JL44's Top 44 as of 02•20•15Intro: Ellie Goulding reigns a 2nd week on the Top 44 with LMLYD thanks to a 9 point gain and Uptown Funk is still strong at #2. "Do" now holds a .9% lead over Uptown Funk. (The difference last week was a mere .09%). And it's looking like the 2 may be locked in the top 2 for a while, because UF currently is 61 points above #3 (a 5.8% lead). The song dominating that spot is Time of Our Lives by Pitbull and Ne-Yo, which returns to its peak.
Sugar falls a spot to #4. Ne-Yo is still #5 with She Knows, I Don't Mind goes up a spot to #6, and Style returns to its peak at #7. The Weeknd returns to the top 10 with Earned It (now #8, peak #6) thanks to a sudden increase on the Hot 100. Thinking Out Loud is steady at #9 and falling to #10 is FourFiveSeconds.
In other news, Sam Hunt moves up a spot to #12 with Take Your Time and is well on track to becoming the 8th country music act to reach the Top 10. (The last country song to have reached the Top 10 was Talladega, just a few weeks ago. That peaked at #9). Prayer in C moves up 2 spots to #13, Riptide reaches a new peak at #18, and Elastic Heart reaches a new peak (#23).
6 new songs debut this week and 1 re-enters the chart. The highest entry at #26 is Somebody by Natalie La Rose and Jeremih and thanks to the Grammys, the re-entry is Chandelier by Sia at #43.

Nice, another week at #1 for Ellie! What do all the colors mean? : I would think red means the song went down (in terms of positions) green means it moved up in positions, dark yellow means it is in the same position as last week, blue means a debut, orange means a re-entry and pink means it is the longest chart-sitter.

Intro: Ellie Goulding tops the Top 44 for a third week and extends her lead over Uptown Funk, which spends a 3rd week at #2 after topping the chart for 9 weeks (T-2nd longest of all time). It also spends a 13th week in the top 3 and a 14th week in the top 5.
Could Uptown Funk be setting some records here soon? It's very possible. Although it missed out on the longest reign record (14 weeks), as far as records go, Fancy holds the record for most weeks in the top 3 (16 weeks) and #thatPOWER holds the record for most weeks in the top 5 (20 weeks).
As reported earlier this month, the top 2 has been locked in the past 5 weeks and may stay that way for at least a few weeks to come.
Staying put at #3 is Pitbull and Ne-Yo's "Time of our Lives" and speaking of Ne-Yo, his latest single, "She Knows," ft. Juicy J, goes up a spot to reach a new peak at #4. Falling down a spot to #5 is Maroon 5's, "Sugar."
Taylor Swift's "Style" reaches a new peak at #6 and The Weeknd's "Earned It" also moves up a spot to #7, bringing Usher and Juicy J's "I Don't Mind" down 2 spots to #8. Returning to the top 10 is Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney's "FourFiveSeconds," moving up 11-9.
And also entering the Hot 10 (again) is an artist we all know too well: Ariana Grande! She zips up 30-10 with her latest single "One Last Time," which becomes her 5th top 10 hit in the last 10 months. Should this reach the top 3, she will be the only artist in JL44 history to have had 5 songs reach the top 3.
In other chart news, Riptide reaches a new peak of #14, Somebody reaches the top 15, Chains reaches the top 20, Ne-Yo debuts at #18 with "Coming With You," Ayo reaches the top 20, Shut Up and Dance reaches a new peak of #21, and Truffle Butter reaches a new peak at #28.
NOTE: You may notice there are no more points to show on the chart. That is because... I got rid of the points system. The reason why is because in the past 4 months that I've had it integrated in determining the Top 44, it has caused more problems than I thought it would, the main one being time consumption. So I just got rid of it. 60% of this chart now is determined on my own preferences, 30% of it the Hot 100, and 10% of it relies on Pulse's preferences. The new format also will once again allow more non Hot 100 songs to enter, bringing even more variety to the Top 44, which I know a lot of you like. Thanks for your understanding everyone and as usual, thank you for following! Glad to see Ellie at #1, Style, Earned It, Riptide, Shut Up And Dance and Outside rising and One Last Time entering the top ten! Sad to see you get rid of the points system :'( I find it makes for a much more accurate chart. But it is ultimately your decision and I respect that :) great chart in any case!

