11. KATY PERRY – Roar: 80.246 (- 1.097) 12. KATY PERRY – Unconditionally: 80.184 (- 1.279) ▼ Called it. Also re: Beyonce - First the single was supposedly XO. Then Blow/Drunk In Love dual release. Have they even been made official yet? I imagine we'll see lots of Beyonce adds come Monday/Tuesday. XO goes to pop tomorrow if I'm not mistaken.

12. KATY PERRY - Unconditionally: 78.685 (- 1.499) KATY PERRY - Dark Horse: 21.046 (+ 2.044) Because of so much love for Dark Horse (which is a promotional Single), Katy's Official Single Unconditionally was left in the corner..... Still hoping for it to reach at least top 10 though...... In the brighter side, Dark Horse is already set to be her 3rd single...... probably it will be released as an official single earlier next year....

With the gains it's making, there may not be a pushed release for "Dark Horse," in terms of radio promotion. Stations may just pick it up as the weeks go by.

"Dark Horse" was officially sent to rhythmic radio (but not yet for adds) and possibly pop radio as well. While not an "official" single per say, it's more than just a promo single at this point.

Another huge update for timber! :) With the monster peaking on the radio, it's just matter of time that timber takes its place on the billboard soon. (Unless someone comes out with a bigger record outta nowhere and blocks it, but timber is already a #1 hit anyway) Timber has been topping iTunes US for 1 month already! That's impressive for a dance/club record.

OneRepublic also had a big update. That may be the one taking over first place. Ryan Tedder is quite busy between that and penning Beyonce's about to be released single XO. He may be counting dollars more than counting stars soon.

What I meant to say was why aren't the Christmas songs going up by that much? Since Christmas is less then 2 weeks away, I would think it would be getting tons of more airplay.

And now it's time once again to take a look back at the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 charts for exactly 55, 50, 45, and 40 years ago this week.
What was the "must have" Christmas toy of 1958? If you know the answer is the hula hoop, then you are either old enough to remember, or you have undoubtedly heard "The Chipmunk Song," which accomplished two big things when it was released in late 1958; one, it introduced the world to the Chipmunks, who are still popular today more than 50 years later, and two, it became one of the very first honored records at the brand new Grammy awards ceremony, winning 3 of the statues for the Chipmunks' creator and voice supplier, Ross Bagdasarian AKA David Seville.
Oh yes, it was also the #1 song of Christmas 1958, as well as the last #1 song of 1958.
December 22, 1958 (for week ending December 28, 1958)

On September 12, 1973, the ABC network telecast a movie called "She Lives" about a young woman dying of cancer and the young man who loves her. For the movie soundtrack they used a song written by singer/songwriter Jim Croce called "Time In A Bottle." After the movie aired, the network affiliates were flooded with calls from people all across the country wanting to know where they could find the song. Eight days later on September 20, 1973, Jim Croce and five others were killed when their privately charted plane hit a tree shortly after takeoff. "Time In A Bottle" instantly took on an even more poignant tone and shortly after it was released as a single in late 1973, it gave Jim Croce only the third posthumous #1 song (after Otis Redding and Janis Joplin) in Hot 100 history.

"Birthday" should follow "Dark Horse", it's the most obvious hit on the album apart from "Roar" and would be ideal for summer. I think "Ghost" and "This is how we do" will perform better is anyone else having a problem multiquoting on their phone? well they should send dark horse for jan- apr birthday for apr-july this is how we do july-oct legendary lovers nov-feb walking on air and/or ghost.

Do What U Want, hehe. And she has no more hits on Artpop, I bet Interscope is panicking. Applause was a hit. And Do What You Wat on the voice finale will boost its sales

Speaking of that why aren't the Christmas songs bulleting? Probably because most stations are in a set rotation for holiday music at this point. AC stations that are all-holiday can't increase the play anymore, and Top 40 and the like are still just putting in holiday songs randomly. I doubt there will be any more big increases until the 24th.

I think Timber is definitely going to be the big winner with Christmas gift cards this year.
DWUW still does not have a video, which I think is impeding its success. She had so much positive buzz around it during SNL/AMAs and has kind of let that dwindle. Bummer.
Kudos to Ellie and Lorde though for smashing with their latest!

No guarantee of that. of course that goes without saying. purely speculative but i do feel like the doubt has been there since 2009 and about 7#1s later...but yes nothing is guaranteed.
