I'm typically not a fan of young artists but this song has something special. This song is able to make me think back and place me in the events of her song and that's what I feel differentiates a mediocre song from something greater. A song can be well sung, well produced but without the ability to control the emotion in the listener what's the point. That's why I like this song!

She's now up to #10 at Mediabase, which Country Aircheck will confirm tomorrow evening.
Does anyone recall if 'Tim McGraw' made the top five at either CA or BB?

I'm so sick of this song. During my ride this wknd I heard it WAY too many times and it was just slightly under mediocre to begin with. Yes, I actually listened to some country radio! :)

I have heard from a pretty reliable source that the third single will be "Picture To Burn." It has already garnered a decent number of spins on mediabase. She really needs an uptempo. All these ballads make me feel like she is turning into a maudlin radio artist.

Picture to Burn is played very heavilly on my station in Dallas, The Twister, that plays some non singles, so that's probably where its getting a lot of its airplay.
I would think for certain it would be Picture to Burn, but they took it off of her myspace and put up Should've Said No so that's the only thing that's throwing me off. I would love a new radio mix of Should've Said No.

One of the reasons I want "Our Song" is because it's been in the top 30 of the iTunes country chart for a while now (it's currently at #25). "Picture To Burn" is at #66, and "Should've Said No" is at #99.
Anyway, I'm glad "Teardrops On My Guitar" is doing so well. It's funny to read the first page of this thread and see most people thinking this wouldn't do well. Here we are five months or so later, and this has a chance to beat the peak of "Tim McGraw."

'Tim McGraw' did peak at #5 at Mediabase, and this gorgeous tune could match or exceed that, once the housecleaning in the top five takes place, excluding Mr. Urban & Mr. Chesney, who figure to hang around awhile.

They took Should've Said No off her myspace and readded Picture to Burn, so I guess its safe to assume it is the third single. It's not one of my favorites, but I think it'll do decent.

It's a good album, regardless of whether you judge her as an adult artist or a teenaged artist. I'm surprised at the depth and maturity. (I'm also surprised that Taylor's six feet tall, but that's beside the point.)
I'm glad to see, also, that she's 2 for 2 in hitting Top 40 on the Hot 100.

I heard this and didn't it was THIS song. I didn't know until I was curious about the song cause I heard Taylor being talked about on here and so I watched the video and was like...OOOH! haha. The video is really sad. I downloaded the song and I love it. Such a pretty song. The video made me love the song even more. I think its kind of a sad video.

I don't see why they shouldn't - it's technically a top 40 hit (on the Hot 100 - #40 last I checked) and I think it would fit perfectly in all mentioned formats. |
