Don't! is the first Shania song in 3 years to not go top 20.. Oh well.. I dont mind... Although I would have like to see it go higher, I kinda new it wouldn't get top 10.. anywho.. Really wats the difference between a top 30 and a top 20.. a couple hundred spins? Who will really tell the difference, but Chart analyzers...

Yes she did, actually. A year and a half of touring with a cold will do that. :o

Yes she did, actually. A year and a half of touring with a cold will do that. No one seems to believe me and I'm sure it's another argument that will lead to the locking of this thread but who cares? I'm throwing out the truth... Time for the next single! She didn't cancel a single date either!! Although she only had a cold around winter time, her voice was awesome before that (based on bootlegs) although it was eventually affected because of all the dates being cramped together. Shania was performing sometimes as much as 2 hours a night, 4 times a week with travelling between countries in between dates all around Europe! :o She still sounded great though and she truly earns my respect for her "I won't give up" attitude. ;) And she was the TRUE Entertainer Of The Year, the CMA's can kiss my ass for not even nominating her!

She still sounded great though ... It was widely reported that her shows were heavily assisted by auto-tuners and vo-coders. At least, it was clear she didn't sing live on any of the awards shows.

Sure as hell wasn't the people who attended....you just like to spread one lie after another don't you! Shania sang LIVE on her tour, even when her voice got strained. I saw her twice and it was clearly evident that she was singing live. How many times have YOU seen Shania in concert? ...probably never...so don't go around making BS accusations that you can't prove!

Funny how you ignore the updates on AC radio, where Don't! is taking off like a rocket! ;)
Why the bias?

AC is where a "lifeless, mediocre ballad" *, like DON'T belongs.(though, like all of Shania's recent singles, it has started strongly, it will inevitably fizzle, going by her recent chart history of burning early and underperforming fast)
But this is the Country/Americana charts. BTW...the song peaked at # 24 on Billboard's Top Country Singles and Charts. Amazing that not even a top twenty this time.
*critical consensus

A politically fuled mess where generic, unoriginal Nashville creations who can't write their own songs belong....yeah, we can both stereotype! AC actually plays music from a variety of artists and there aren't many signs of politics or industry favouritism involved therefore at least it wins in the credibility contest. ;)

With Shania, there goes their alleged credibility... ;) ...funny because Shania is one of the few true ARTISTS in Country, at least she writes all her own songs and that automatically places her above the "singers" that don't as far as artistic credability goes! ;) She is pretty damn good at it too....80 Million+ people who own Shania's albums can't be wrong! ;) As the saying goes, " Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else."

Another saying goes "better to 'write' your own soulless, fifth-grade-level, childishly inane lyrics, and let your husband slap on generic melodies and hooks, than allow solid songwriters provide you with decent songs"
(That's why after 11 years in the biz, she still has zero credibility as an artist) and since you equate sales with quality,I guess that since COO sold 14 million and UP only 5,and the GH only less than 3 that means that her "artistry" has decreased as well, right? :)

Shania doesn't write "childish" songs...get a damn clue! PLEASE explain to me how songs like You're Still The One, From This Moment On, Forever And For Always, When You Kiss Me, Ka-Ching, She's Not Just A Pretty Face, Black Eyes Blue Tears, The Woman In Me, God Bless The Child, I Won't Leave You Lonely, I Ain't Goin' Down etc etc etc (might as well name all of Shania's freakin' songs) How are they childish? ...you are just so biased, dumb and musically impared and it shows in everything you post, you are throwing insults at Shania that don't even fit! As for sales...look Shania has sold more with COO then what most country artists do in their entire career. All artists sales have declined over the years due to crap like piracy so your little arguement against her "sales declining" is pathetically weak, especially when you compare the sales of a 7 year old album to that of something which has only been released a couple of years and refuse to acknowledge the fact that Shania STILL outsells over 90% of all other artists today. The fact that you are trying to insult Shania's artistic credability shows how ignorant you are...what do you know about credibility? Your posts don't have any....you NEVER back up ANYTHING you say...You make up LIES....You go from messageboard to messageboard just to bash Shania 24/7....you are nothing more then a jealous, prejudice hypocritical Internet troll who is oblivious to the truth! Anyway, this will be my last direct reply to anything you post because it is just a pointless waste of time arguing with you.

Good. Sunday Update 27 (from 26) SHANIA TWAIN Don't! 1209 spins(down from 1389) -180 8.876 audience impressions (down from 9137) Sunday Second update (2:08 PM) SHANIA TWAIN Don't! rank -27 down from 22 last week) 1160 spins, down from 1389 8.535 Audience impressions, down from 8.876 Monday Update SHANIA TWAIN Don't! rank 28 (down from 27) 1096 spins (down from 1389) 8.025 Audience impressions (down from 8876) " Shania's latest non-hit, the middling DON'T, has become the Canadian vocalist's fourth single in the last three years not to reach the American Billboard Country Charts' Top Twenty, peaking at a mediocre (for Shania) # 24. Before that one, the songs Ka-Ching, Thank You Baby and When You Kiss Me-all modest hits in other countries- also failed to make the chart's upper regions. They were all released to both country and AC formats, and they all came from her last studio album, UP, which sold a disappointing -for Shania- 9 million copies worldwide, after the blockbuster success of the 25-million selling Come On Over. " Consider yourself lucky...I will give you one last bit of attention just to correct this lie you posted. 1. Source please? ...or is it just another fabricated piece of BS that you made up as usual? 2. Coming from someone who can't even get Up! and COO's sales figures right....yeah really reliable!! 3. Ka-ching, WYKM and Thank You Baby were NOT released as singles in the US, PERIOD!They may have gotten themselves some airplay but so did In My Car, Nah!, I'm Not In The Mood, Cest La Vie etc. Once an album is comercially avaliable radio stations can play ANY song from it. However, A song isn't going to go anywhere unless it is actually released so comparing a single with a non-single is ridiculously stupid. ....although that is your little game isn't it NYFake? you don't like the word "fair" because you know Shania will always prevail! ;) So go ahead...keep comparing illogical things that make zero sense....all the while I am going to advise everyone to completely IGNORE you and your lies because you are nothing more then a double talking jive mother****er! ;)
