One little tidbit before the chart update next hour:
www.billboard.com/articles/news/6443891/2015-oscars-song-nominees-sales-boost"Common and John Legend's "Glory" from the film Selma was the biggest seller, registering 27,000 downloads the week ending Jan. 18, a rise of 158 percent from the week previous. "Glory" benefited from Selma receiving its nationwide release that week, as well as the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The track debuts at No. 25 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart dated Jan. 31.
It is No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100."
UPDATE: Actually, nevermind, the url is already uploaded.
www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100/2015-01-31Here's the notable dirt
-Love Me Harder isn't bulleting, but only falls 8-11 like clockwork. Will it return yet again?
-Centuries hits a new peak of #12. Could it go top 10 in time for the album launch next week?
-The Hanging Tree gets ever close to its peak, moving 14-13. Will the Rebel Remix be what aids or kills its momentum?
-I Don't Mind finally makes a lofty lift into the top 20 23-17.
-Ghost misses the top 20 but bounds 28-22. My forecast now is going to be a peak of around #13 within 2 months.
-Time of Our Lives is finally beating out the natural peaks of supposed "lower-tier" singles like Wild Wild Love (stalled at #30) and Fireball (stalled in 30s, technically had a peak at #23 due to a streaming spike) by moving 35-24
-Elastic Heart obviously falls, but is still well in the hit zone by only stumbling 17-29
-Riptide finally makes a new peak of #30. Can it steady itself to become sleeper hit of 2015?
-Despite sale pricing reverting from .69 to .99 (and now for next week 1.29), I Lived makes modest advances 34-32. Can it keep going from radio power?
-Love Me Like You Do actually bullets this week 45-36. With the Earned It video now out, can it advance more by proxy?
-The Heartbeat Song makes a primarily sales-based debut at #37.
-GDFR finally makes the hit zone 49-38. This is Flo Rida's first hit since I Cry in 2013, following the failure of previous singles of The Perfect 10: Can't Believe It (which only bubbled) and How I Feel.
-Making the top 50 this week: I See You (51-45), Prayer in C (53-47), Sun Daze (52-49), She Knows (56-50)
-The Zac Brown Band proves their sales power as Homegrown debuts at #48. This is a notable improvement from their single from this point last year, "Sweet Annie", which climbed briefly into the top 50 and was already in its death throes by February.
-After about 10 weeks of floundering in the 45-48 range, Try Me leaves the area 47-53. Also receiving the boot: Sledgehammer (44-51), Shotgun Rider (48-55), Beg For It (42-57), Ayo (40-72), Rather Be (46-X), Stolen Dance (43-X)
-Outside beats its sales peak, now approaching the top 50 76-58. With Blame now at the fringe of the hit zone 32-40, Outside seems primed to take over soon.
-Sales for Earned It were improving through the week (even moreso now that the video's out), and it recovers on the Hot 100 82-70. Could it beat #49 with the streaming next week?
-Fall Out Boy's grat track Uma Thurman debuts at #73, a better peak (and replacement on the chart) than Irresistible (77-X).
-From its sale pricing to 99 cents, All About It bounds 100-78. With further saling to 69 cents, will it go further or did a disproportionate amount of buyers jump the gun?
-European band Sheppard beats their old peak for Geronimo 93-88. Could this also become a sleeper hit?
-Along with Glory (#92) and previous mentions, the other debuts this week are Say You Do (102-96) and The Body (101-98), along with a re-entry for I Mean It (X-100) which matches its old peak at the edge. Is this going to be another Homegrown Honey and I Won situation?
-Also gone this week are Somewhere in My Car (84-X, recurrent), Neon Light (99-X, recurrent), Blank Space's I Prevail cover (90-X), Best Friends (87-X), and Close Your Eyes (86-X)
-Set up to go recurrent next week: Hold You Down (60-68) and Touchin' Lovin' (58-62).
