Jennifer Lopez and Morgan Freeman movie called "An Unfinished Life."
"An Unfinished Life" is scheduled to be in theaters in January.
"Don't" is featured in the film.

Wrong single to release. I Ain't No Quitter is definately a guaranteed hit for Shania. This I bet will go top 15, if that.
And has it been confirmed this will be the new single? I heard it would be included in a movie and that a video would be made, but haven't heard any talk of the radio single.

"Quitter" would be bad for Winter, it will go in the spring/summer period. I think this song will "click" with listeners, not that country radio cares. Shania says this about Don't!-" Mutt and I wrote this song with the intention of a person driving down the road, hearing this song, and thinking 'Wow, I have really screwed up. I need to call and say Sorry and work this out'".

I like this song, but I really like "I Ain't No Quitter" better. I hope she eventually releases IANQ.
I think she should have released IANQ to country and "Don't" to AC at the same time.

Problem is, PFT hasn't had a chance to perform because of holiday music. COuntry is going to need a single within two months, but its wayy too soon to pull Party on AC... The video will lead the single. The song should hit country radio in early January of 05. Good plan, let the video impact and then send the single..

This is the best of the three new songs on the GH album. However, I don't see it going past #15.

I think it will be a hit on AC (hopefully number 1), but I just don't see country radio playing it. But shaniagotchagood, I agree that PF2 hasn't run its course yet (I really like the country version). Like I said, I just hope they get to release IANQ. Shania said they would, but she has said that about many songs that never got released (most recently Nah!)

We never knew why Nah! was switched to She's Not Just A Pretty Face. Shania said it will be the next single, a video was shot, even in Canada already started to play the song on radio, when it was changed.

The movie "An Unfinished Life" is set to premiere in January. Considering that this is the theme song to the movie, I would expect this to go for adds middle to end of January.
DONT forget that CMT is premiering DONT on December 30th!![/size] ;)

I hope it gets the recognition it deserves....it is a really great song!
How well it does really depends on which format you are talking about. There are a lot of Country radio stations out there that are always hesitant to play anything from Shania regardless of what it sounds like and I think it is a preset conslusion that Mercury are not going to help one bit as usual in helping promote Shania, so fans will have to work twice as hard just to try and get it in the top 10. I think the song will do much better on the non-country formats and better overall internationally then in the US!
As for Video airplay, that shouldn't be a problem, especially considering that the video will be based off a movie, "An Unfinished Life", so there will be extra support for the video ...and don't forget that J-lo is in it, we all know how much music channels love to play anything with her image on it!

Hopefully the video is really good, then again she hasn't made a good video in a LONG time. I think her last good video was "You're Still The One."

Both Man! I Feel Like A Women and That Don't Impress Me Much! videos came out after You're Still The One.
And Ka-Ching! from UP! one of her best videos and was a real hit in Europe. It peaked at #2 on MTV's Cross European top 20 video Countdown, which is the best position her videos ever get there.

Thank God! It looks like a good video from the caps. I'm so glad it wasn't another simple, cheap video like "When You Kiss Me"

I haven't tried it myself, but I've been told that you can watch the "Don't" Video here... site.voila.fr/ShaniaStar/index.htmlI've been told it's not great quality on that site, but that it's a nice video.

Both Man! I Feel Like A Women and That Don't Impress Me Much! videos came out after You're Still The One. "Man!" had a good concept, but the end product was eh. "Impress" is a tacky looking video. I haven't seen "Ka-ching" yet.

Hopefully the video is really good, then again she hasn't made a good video in a LONG time. I think her last good video was "You're Still The One." Man! I Feel Like A Woman is perhaps Shania's most famous video...and That Don't Impress Me Much was a big hit too. (along with Honey I'm Home, Don't Be Stupid & From This Moment On) Also, Ka-Ching, Forever And For Always and I'm Gonna Getcha Good had really successful videos. When it comes to making videos, Shania is one of the most creative artists out there, her last "good video" certainly wasn't "You're Still The One", she has had a truckload since then!

"Man! I Feel Like A Woman" was definitely not creative. ??? In your opinion. In mine it was. And I enjoyed the twist they gave to Robert Palmer's video.

No, I'm saying I don't think recreating a video is very creative. That's like saying covering a song is creative.

No, I'm saying I don't think recreating a video is very creative. That's like saying covering a song is creative. Well, it was bit more than covering a video. It was a parody of it. It definitelly gave a new twist to original video, and the theme of Shania's songs too added to that twist. And you would be surprised how many would think, that covering a song is indeed creative. Afterall, you are in the country part here, where covering is a big part of the business.

No, I'm saying I don't think recreating a video is very creative. That's like saying covering a song is creative. Well IMO the video concept for Man! I Feel Like A Woman was very creative! If you have any knowledge on video imagery then you would know that it was more then just a "recreation of Robert Palmer's video". Only great minds like Shania and Mutt could come up with that rather cleaver pastiche idea and hey, it worked didn't it? The video was a huge success, it fits the song so well and Shania's version even outshined the original!

I think this song will peak at about the same as Party For Two, (around #7), because it seems no matter what song Shania puts out these days, it won't get any higher then that (because of stupied country radio stations)... and i think I ain't no quitter might be able to get her her first top 5 sinse the COme On Over album (IGGG peacked at 6 i think)...
On the AC side.. i personally think DON'T is even better than FAFA, so i think it will peak at 1 for sure.. but i don't think it should be put to AC radio tell about feb/march cuz pf2 still has time to gain alot of spins...
the video looks great btw!! :)
