Ya think, Disco? It's not on the so-bad-it's-good level of Showgirls, though. :) Basic Instinct did it better than BOE, but I agree that M was in fine shape- didn't love the lack of eyebrows, though.
Nice honor for M- a little late, given it started in 2007, but these things also depend on other factors- i.e. timing, availability, etc.

This isn't that big of a deal. Billboard picks a different woman each year:
2007: Reba McEntire 2008: Ciara 2009: Beyoncé 2010: Fergie 2011: Taylor Swift 2012: Katy Perry 2013: Pink 2014: Taylor Swift 2015: Lady Gaga 2016: Madonna

Anything that keeps her name floating around is good. Yes, may be a generic achievement, but hey, I'll take it. Hope she wears something with color and not just black.

Just revisited her Prince tribute and it was awesome. Great vocals and beautifully appropriate.

Madonna "opened" for Amy Schumer's MSG gig tonight. She did some stand-up.

Yes. She offered to give a blowjob to any guy who supports Hillary. She said she's good - she makes eye contact, she takes her time, and she swallows. Keep it

If it's anything like her Evian bottle ones, we'll see. Yes. She offered to give a blowjob to any guy who supports Hillary. She said she's good - she makes eye contact, she takes her time, and she swallows. Keep it Oh come on. Don't act like you'd turn it down. #DontItTasteLikeHolyWater

Did she just recently watch the Lego movie....everything has been awesome lately?
Will she be nominated for Songwriting tomorrow?:
The Songwriters Hall gave The Associated Press the list of nominees Thursday, a day ahead of its official announcement. Other performing nominees include George Michael, Madonna, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Kool & the Gang, Cat Stevens, Sly Stone, Chicago, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne and David Gates.

She's been nominated twice this far- will the third time be a charm? If that's the full list of performer nominees, she may have a shot this year.

www.accesshollywood.com/articles/bc-us-music-songwriters-hall2nd-ld-writethru/ Jay Z, Madonna Among Nominees For The 2017 Songwriters Hall Of FameOctober 20, 2016 8:35 AM PDT Jay Z, one of contemporary music's most celebrated lyricists and entertainers, is one of the nominees for the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame, and if inducted he would become the first rapper to enter the prestigious music organization. The Songwriters Hall gave The Associated Press the list of nominees Thursday, a day ahead of its official announcement. Other nominees that could be inducted next year are George Michael, Madonna, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Babyface, Max Martin, Kool & the Gang and more. Eligible members can vote for three non-performing songwriters and two performing songwriters until Dec. 16. Five songwriters, or songwriting groups, will be officially inducted at a gala in New York on June 15, 2017. Other performing nominees include Cat Stevens, Sly Stone, Chicago, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne and David Gates. Non-performing nominees are Kenny Nolan, Randy Goodrum, Tony Macaulay, William "Mickey" Stevenson, Allee Willis, Maury Yeston, Paul Overstreet and the songwriting duos Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham, and Steve Barri and the late P.F. Sloan, who died last year. Songwriters are eligible for induction after writing hit songs for at least 20 years. Jay Z, who released his debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," in 1996, has launched multiple hits in the last two decades, from "Big Pimpin'" to "Empire State of Mind."

www.boyculture.com/boy_culture/2016/10/gaga-has-had-it-up-to-here-with-generous-comparisons-to-madonna.htmlGaga Has Had It Up To Here With Generous Comparisons To MadonnaJesus, Lady Gaga is just incapable of being humble. Ever. Her single flopped—and I liked it!—and now, when asked about Madonna, which admittedly is a troll-worthy question, she has this to say: You know what, Gaga? You're not a genius. You're not David Bowie, you're not Stevie Wonder, you're not Michael Jackson, you're not Prince ... and you, not-so-nice lady, are not Madonna. Lady Gaga has real, and measurable, talent, but she is stuck on her own hype that she is some kind of musical wunderkind, that what she does is utterly unique and spellbinding. When she was reading Born This Way, it was heralded as the Second Coming—and wound up being the Second Coming of “Express Yourself.” When she was preparing to foist ARTPOP on us, she raved about how genius it would be, a hubristic move that bit her in the ass. And she has not learned. She simply can not see herself in the proper context, can not accept that to be compared to Madonna is a compliment. She raved about Madonna before their rift, and now acts like Madonna is some kindly grandmother with whom she shares no common ground? Madonna plays instruments and is a songwriter. She has had a hand in every aspect of her career, including cooking up many of her own melodies. She is an unsurpassable live performer. She has done too many things first and best to sweat it when the latest throne-coveters approach, like Nosferatu, witchy fingers elongated in the shadows of deception. But whether you don't care for Madonna, even if you think the rivalry is tired (IT IS), you've got to admit Gaga's defensiveness in the above clip is churlish and beneath her. “Nice lady?” Fuck off. I guess it's not so surprising that so many of her followers take time out to wish AIDS on Gaga's critics—I have the many receipts!—considering she really does emanate assholishness underneath her fake veneer. Okay, I'm officially back off her. Man, I wish we could just go back to her The Fame Monster era and start over.

Well, I think that when your first response is to sling insults (veiled or otherwise) at someone I think it is rather transparent. What she should have said was something along the lines of "Thank you. Madonna has been an amazing trailblazer and I hope I can achieve a longevity as she has" and left it at that.

Thanks to chartfreak:
"I wouldn't make that comparison at all. I don't mean to disrespect Madonna... she's a nice lady. And she's had a fantastic, huge career. She's the biggest pop star of all time," Gaga said. "But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I'm a producer. I'm a writer. What I do is different."

Kinda ironic that the day Gaga makes these statements, Madonna is nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

She's never going to live these comparisons to Madonna down now and she knows it. Her ultimate undoing in that regard was Born This Way. Had it not been a blatant rip off I don't think people would still be drawing these parallels. She could laugh it off in 2011 when she was on top but everybody cools off eventually.

Yes, Ms. Germanotta is apparently bit uninformed with most of those last comments. And, really, the "Born This Way"/"express Yourself" issue is one of the reasons as to why she's become so defensive. Aside from gushing about her in interviews before that, M was one of the artists she thanked in the liner notes of The Fame.
At least she has no issue acknowledging the level of her pop-star status.

She is in desperate need of attention (again)
The lady (gaga) doth protest too much

Far be it for anyone to accuse Gaga (or any pop star for that matter) of being in desperate need for attention in a Madonna thread. For all Madonna has accomplished, she's had her fair share of... needy moments as well.

^ Roger Friedman is and always has been jealous of her in the same vein as the relentless Piers Morgan.

I disagree with what Gaga (whom I'm a fan of) and this other guy are saying. M is a great songwriter.
The producers Madonna has worked with are incredibly talented, but if you listen to other non-Madonna tracks that Stuart Price, Leonard and Orbit etc. produced, they are, in my opinion, not as good as what they did with Madonna. And I think it's because she added her own touch, her own experience and her own pop-sensibility and personality to the lyrics AND the melodies. She didn't just have them craft everything for her, and then go in the booth and sing. Please.
