I personally think no, if it's not music related, why should it count for your post count?

I say yes because lots of posts in those areas of the board have detail and meaning and are actually well thought out posts. Most of the issue topics are full of posts in which the poster actually has a good point to convey and they put a lot of effort into their posts. As someone said about it before, people have more interests than charts and Pop radio. News and entertainment and just overall random topics are near and dear to some people. Plus, lots of posts in this section of the board still relate to music.
Also, can we please drop the whole Games post thing? It's over. It's done. At the time I stood for the fact that they should have counted. Personally I like that they don't count now because it encourages me to post elsewhere if I am wanting to increase my post count. It also reduces the time I spend in that part of the forum, which before the change took lots of my time.
Also, this is like the third time you have brought this up again or something. Just let it go. I'm not trying to be mean here.

For those of you claiming not to care, why did you care when it was the games section?

I don't think anyone actually did. If post counts counted in the games section, I doubt anyone would be protesting.

For those of you claiming not to care, why did you care when it was the games section? idk but can I borrow your charger? How come?

Is this really an issue? There are much bigger problems in the world like the possibility of war in Russia and Ukraine, war in the Middle East, and the question of whether Fantasia will ever learn to read and find a man who isn't married.

I don't care because its a stupid topic, just because the world is going to hell in a basket doesnt mean I don't care about other trivial s**t. Hell I stay tuned to Disco's department store drama, like every other day!
icant, music is discussed in RT and it seems like with the amount of other more important s**t left to the wayside here as it is right now, you think staff has time to read through topics to see if there's music relevancy or not.
i don't even care if posts counts don't count , i don't care about post counts hell i deleted 3 f**king times. I would love to appear to have less posts anyways!
The next topic I see author name that I will respond to is RIP.

I couldn't care less about where post counts count, or about post counts in general.* But I'm fine with the results of this poll serving as the basis for whether Lounge posts count toward the post count just as the other one was for Games forum posts. *okay, maybe I do pay attention to my post count occasionally. Then again, it's debatable whether that's me caring about my post count or me simply being a huge numbers nerd.

Because many posters feel that a person's post count gives him or her some degree of status, post counts encourage activity. They also may give more established posters a feeling of investment, keeping them coming back. This in turn makes the board more interesting and active.
Of course, it's not good to have posters deliberately trying to run up their post counts by posting a bunch of non-substantive material. That seemed to be the case with some posting in the Games forum.
The next question is whether we want to encourage music-related postings over off-topic posting. I don't see the need or reason to do that. This is a music discussion board, but it's also a community, and the discussions in those forums have a lot of value. I would personally like to see a few less threads about eating ass, especially on a board populated by a decent number of high schoolers, but that's just me. I would suspect that the average post in the Lounge is no less substantive than the average post in the Pop/CHR forum, which cannot be said of the Games forum.
