What inspired the "Get Me Bodied" re-entry? A Beyonce performance or random use in a video?

Thanks- I found one that has 6.7m views- A good amount must be coming from the USA, I gather.
It's just... odd... that these things count for the chart, when the audio isn't even great in a lot of cases; muddled background music, this sounds like.

"Dope" shot straight in at the top, but it had a rather dramatic fall, didn't it? Doesn't Complete My Album only impact the week an album is released?

This must have happened around 11pm om Sunday night. However, there should be some policy as if the CMA takes place before the tracking week, then the actual album sales should also be counted like street date violations.

'Complete My Album' impacts the week anyone chooses to carry out such a transaction regardless of the week

'Complete My Album' impacts the week anyone chooses to carry out such a transaction regardless of the week Apple shouldnt have let people complete their purchases early. It makes no sense to count the album sales for this week when completed purchases were done in e last tracking week. That is where things get weird.

If that's how the pre-order thing works, that's weird- it really should only count the week an album is released. But this pre-order-and-get-the-track-weeks-later-when-it's-released tactic is pretty new, so maybe that is how it works. Nonetheless, the 30K is all that gets applied to the chart points, yes?

I just noticed two more things from Paul Grein's Blog: 1) Get Me Bodied debuts at #46 - what streaming caused this to happen????? 2) Applause only sold 4K because of CMA - isn't the chart for the tracking week BEFORE ARTPOP was released? Did that many people suddenly do CMA a few days before the album release? That seems bizarre and I don't recall other examples of that. Grein mentions that Applause was selling around 80K before this week - even with the depressed sales of last week (say, it would've sold 60K, that would be another 50+ on top of pre-orders.) Those numbers don't seem to add up with projected sales. 1. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop-shop/5785670/double-mastectomy-patient-has-dance-party-to-beyonces-get-meOk to me this is bad. The song is being played through a CD player and that's the audio you hear. It's not like the GONE video where she cued the song to the video so the audio is good. Get Me Bodied is not the 46th most popular song in America this week. Totally retarded. . Billboard needs to fix this before some dumb video goes reeeeeeally viral and the song in the background debuts at #1. It'll be a joke.

Gorilla falling already. Is this Brunos first top 40 song to not hit the top 10?
And Aw Naw is easily one of my favorite song titles. Laugh everytime I see it. Probably should buy it because of that.

As a Bey fan, I'm thrilled to see 'GMB' now has a new peak, however, I don't agree w/how it was done. This streaming points usage has too much power in the formula.

I agree BB needs to re-examine how it captures video streaming.

So if there were a bunch of these complete my album things redeemed, does that mean ARTPOP technically "sold" that many in the week for the chart before its release date?

I agree BB needs to re-examine how it captures video streaming. Harlem Shake was a cultural phenomenon though, plus it sold a ton. My only issue with Harlem Shake was that you only had to listen to 30 seconds of it for it to count. If you're going to count streaming, at least make it the whole song. That would have stopped the ridiculous streaming points HS had.

Whether it is 30 seconds or 30 minutes I think means nothing. There was still an interest in the song during that period

Get Me Bodied is #46 this week, it will be gone next week. I for one like the random re-entries. I believe it is a much more accurate picture of popular music, with it than without it.

They're 1 minute 30 seconds. When people were 'listening' to HS, they were more interested in watching the video. At least with an iTunes sample, people are interested in hearing it.

If they can find a way to measure that, it would be a form of streaming and one way to improve on the formula

to me curiosity about a song or video, shouldn't be a factor in determining the most popular songs in the country.
