I like that one Pitbull song where he mentions Dade county and calls himself Mr. Worldwide. Β‘Dale!

I am glad I have my own charts, because Timber along with about 50% of the other songs are not on my chart. Shocking.

I listened to the Billboard podcast where they discussed Timber and the chart guy said the majority of the song was sung by Ke$ha. He broke it down by percentage where her vocals was over half of the song. They couldn't figure out why the song isn't a duet instead of just featuring. If Timber gets to #1 then it looks like Ke$ha would deserve most of the credit. They also looked at Pitbull's past song where the majority of it was him repeating the same 2 or three phrases over & over. I can't remember which song (maybe the one with Ne Yo?) and again Pitbull was the minority of the vocals. I do like Pitbull songs as they're fun dance songs but I'm wondering if maybe he's just a little bit lazy and taking too much credit or maybe he's just a nice master manipulator who gets other singers to do the majority of the work/singing while he just gets the credit.

All valid points. And yet, in another example, we have Apologize. Arguably one of the biggest international hits of all-time but is "technically" a Timbaland song. That travesty still irks me to this day.

Pitbull is not lazy! He writes and co produces his songs. I think he is not selfish and likes to share the spotlight. Also, I think that his hook singers are only getting featuring credit because they only lend their voice. It's known that Pit has others co writers who write the hook for his hook singers, so why his guest collaborators have to get the same credit if it's Pit who is inviting them to sing in the great tunes he gives them? I think they are lucky that a popular singer like Pit pick them in first place. He gives them radio/iTunes exposure. Also, this song was co written by Priscila/Pit and others. Pit said that Timber hook was meant to be for Rihanna and give me everything for Shakira! Please provide the billboard article to read that shade against Pit, because it sounds fake to me. If that's true, they are wrong! The highlight of timber is the harmonicas and Pitbull's swing your partner! The hook is a cheap copy of crazy kids. Same beats and same voice! Nothing new.

Men and adults enjoy Pit's music. He is on the list of the most pirated artists along Bruno, Rihanna, Florida. His music is on demand. Kesha's voice only appeals to teens. Luke was smart in teaming up with Pit!

The highlight of timber is the harmonicas and Pitbull's swing your partner! The hook is a cheap copy of crazy kids. Same beats and same voice! Nothing new. It's on the December 12th Billboard podcast. The percentage they say on Timber was 67% Ke$ha and 30% Pitbull with 3% being just music at the beginning. They said something like it was one long chorus & he saved a lot of time by not bothering to write verses, lol. But I don't think they were trying to throw shade. It was just an observation. Nothing to take too seriously if you're a fan.

The chorus to "Timber" is so moving and captivating. How does Queen Sebert do it time and time again? :'(

Pitbull is so lucky to have people like Xtina, Ke$ha, Ne-Yo, Men in Black etc to help him get hits. Too bad they can't help him sell his album :(

Billboard is pro diva just like Pulse forum, (they even ignored Juicy J last week)so their opinions are just opinions. The reality is that the public is here for Pit. The presence of Pit in timber is memorable. He has 2 verses and 2 pre chorus, while Kesha's doesn't even have a bridge or a verse. She is just repeating the hook over and over again. Plus, her fans should be happy that Pit let her sing this much, (Maroon 5 gave 10-20 seconds to Aguilera)! And to the people who is dissing Pit's album sales! Planet pit and global warming outsold warrior lotus/bionic WW/US. Nice try. :)

Plus keep in mind that Kesha previous singles flopped comercially and Kesha has a polarizing image with the public too.( She needs to clean her image to comeback) so Pit also took a risk by picking her! And to the people who is dissing Pit's album sales! Planet pit and global warming outsold warrior lotus/bionic WW/US. Nice try. :) Ring me when Pit sells over a million in the states like K$ or sells 10 Mili like Xtine...I'll wait..... And unlike Pit, Ke$ha and Xtina have both scored number ones all by themselves(same with Ne-You). You should send out thank you cards on his behalf! I'll help. XO

While I can understand how Pitbull (like Flo Rida, will.i.am, and the others of the most provocative rappers of the past few decades) is evoking such passion, please everyone remember to keep the discussion civil and about the music (preferably even about the Hot 100).

Is Pitbull's name really Armando? Heh, today I learned....
That's really the only new information I've gotten from this thread today. Pitbull doesn't write all of his songs and his featured guests technically have more time on the track? It doesn't mean anything bad about Pitbull. It just says that he picks catchy songs, knows who can make a hook pop (like Kesha, Ne-Yo, or Christina), and has a good business model. He's built up this brand of "party rap" that a lot of people are really enjoying. Hell, I was one of Pitbull's biggest detractors, but I can't deny that "Timber" is one catchy and fun song.

Jback: according to RCA pit has sold 5 million albums WW. Kesha has sold 4 million WW. Keep in mind that Pit took off until 2009, same year as her. :) And Pit has been more consistent. Max: he is always credited first!why do you think he is mentioned first? And yes, he co produces because he provides ideas. He tells them how he wants his songs. Pit is behind his music, cause he tweeted 4 months ago" putting the last touches to finish timber.' Also, Feel this moment was written by a girl from Canada and timber by Priscilla and other guys. ( Priscilla and other guys are mentioned before Kesha in the GW EP credits. (you can read the song writers of the song on your iPod) If Christina would have written the hook of feel this moment like her fans think, believe me that feel this moment would have been credited by Pit and Christina (Not ft Christina.) Probably she added the oh oh part which is her signature singing style. :) And Kesha added " pitballs" but I'm not lying Pricilla Pit and other guys wrote her part. Happy new year everyone! :)

Max: he is always credited first!why do you think he is mentioned first? I'm going to be polite. Can you please stop lying? He isn't always mentioned first. Did you not see the credits I listed above? In Feel This Moment, he isn't first. If he was *always* first, he'd *always* be first? You also said he co-produced his songs yet he wasn't included in the credits for production on a SINGLE song. I'm so confused. Only I'm not. And I'm done being polite.

I'm not lying, why you sound mad? Take it easy please. I already told you that he gives ideas to his producers even though he doesn't get credit for that, he got credits for co producing/mixing shake senora and Pause. They were the most popular non singles tracks of PP). He is credited first in everything, with the exception of feel this moment, because FTM samples 'take on me,' so he gives credit to the original authors first. Second, Pit is also credited as executive producer of Planet Pit and Global Warming. Which means he is behind the whole creative process of his music. :) ------------- Back to the topic: Burn by Elie is gaining steam. It's such a grower!

All valid points. And yet, in another example, we have Apologize. Arguably one of the biggest international hits of all-time but is "technically" a Timbaland song. That travesty still irks me to this day. Didnt Tmbaland produce the record? No. The proper credit should've been "Apologize (Timbaland Remix)" by OneRepublic. He changed the beat slightly. Honestly it gave them a breakthrough hit to have his name there so I don't think they're too upset about it.
