As previously reported, Lorde's "Royals" rules the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week and Lady Gaga debuts at No. 8 with "Dope." Who else is royalty (or at least worthy of mention …) on song charts this week?
-- Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert: The Nov. 6 Country Music Association Awards, broadcast on ABC, invigorate Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, where Urban and Lambert bring the first male/female duet to the summit in more than two years. A performance on the show helps lift their "We Were Us" 6-1 (and 55-26 on the Hot 100). It jumps 9-2 on Country Digital Songs (74,000 downloads sold, up 181%, according to Nielsen SoundScan), while continuing its climb on Country Airplay (5-4; 39.6 million audience impressions, up 2%, according to Nielsen BDS). "Us" is the first male/female duet to reach No. 1 since the gala's co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's "Remind Me" topped the Sept. 10, 2011, chart.
-- AWOLNATION: With a 62nd week on the Hot 100 (26-35), "Sail" becomes one of the 10 longest-charting entries in the list's 55-year history. It peaked at No. 17 the week of Oct. 12. Another song in the category should also keep adding to its total: seventh-place Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" (21-23) tallies its 63rd week.
-- Beyonce: Thanks to a now-viral video shot in a hospital operating room, Bey's "Get Me Bodied" re-enters Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at No. 14. The energetic track off of her 2006 album "B'Day" spent 48 weeks on the list during its initial run, with a No. 10 peak on June 23, 2007. Beyonce's last appearance as a lead artist on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs was with "Dance for You," which peaked at No. 7 on Oct. 20, 2012. Her only previous 2013 showing was as the featured act on Jay Z's "Part II (On the Run)," which debuted and peaked at No. 29 in July. On the Hot 100, "Bodied returns at a new high of No. 46; it first peaked at No. 68 in an 18-week run in 2007.
-- James Wolpert: The contestant on NBC's "The Voice" brings Joni Mitchell's 1971 classic "A Case of You" to the Hot 100 (No. 72) for a second time. Mitchell's version actually wasn't the prior one to chart. Can you guess whose cover did? The answer is at the end of this column. Shifting 71,000 downloads, Wolpert's interpretation scores the best first-week sales for a track from the show this season.
-- Britney Spears: "Perfume," the second single from her eighth studio album, "Britney Jean" (due Dec. 3), starts at No. 76 on the Hot 100 and No. 28 on Hot Digital Songs (49,000). Lead track "Work B**ch!" peaked at No. 12 on the Hot 100 and No. 6 on Hot Digital Songs. "Perfume" adds 4 million in first-week audience and 309,000 opening-week streams, according to BDS.
-- John Legend: The crooner scores his highest Adult Contemporary peak in his second appearance on the list, as "All of Me" enters at No. 30. (It's No. 97 on the Hot 100.) His "Ordinary People" reached No. 32 (on the then-40-position AC chart) in 2006. "All" bullets at No. 8 on Adult R&B, where it's his fifth top 10; he first reached the region, peaking at No. 2, with "Ordinary," which helped spur his win for the 2005 best new artist Grammy Award. Columbia plans to promote "All" to adult top 40 next. "Women are melting" over the love song's lyrics, says the label's senior VP of promotion/adult formats Pete Cosenza.
-- Cage the Elephant: The band reaches No. 1 on the Alternative airplay chart, as "Come a Little Closer" climbs 2-1 with Greatest Gainer honors. The band previously led with three songs: "Back Against the Wall" and "In One Ear" (2010) and "Shake Me Down" (2011). The act's new No. 1 appears on its third studio album, "Melophobia," which bowed at No. 6 on Rock Albums last month.
-- Pearl Jam: The group likewise adds a new airplay chart No. 1, as "Sirens" lifts 2-1 on Triple A. While Pearl Jam has been a visitor to the survey since its 1996 launch, the band didn't first top the tally until its last entry, "Just Breathe," spent 13 weeks at the summit in 2010. At seven chart weeks, "Sirens" reaches No. 1 in half the time it took "Breathe" to rise to the top.
-- Bon Jovi: The Jersey rockers' 1987 Hot 100 No. 1 "Livin' on a Prayer" enters Hot Rock Songs at No. 19. The classic soars onto Rock Streaming Songs with 1.1 million U.S. streams (up 366%) thanks to renewed viral interest in a 2009 video of Boston Celtics basketball fan Jeremy Fry dancing to it at a game. A clip uploaded to YouTube on Oct. 17 has drawn 5 million worldwide views alone.
-- Aude: The DJ/remixer collects a seventh No. 1 on Dance Club Songs with "Electricity & Drums (Bad Boy)" (3-1). Remixes from Inphinity + Kalendr, Nacho Chapado & Ivan Gomez and Sultan + Ned Shepard, among others, have fueled the cut's journey to the top.
-- Wisin: The singer climbs 4-1 on Latin Airplay with "Que Viva La Vida," his first chart-topper as a soloist. The song posts a 35% increase to 14 million audience impressions. Wisin's last time atop the chart was alongside Yandel on "Algo Me Gusta de Ti" (featuring Chris Brown and T-Pain), which spent a week at No. 1 in October 2012. "Algo" is one of 10 No. 1s Wisin tallied with Yandel between 2005 and last year.
-- Banda el Recodo de Cruz Lizarraga: The act posts its lucky 13th No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay, as "Vas a Llorar Por Me" hops 3-1. Just three acts boast more No. 1s on the ranking: Conjunto Primavera, Intocable (16 each) and Los Tigres del Norte (14).
