Expect an announcement on Oct. 21 t.co/gGV2bD7t04I truly hope you are serious, becauee this would be the cruelest statement ever if it isn't true. But if the Queen does come back there will shall be celebrations, ok maybe not but it'll be great. Just hope radio will play her.

I'm torn about whether or not I hope this is a surprise full album. Well obviously I want a full album soon, I don't really want her to drop one digitally out of the air like that. I still buy physical copies instead of digital ones, so I wouldn't want to have to buy it twice.
I am hoping for the announcement of a brand new single, with a new album to hit stores in November or December.

Staff at Valory have said their is an album in the works, at this point they have finished recording the album. The single was "coming very soon" and when contacted to confirm if the 21st is about music they failed to respond which is their favorite game when you've hit the nail on the head. Hopefully the follow trend, other speculations is that the websites actually launching which has been pending since July! I'm still sticking by the website launching along with an album or single because Starstruck is gonna want bring people to the website, yeah we'll all check it out first but they want you coming back and before this they had nothing to keep you coming back where an album will!

I love Reba (her music, her acting, her show) but she has no where near the clout (anymore) to pull a Beyonce. I hope she announces a new single and goes about promoting it the normal way to drive us sales. Can't wait!

They finished recording their album and Apple paid them millions to make the album a free exclusive before releasing physical copies of it.

The album will NOT be released on Valory Music Company Was she dropped? That was never directly asked, but it was implied that she is still on Valory this album just won't be released on Valory.

I have reason to believe it's an album. Whether that means it's dropping next week or that she's simply announcing it for release in a few more weeks, I don't know. I agree with matty005 in that Reba doesn't have the clout to "pull a Beyonce" and drop an album out of the blue and then expect good sales and decent radio support. However, with that said, I don't think the conventional route of single release followed by an album 12 weeks later would have worked anyway (to get a hit and generate strong album sales), so I'm fine with this approach, if they do indeed decide to release an album out of the blue. Basically I just don't see a Reba single doing much at country radio anymore so it shouldn't matter that much when she releases the album. They'll definitely need to drum up some buzz for it somehow, but I think they could do enough even without radio support. I'm also not suggesting that Reba shouldn't release a single. A new Reba single would likely still get some airplay at country radio (again, I doubt it would do much; I personally don't think it would crack top 40) so I don't think it would hurt to release a single...I'm simply saying that the conventional top 20-or-better approach followed by an album really only applies to consistent radio hit-makers, and unfortunately I don't think Reba is in that group anymore. Also, it's entirely possible that a new Reba single could be warmly received by Nash Icons stations. Regarding her label situation, Big Machine Label Group's Facebook page shared Reba's announcement video yesterday: That was posted on BMLG's own page, taken straight from Reba's page (and it includes Reba's little 15 second video in which she announces the surprise...I just couldn't figure out how to post a video from FB on here). Anyway, the video isn't much...it's simply Reba saying that she has a little surprise announcement coming on October 21. So lots of "if's" here...IF it's an album, we don't know whether or not Big Machine/Valory will release it or whether it will simply come from Reba and her own team at Starstruck, but in any case, I doubt that BMLG would share Reba's video if she was no longer with the label. Of course, that's IF it's an album. It could be anything, although I have a hunch that it's an album and that it will be released in a sort of unconventional way, with buzz generated by non-radio platforms. Just a hunch, though.

I'm still hopeful for top 20.

Reba is still on the Valory Roster. She has released material on ABC Studios as well as on Starstruck Studios, having been told by a BMLG staffer that the album won't be on Valory makes me wonder a lot. I didn't expect them to share the video if they weren't involved in the project. But the Nash Icons is something that slipped my mind and I asked if it was released on Valory.....which still means Nash Icons is a possibility. Also I was reminded the CMAs aren't too far away as well......

I'm still hopeful for top 20. I was just having a discussion about this last night with someone. I mentioned that Reba could be releasing a new single very shortly for the first time since late 2011. The person said "Will it do well on country radio", and naturally I said "no". Then I thought about it. After mulling it over I think that it would most likely crack the top 40 but not do much after that. Her career on country radio took a sharp turn downward with "If I Were A Boy", "When Love Gets A Hold Of You" and "Somebody's Chelsea". I also think country radio has changed that much in three years since she was last on country radio. The initial buzz would gain it some traction but in the end my gut says that her commercial success on radio is behind her.

This might be the first clue we've had -- Blair and his show are a Cumulus-exclusive thing, which could suggest a big roll-out for Reba on the Nash Icons stations as well as the Nash Icons BMLG imprint. I still think there's an album coming, though. As for "mainstream" country radio, though, I really don't see them embracing Reba all that much anymore. Today's playlists are way more about hooks and big sounds and songs that can entertain people. It's an entirely different demographic and I just don't know that they have a place for Reba's music. I can't tell you the last time I've heard a Reba song on country radio...it's probably been at least 2 years.

Well, I guess there will be a bit of irony if her last bona fide hit is Turn On The Radio.

I'd loved to be proven wrong here but I don't have much faith in country radio's willingness to play Reba...the same goes for people like Alan Jackson and Martina McBride. I don't think Trisha is going to do much either (I see "Prize Fighter" peaking around #35 at best).

Please let it be a spin-off starring Van and Cheyenne.....sorry, thinking out loud, lol.
I'd love it to be new album. I can't wait for more music from her. Hopefully it might have the 'Malibu Country' theme song on it.

One of the best shows in the last 10 years for me (right up there with The Office, Modern Family and Friends). Perfectly cast (the ensemble cast was amazing) and really just a great show. The reruns are on all the time. If you have never watched, I think people will be pleasantly surprised.

^I agree, I loved Reba, except for maybe the last season. I wish I could say the same about Malibu Country.
I hope she has new music coming. I wouldn't even mind a Duets, part two, if nothing else.

^I'd love a Duets part 2. It'd still be new material. There'd be so many artists I'd want to hear her with.

I'd prefer a new solo album, but I'd be happy with a new duets album also. I'm excited to see what the announcement will be.
