This might be the first clue we've had -- Blair and his show are a Cumulus-exclusive thing, which could suggest a big roll-out for Reba on the Nash Icons stations as well as the Nash Icons BMLG imprint. I still think there's an album coming, though. As for "mainstream" country radio, though, I really don't see them embracing Reba all that much anymore. Today's playlists are way more about hooks and big sounds and songs that can entertain people. It's an entirely different demographic and I just don't know that they have a place for Reba's music. I can't tell you the last time I've heard a Reba song on country radio...it's probably been at least 2 years. I can confirm the new music is on the Nash Icons label. That could be a great thing. Reba as the face of the new imprint could work very well.

Lmao, I would die if she was trolling us and it's nothing exciting or new. I mean she has been promising a new website for over 5 months now! Hahaha!
In all seriousness, I haven't been this excited for something in a long, long while! Be it a new song or album or anything really, I'm ready and completely excited!
My queen is returning!!!! :'( <3 <3 <3

I think a move to Nash Icon is a great thing. BMLG brings a lot to the table but to me the important thing is its a partnership with Cumulus. There are 52 stations between Nash Icon and Nash FM and a deal would essentially mean her music is now gonna be picked up by 52 stations because it's to Cumulus's benefit that her music does well.
Random question though....do Cumulus stations report to Billboard or Mediabase or is it a mix?

Random question though....do Cumulus stations report to Billboard or Mediabase or is it a mix? It depends on the market, but the stations that are monitored report to both panels. I think about 13-15 Cumulus stations are on the Mediabase panel and I think it's the same for Billboard. The rest are probably small market stations. Airplay from Cumulus stations that have been flipped to Nash Icons no longer counts toward the main Billboard Country Airplay chart (although this wasn't a huge change, because only a couple of the stations flipped to Nash Icons had their airplay previously tabulated for the chart anyway). I think only KJJY Des Moines, WKHX Atlanta, and maybe 1-2 other Cumulus stations that were flipped to Nash Icons had previously been on the Billboard panel. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether Mediabase still counts the airplay from Nash Icons stations when they tabulate their chart. The reason Billboard doesn't is because the Nash Icons stations don't play enough current music...I think only about 25% of their playlists are new singles. The other 75% is composed mainly of 90's and 00's big hits from "icon" artists, and a few recent hits are sprinkled in as well. I don't think that percentage of new music is high enough to be counted by Mediabase either, but I haven't heard if the Nash Icons stations remain on the panel yet or not. Anyway, even though that airplay is no longer tabulated for the main charts, I suspect that, in time, we'll get a separate chart that reflects airplay on the Nash Icons format.

From Aircheck Daily
Hot Air: No one is commenting officially, but could Reba's 8:30am CT announcement tomorrow (10/21) on America's Morning Show be that she is the flagship artist of the Cumulus/Big Machine Label Group's Nash Icon label? The partnership was announced in May and other than the hiring of a GM, there's been near silence about the label component to Cumulus' initially successful launch of the new format. Odds are that changes in the morning as Reba teases new music on a new label or, as the media alert says, "the next phase in her career."

Lead off single has been chosen! How do you know this? Source? Her label :) Nobody was letting the title slip which was understandable. Wasn't said if it would be mentioned tomorrow, or played. ALSO The time for tomorrow's announcement was changed. The announcement will come at 9:30 in each time zone. So if you have a local Nash station and you're not on the East Coast you can tune into Nash FM 94.7 at 9:30 Eastern Time to hear the announcement so you don't have to wait till it hits 9:30 in your time zone

So that's it? Not even the name of the first single or timeline for when the single will be released?

So that's it? Not even the name of the first single or timeline for when the single will be released? Honestly disappointed from what she actually announced, there was all this hype around the announcement, so for her to just sign on air seems kind boring and not needed. So, single, album soon, any time frame? What is going on? No clue what the time frame is on anything. I was told from the label that the album was finished and the lead single has been picked. So I'm not sure whats going on, Reba said 3 songs have yet to be recorded for the project. The lead single may have been picked already because Turn On The Radio was picked before all the songs had been recorded.

Sounds promising. Reba revealed that she has already recorded 11 tracks with producers James Stroud and Tony Brown for a new album. As far as what that will sound like, longtime fans should be pleased. "When I played them for my team they said, 'That's the Reba music I grew up listening to,'" she explained. "What I do is I find the songs that I love, that touch my heart, and hopefully when I sing them they touch your heart, too. That's what I've always done, that's always been my formula. So, these are the songs that touched my heart. And I had a blast in the recording studio recording them. Now we'll see what everybody thinks about them." No official release date has been set, but Reba did reveal that a tour will follow the album. (countryweekly.com)

One of the best concerts I went to of all time (and by far the best Reba concert) was about 10 or so years ago in Reno, NV. She was playing at an outdoor venue and my girlfriend and I decided to go on a spur of the moment (it was about a 4 hour drive). She opened the concert with those lines pretty much. "For all my long time fans, you guys should like this concert. I am going to play all the hits." It was just such a great show hearing some of her classic hits. I'll always remember that concert fondly.

I was told that they are looking to release the single before christmas, and they don't seem to be in any rush to get music out. They are also thinking about another type of contest prior to the album. Similar to the Mission Reba.

I'm excited to hear new music from Reba. I've seen her in concert a handful of times, but some of her best shows were in the mid 90's, especially during her "Read My Mind" era. She just went all out on stage during those tours. I'm also hoping any new music sounds like vintage Reba. I haven't been a huge fan of anything released from 2003's Room to Breath onward to her last release in 2010 All the Women I Am (with the one exception of the Tony Brown produced Keep On Loving You). Her strongest releases always seem to be with Tony Brown producing versus Buddy Cannon and Dann Huff.

I am so excited for new Reba music! Glad that's signing with Nash Icons and that they're going to be putting out new material from her soon. I became a big fan of her with her last two album releases, so I'm looking forward to a new album (finally).

Reba has only released 3 solo studio albums this century. That's incredible to think about when before that she rarely even went 2 years without an album between 1978 and 1999. So much good music that she could have released in that missed time is a sad opportunity missed. It's better late than never I guess and I can't wait to hear what the Queen comes out with next!

If they're going vintage Reba with the material and bringing Tony Brown back for production, let's get Jon Small back for those epic Reba videos!

I was just listening to NASH Nights Live and a short interview from today aired. Just about all the same info that was already known and said they're going in next week to cut the 3 other songs. She also added that she has the excitement level is back for her, which she hasn't had in awhile. She told a little story about remembering back to when Shawn Parr played the last song on the old LA country station, KZLA, and how sad she was listening to that and what a blow it was to country when that station went off air.

I would've liked a little more concrete info, but overall I'm pretty happy with today. I especially like that they're making this into a big deal that she signed with Nash Icons. It makes me hopeful that there will be a lot of promotion and awareness for this projet, which will hopefully lead to a hit.

I really hope they fight for hits in the charts. It'll break up some of the terrible bro-country pollution.
