I'm glad we're getting a Class of 2021. I wonder if we should read anything into Reba making the announcement. Wasn't she going to announce the 2019 inductees, but got sick the night before?

Disappointed Tanya was not on the list again. IMO she should be in there before some of the ones inducted in the last few years.

Yes the need to get them in! Ray could’ve waited another few years since he’s already passed. However it was still great to see his name called! Maddox Bros. & Rose are the highest priority for me now just so Don can be here to see it happen. Tanya’s stature now still feels like she’s going to be the new Hank Jr. till she gets in. Yes there’s others like Jerry Lee who could go first but as we’ve discussed he’s got some baggage they’re probably avoiding. Dwight is also starting to stick out as someone who needs to be in. I’m a little surprised The Judds went before him but he’s gotta be near the top now.

Disappointed for Tanya, as it really feels like her time, but thrilled for The Judds. They are certainly worthy additions to the Hall.

Don Maddox (the last remaining member of Maddox Brothers & Rose) has passed away at the age of 98. There were a lot of people hoping they would get in the Hall Of Fame before Don died, which unfortuantely did not happen.
R.I.P. Don Maddox
Based on the rules, I'm not sure if Maddox Brothers & Rose can get in next year, but I hope they get in within a couple years.

So, to start off: it is extremely unfortunate what happeneed to Naomi Judd. It was emotional watching Ashley and Wynonna up on stage during the Judds' induction ceremony. I pray for their healing as a family. R.I.P. Naomi Judd. But I was coming on here to mention that discussions about 2022 inductees has been going on for over a month: www.savingcountrymusic.com/2022-country-music-hall-of-fame-picks-predictions/I hope that August has not become their new permanent announcement time. I think it works much better to announce it in spring, the have the ceremony in the fall. But putting that aside, who do we think gets in this year? Dwight/Tanya? Keith/Jerry? Trisha/Linda?

I hope Tanya is announced for this year. IMO she should have been inducted over some of the others the past few years.

There is a bunch of people I'd like to see get in on Tuesday:
Tanya Tucker, Dwight Yoakam, Maddox Brothers & Rose, Keith Whitley, Stanley Brothers. And I'd really like to see Crystal Gayle get in before Loretta passes away.
I just hope not to see some out-of-left-field choice jump the line. There is enough of a backlog as it is.

I’m so focused on Tanya, but there are a lot of worthy candidates.

There are so many artists that I would love to see get in, but I think the combo that would give me the most satisfaction this year would be:
Modern: Keith Whitley Veteran: Tanya Tucker Non-Performer: Nudie Cohn

I think Keith Whitley is a shoo-in for this year. I've also heard some chatter about Clint Black being considered, but he might be a few years off yet. Also, can we finally get Tanya Tucker in, please?!

I’m kinda curious why so many think Keith Whitley is a shoe in for the HOF. He didn’t really have a long career because his life was cut short. Mickey Gilley who recently passed had almost 20 #1’s and was the whole urban cowboy movement. He’s not in.
I’m not saying Keith shouldn’t be in but to me it’s not outrageous that he isn’t in yet.

Keith Whitley finally getting in is well deserved. He may have not had a lot of hits in his career but the impact he made on many in his short time is the reason he should be getting in.

Very glad to see Keith Whitley make it into the HOF. Also glad to see Jerry Lee Lewis get in while he is still living. But like everyone else, I wish it were Tanya instead.

I am not happy at all with this year's class. Hopefully Tanya will be next year, but I have been hoping for years now. I have lost faith whoever votes for this will ever let her into the HOF.

Really ecstatic about Keith and Jerry Lee!!
For Jerry he’s been up there with Hank Jr. and Maddox Bros & Rose as being passed over for far too long, with him getting in and Hank a few years back I’m hoping this means MB&R are up next!
Jerry is a controversial figure and I get why he was passed over so many times but there was never a doubt that he’d be in someday, and I’m glad anytime someone gets in while they’re still alive and with us. With he and Hank Jr. getting in I’m thinking this will make it easier for other controversial artists to eventually get in.
Then there’s Keith, another choice that seems to have a lot of people doing a double take just because his career was “short”. His work in bluegrass before he made a bid for country was a good base that shouldn’t be overlooked. However even without that I think of him like I think of Patsy or Hank Sr. Gone too soon but what an amazing impact they had. His influence for the 90’s boom is undeniable. I grew up listening to Keith so for me this is one I’ve been longing for.
And then there’s Joe. I personally have nothing against him overall. His contributions as an executive are as undeniable as Keith and Jerry’s. However I think this was not the year I personally would’ve picked him or another executive. The talk about Nudie Cohn was where I was hoping they’d lean given his Ukrainian background it would’ve made a nice statement. I guess I should be grateful it wasn’t Mike Curb.
I’ve seen chatter about the lack of women, I do want to see more women get in. Anybody who knows me knows I prefer female vocalists overall however I don’t think I could make an argument for Tanya over Jerry for veteran (Tanya being the most talked about). Jerry hasn’t been my prediction or pick usually because he’s so wrapped up in controversy and if it hadn’t been him I fully would’ve wanted Tanya in his place. I think she’s got it next year.
For modern I could’ve seen them go with Patty Loveless, Martina McBride or Trisha Yearwood, and no doubt their careers have been bigger than Keith, but I think influence wise they’re about the same. It was just a matter of time and I can feel comfortable knowing their time is coming soon enough.
I am one who likes the balls 3 inductees a year process. However I do think every now and then they should do a bigger group like in 2001 just to relieve some of the backlog.

They need to induct more artists each year. There is already a huge backlog, and it's only going to get worse.
It should also be noted that in the last 10 years, only 2 women acts - Dottie West and The Judds - have been inducted. In that same span nearly 30 male acts have been inducted.

Keith's album "Don't Close Your Eyes" is one of my all-time favourite Country albums. "I'm no Stranger to the Rain" and "When You Say Nothing at All" are on it. I'm glad he is getting inducted in spite of his rather short career.
