What is Blurred Lines airplay record? From the threads: 1. ROBIN THICKE – Blurred Lines f/Pharrell & T.I: 282.806 (+ 1.094) - August 19 1. ROBIN THICKE – Blurred Lines f/Pharrell & T.I: 282.795 (-0.011) - August 20 1. ROBIN THICKE – Blurred Lines f/Pharrell & T.I: 282.795 (+ 1.616) - August 21 ??? 1. ROBIN THICKE – Blurred Lines f/Pharrell & T.I: 284.036 (- 0.375) - August 22 Based on the above, I think the high was 284.411 on August 21.

So "Happy" is likely 2-3 days from breaking it. Wow. Still going with 4+ gains.

Top 10 prediction: 1. Happy (this week the lead over the next song will shrink to a still very large 45% approximately) 2. Dark Horse (probably its last week in the top 2) 3. All of Me 4. Talk Dirty 5. Pompeii 6. Team (as much as I wish it could hit the top 5 I don't think it will do it...maybe next week) 7. Drunk in Love (streaming is keeping it in the top 10 for so long) 8. Counting Stars 9. The Man 10. Timber Let It Go will fall to #11 and Best Day of My Life will rise to #12, maybe top 10 next week...lack of streaming is holding this song back (it's pretty much top 10 in sales and radio) and #selfie will probably be in the top 15 this week...I think it's headed for #10 :/ And it looks like an identical top 10 to last week's except for Let It Go falling out of the top ten from its #9 spot and The Man replacing it... 1-8 and 10 are exactly the same (even though I was hoping for Team to hit top 5, something Demons failed to do...and just like with Demons (held back by Royals) Team is being held back by a fellow alt rock song *gasp*) This is also my prediction. A boring week tbh. I'm hoping my prediction about Aloe Blacc's song jumping up there is correct! I wanna see that song get into the top 10 and I'll be happy! I wish Team could hit the top 5 though :/

Gary Trust @gthot20 1m TWO billboard Hot 100 stories going up today! One on the entire top 10, another on a song that - look at that - debuts in the top 10 .

1. PHARRELL WILLIAMS – Happy: 276.412 (+4.072) 2. KATY PERRY – Dark Horse: 211.958 (+1.209) 3. LORDE – Team: 196.750 (+0.003) 4. JOHN LEGEND – All Of Me: 173.005 (+4.212)
I really can't remember when I looked at the 4 most spun records on radio and could say wow I love them all. 3 great songs and 1 very good song! Loving the marked improvement. How things have changed from the resentment I had from 2009-12 when I'd side eye radio.

I wonder if it's "We Might Be Dead By Tomorrow" by SoKo from that first kiss ad that went viral early last week.

I think he means "debut" as in its first week in the top ten as opposed to its first week on the Hot 100.

I think he means "debut" as in its first week in the top ten as opposed to its first week on the Hot 100. No he said debuts in the top 10 I think it means it debuted on the Hot 100 at a position in the top ten No it wouldn't be #selfie because it was already on the chart. He would've said "jump into top 10" instead of "debut in top 10". And The Man is more likely to get into top 10 this week than #selfie anyway

What could possibly debut on the chart in the top ten, though?

What could possibly debut on the chart in the top ten, though? some extremely viral YouTube sensation that didn't hit radio or make it onto itunes top 100 causing us to overlook it? Maybe you're right though and Gary just used poor choice of wording and meant that a new song jumped/climbed into the top 10 rather than actually debuting in the top 10...

I'm sorry but i cant be mad at radio for playing the hell outta Happy! That song is literally perfect and evokes feelings. If radio is gonna play the hell outta song they picked the right one love hearing music on the radio, where were all you when Roar was smashing, didn't hear s**t from y'all other than YASSS QUEEN. Well? Roar didn't peak at 320 million AI, and it didn't spend 10 weeks at number one I love Happy, but personally I don't feel it's good enough to take the record from Blurred Lines. At least Mariah will get knocked down another spot I guess... Happy hasn't peaked at 320 million AI either, nor has it had ten weeks at #1 on anything yet. But even ignoring that for a moment, Roar dominated pop (in fact, looking through the Roar thread, its peak AI on pop was almost exactly what Pharrell's current pop peak is now, and it broke the weekly spins record). A complaint about Happy's airplay at this point without a similar complaint about Roar - or really any Katy #1 - would essentially be a) premature as we have yet to see where Happy will actually max out on pop; and/or b) a complaint about the fact that Happy i a crossover song that has 2-3 other 'home' formats that a purely pop smash will almost never have. Which is understandable if you're the kind of person who regularly listens to ALL of those formats but if you're predominantly a pop listener you are not hearing "Happy" any more than you do anything else that has saturated pop before. And goodness knows there were a a good amount of people who were actually salty and disappointed that Roar peaked too quickly and 'only' got two weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 b/c it actually had competition from two other big hits at the time. Seems kind of silly to then flip and complain b/c Happy has reached the same point and is lucky enough to not have any concurrent competition from anything else.

I'm w/ Duca. if The Man climbs into the top 10 this week, it's essentially making it's debut in the Top 10.

^ I sure hope so...I'm not ready for a viral YouTube sensation with minimal sales and airplay debuting in the top 10.

Why would he call attention to the song - by saying "Look at that" - if it's just another song moving into the top 10?

This is EXACTLY why this new formula doesn't work. Nobody watched that video because of the song, they watched it because they wanted to see strangers kissing. The song just happened to be playing in the background.
