I think it was a safe move from Katy Perry to release "Roar". It's not similar from the Teenage Dream singles, but I would have preferred if she has done something different. Is it going to be a hit for her? Yes. Is radio going to play it a lot and become a CHR/Pop smash? Yes. Is "Roar" going to top the Hot 100? Too early to tell, I guess. Personally, I think it's a grower. It gets better and better every time I listen to it, especially the chorus. Also, I think it could benefit "Brave" in a sort of way.
Random question: Did "California Gurls" leak on a Saturday too? I don't remember exactly this.

This song is very similar to Sara bareilles Brave.I played roar for my 14 year old son and he said "Daddy that sounds like Sara bareilles Brave". I then went on youtube and both songs are eerily similar.

Blurred Lines aside, and that is a GREAT song, what else could top this right now? Clarity? lol. Love Somebody? lol. Treasure? lol. We Can't Stop? lol. Absolutely NO!!!!!!! I don't think this is safe, I think she nailed the perfect lead single at the perfect time. Granted, this could've probably come out in July, but it didn't. They waited. If it were my label, I probably would've waited another 2 weeks or so, but all in all, this is a slam-dunk. |
