Britney likes Classical music such as Journey and Chris Isaac ...also says she's been listening to a lot of will.i.am. Britney, NO. First, the Iggy collab, then Orbit's going off at the mouth, now she's bringing up Will again. This project is already losing me...

Will.i.am ruins careers. IDK how he's made an art of turning collaborations and work for other artists into his own vanity projects.

I remember this all too well, it was 7 years ago today, 1-3-08 (left pic), that Britney Spears refused to relinquish custody of her sons to her ex-husband's representatives. After police arrived at her house they noted she appeared to be under the influence of a substance and she was hospitalized. Immediately, the press had an obituary all written up. The next day, her visitation rights were suspended at an emergency court hearing, and her ex was given sole physical and legal custody of the children. Then on January 31, 2008, she was committed to the psychiatric ward and put on 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. In July 2008, she was able to receive visitation with her two little boys. Later that year, she said, "I see my babies and say ... you have to believe in God. How can these two babies be here without there being a God?" She has come SO far and overcame SO much, all while in the public eye. This is one of the many reasons I've looked up to her... before all this, it was her dancing, singing, music, personality etc. but after all this... it's like HOLY SCHNAPPS! If you can go through all of this and have some sanity, (let alone in front of THE WHOLE WORLD), I am so inspired and it gives me hope that one day I will get out of my own mental illness struggles! Being a stan since 2001 I have never seen her happier than she is now and having her release Britney Jean, her best album, truly shows she's happy! #ProudOfBritney

(Alien, Tik Tik Boom, Work Bitch, and Passenger + 1 or 2 more I can't remember right off the top of my head)

I don't think BJ is a bad album. Not even close to being her best though and it lacks any real iconic Britney songs. Even her weaker albums always have really strong highlights that stand out in her catalog. BJ lacks those moments for me, so it's mostly just very listenable album tracks.
The only song on it that's completely worthless to me is that turdfest with Jamie Lynn. I don't use the bonus tracks either, so nine solid, listenable tracks is nothing to sneeze at. I think the overall sloppiness of the era didn't do the album any favors for a lot of people either.

I'm not saying BJ is her best, but some fans scoffing at Work Bitch, Hold on Tight, Now That I Found You, Passenger, Til It's Gone, Perfume, Alien and Brightest Morning Star is crazy to me. I don't love TTB or BA, as she's done that before (and much better). The aforementioned tracks though stand up to her best work in my opinion.

"BMS" is straight cheese to me. "Hold On Tight" is probably my fav of the three and could have taken the place of "Shittin' On You" for all I care. "Now That I Found You" sounds like some kind of David Guetta/Avicci retread, I can't get into it. Although I can't argue that it should have been on the album and probably been a single given her choices.
"Alien," "Perfume," "Body Ache," "Til It's Gone" and "Passenger" are the highlights for me. I'll take those songs over a lot of the FF and Circus album tracks tbh.

BMS transcends that category by a lot for me. Although the vocals are, granted, a little cutesy.

"BMS" isn't near that level of horrendousness. I just don't like the twinkly production and the lyrics, hell, just calling someone your "brightest morning star" is cheesy to me. As you can tell, I'm not a very sentimental person

"Brightest Morning Star" is SO cute! It's very catchy and I loved it on first listen. "You are the light of my beautiful life!" Awe. I love that one.

This dialogue on the cultural impact of Britney Jean is one of the best things I've seen all year!

Definitely Britney Jean is NOT a bad album in any way, granted it's very underwhelming but not bad at all
Work Bitch and Passenger alone shit on so many careers !!!

It's fine to have opinions and it's fine to disagree lol, it's nothing personal at all.
The conversations around the album are pretty tired though. Honestly I can read every post on this page and tell who said what about the album without even looking. Which, yeah there's not much to talk about, but the constant over-defensiveness and over-criticism is getting stale. Just imo.

No. It's about him having his own opinion, and then you two sitting there making fun of it. You can hate the album, but you don't put someone else down for having a different opinion than you.