Intro: A first in JL44 history: All, but one song went up or down, almost everyone stayed in the same position compared to last week. And also... there's a new #1! Well, not really new...
That lucky song is Uptown Funk, who has come back and made history! Thanks to a boost of popularity over the weekend and a bit of luck, the song has returned for a 10th week at #1, and becomes only the second song in JL44 history to have a double digits reign. Should the duo reign another 5 weeks at the summit (which is unlikely, but hey, anything is possible!), they will top the current record of 14 weeks held by Black Widow by Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora. With 15 weeks in the top 5 and 14 weeks in the top 3, Iggy and will.i.am should be fearing the duo as they are still going strong on the board and are approaching their records fast.
With the return of 2015's Top Song so far, it knocks Ellie Goulding off the summit and returns her to #2. However, it is not done yet, as UF holds a 3 point lead over LMLYD. The top 2 lock down enters its 6th week, and with no one there to challenge the 2 as well as no one to hold down the #3 spot, #3 once again is up for grabs and the winner this week was Ne-Yo and Juicy J's "She Knows," which has reached a new peak now at #3.
Alright! Enough of the top 3, let's continue to the other fab 7 in our top 10...
The Weeknd reaches the top 5 for the second time in 4 months as he reaches a new peak with "Earned It," now at #4. After 3 weeks at #3, Pitbull and Ne-Yo fall to #5 with "Time of our Lives". Falling a spot to #6 is Maroon 5's "Sugar," yet it is showing signs of rebounding in the near future. Moving up a spot to #7 is Usher and Juicy J with "I Don't Mind," falling a spot to #8 is Taylor Swift's "Style," moving up a spot to a new peak at #9 is "One Last Time" by Ariana Grande, and Rihanna, Kayne West, and Paul McCartney wrap up the top 10 with "FourFiveSeconds," falling a spot to #10.
Numerous songs this week reached new peaks, including "Somebody" (#11), Riptide (#12), Chains (#15), Ayo (#16), Shut Up and Dance (#17), Talking Body (#20), Heartbeat Song (#21), and Truffle Butter (#24).
Finally, 4 new songs entered the chart, the top 2 entries being Zedd and Selena Gomez's "I Want You to Know" (#19), and Carly Rae Jepsen's "I Really Like You" (#28). Recent KIOKI winner "Post to Be" also enters the chart as well at #36.

YES Uptown Funk getting that double digit # of weeks at #1!!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong lol I love Ellie's song a lot and I'm glad it got to #1 but I'm not gonna lie I was sad thinking that UF wouldn't get 10 weeks :( glad that both happened though! Also really glad to see Earned It, One Last Time, Riptide, Shut Up And Dance, Talking Body, and Geronimo climbing and nice to see Zedd and Carly debuting (though I have yet to hear Carly's song lol). Great chart once again, Jake! :) Hey, I did say earlier UF could return to the summit should LMLYD quickly burn out (since it's a soundtrack song), but the tide turned this week and it worked out for UF. As always, thank you Mark!

I hope that doesn't happen for me before it reaches #1 because I really want Ellie to get her second #1 on my chart! :( I would hate for it to get stuck blocked like "All Of Me" was one year ago :(

Intro: Another close race this week, but Uptown Funk notches yet another week at #1. Mark Rowson and Bruno Mars have now spent 11 weeks at #1, if somehow they last another 4 weeks at the summit, they will defeat Black Widow's record of 14 weeks at the top. They now have spent 15 weeks in the top 3, 1 week away from tying Fancy's record of 16 weeks, and 16 weeks in the top 5, 4 away from tying #thatPOWER's record of 20 weeks. While UF continues to chase the record books, Ellie Goulding spends a 4th week at #2 and her second in a row after reigning 3 weeks at the summit with "Love Me Like You Do." The top 2 lock-down enters its 7th week and the #3 spot is unsecured once again. This week's winner? Another 50 Shades of Grey song, "Earned It," by The Weeknd, which reaches a new peak at #3.Will someone come soon to break the lockdown? Right now, the immediate answer is no, but if any song has a chance to do it, should "Earned It" continue its success on the Hot 100 and on this chart, it is very possible. But then again, it could very well go to someone else, as we see going on to our #4 song. Some of you may have not expected this, BUT... anything can happen! It's Ariana Grande's "One Last Time," zipping up 9-4. Also going up a spot to #5 is Maroon 5's "Sugar."With the rise of new singles comes the downfall of others. Ne-Yo and Juicy J fall 3 spots to #6 with "She Knows," going up 3 spots to #7 is "FourFiveSeconds" from Rihanna, Kayne West, and Paul McCartney, falling 3 spots to #8 is "Time of our Lives" from Pitbull and Ne-Yo, and each going down 2 spots is #9 "I Don't Mind" and #10 "Style."
Also notable: Moving up to a new peak of #12 is Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance," Tove Lo moves up to #16 with "Talking Body," and "Heartbeat Song" from Kelly Clarkson reaches #19.
3 new songs enter this week and 2 re-enter. The highest debut goes to Sam Smith and John Legend with "Lay Me Down" and the Hot 100 rule brings back "Trap Queen," previously eliminated last week, the highest re-entry this week.JL44's Top 44 as of 03•13•15TW:LW:PK:WKS01:01:01:16 Uptown Funk by Mark Rowson ft.
