Can't believe I'm saying this but I think I would have much rather watched the Grammys pre-show than the actual ceremony. At least there was actual awarding going on (including for some of the categories I follow which were apparently too minor for the telecast).
Props to Beck for the surprise win though.

4. Overt sexism isn't cute. The fact you think I'm being sexist is what's sad. The fact that you can't tell you're being sexist is what's sad.

The fact that you can't tell you're being sexist is what's sad. If and when you all have daughters you'll understand I live in a house full of girls, and I know that I wouldn't rely on someone else to take care of my own kid. That's not their responsibility. She's a grown woman, she can do what she wants!

The Grammys are becoming just like the Oscars when it comes to the winners. So predictable the last few years. I think going in everyone knew Sam Smith was going to win all these awards. Once again, Taylor Swift coming out with 0 wins at the Grammys for the 2nd year in a row. Lackluster Award show. It seems the Grammys only nominate the hit songs for the TV ratings.

So Taylor Swift was snubbed for everything when she actually deserved to win! lmfao, "Shake it Off" got the exact amount of Grammys it deserved.

The fact that you thought Taylor was going to win is whats hilarious. Next year Taylor will have a full slate just like Sam Smith this year. She released her album after the eligibility period. It wasn't something to draw ratings. Shake It Off being nominated is one of those instances of a song being nominated just for TV ratings. Deal. She got enough awkward camera pans and stage time to burst your little Tumblr and Vine hearts Swifties.

iI wasn't expecting Taylor to win anything. I can see her taking Pop Vocal Album next year. The Sam Smith sweep was pretty much what I expected aside from that I thought that Sia would edge him out for either record/song or pop solo.
The Beck win was surprising, even with it being the "credible" (ugh) option, it really seemed to be so well aligned for Beyonce. Sia not getting anything was surprising as well, with all her industry connections.

Yet another unnecessary collaboration. Did anyone look forward to Annie Lennox? Me! Sit! So did I! I am a lifelong stan of Annie and it's a treat to hear her perform live on a show like this when she illustrates why she is legendary. could never get into Annie Lennox. she makes alot of weird faces when she sings. Barbra Streisand always did that and it worked well for her too. I liked Katy's performance I did too.

I loved Rihanna's performance: she sounded so good and her outfit was on point; Kanye and Paul did amazing as well! I loved the clap-along part at the end with everybody singing! Not really feeling her red carpet look, but she looked cute I guess, lol. And she won her 8th Grammy, 4th for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, so proud and happy! :'(

What was Ariana thinking when choosing the song? That didn't promote anything

You guys talked a lot here, no time to read it all back. I just finished watching back all the performances. I loved Ariana, Ed & the others, Hozier, and Katy :) Madonna did good as well. Didn't expect a lot from her tbh. ETA: I forgot to mention Rihanna. How could I :o it was probably my favorite performance. And Paul was singing, too ETA: Can you hold them, Sam?

Surprised Beck won, but not upset about it. His album is legitimately great, and although I preferred Beyonce I dont think she was "robbed" of the award. I highly doubt Kanye has ever even listened to Morning Phase so he can kindly sit down and quit jonesing for Bey. He does her no favors with his antics.

Morning Phase so deserved the win! I'm happy for Beck. But for some reason his record company is pushing Heart Is A Drum. I like it OK but there are so many better songs on the album. Waking Light can move a grown man to tears, and of course Blue Moon was an actual hit song. If all you know about Beck was his performance last night, do yourself a favor & play the whole album! No, it doesn't have any party jams, but it's beautiful.

Congrats to Beck. Well deserved. Happy for The Band Perry getting Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Unsure on Paramore, Glen Campbell and Rosanne Cash winning.

While I personally find myself enthusiastically supporting Beck in the wake of what happened, I'm not sure the point about Kanye doing Beyonce "no favors" is true. Several major media outlets (Billboard and Mic are examples) are complaining using just as much hyperbole as he did in his post-show rant. Plus, in completely shifting focus to Beyonce, he has made the world forget that Sam Smith was also considered a serious contender for this award -- and was nearly as much of a favorite on the Vegas lines as Beyonce. No one's talking about Beck robbing Sam Smith - it's all "Beck robbed Beyonce."

Yeah, most Grammy performers are told what to perform. Rarely does an artist get to chose what they perform.

If and when you all have daughters you'll understand I live in a house full of girls, and I know that I wouldn't rely on someone else to take care of my own kid. That's not their responsibility. She's a grown woman, she can do what she wants! Correct she can. But when she sings about going down on guys in a limo then sings gospel music at the Grammys she opens herself up to criticism. It'd be awesome if all teen girls had strong parental figures to guide them but that's not reality. And Beyonce is a huge influence on teen girls and she knows she is. In my opinion she should take that responsibility more serious.

It's ludicrous to ask a woman in her 30s to edit her work for teenagers. She didn't audition to be a schoolteacher.

No one's talking about Beck robbing Sam Smith - it's all "Beck robbed Beyonce." If Sam had won I can't help but think the reaction would be a resigned disappointment. With Beck, it feels like it's Beyoncé's award to win but it doesn't feel undeserved that Beck got it instead. It's one of those things where winning can help or hurt you and in this case, I don't think Beck winning this will hurt him at all whereas if Sam had, it might have been too much.

OK....What did Kanye do ? Anyone ? Being the poor loser when something doesn't go his way as he always does but then again what really do you expect from someone who gets into the Kardashian clan.

And he wasn't really joking, backstage he said that Beck should give his Grammy to real artists or something like that. He really needs to learn what to say in front of cameras.
