Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars Top Hot 100; Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney Near Top 10

'Uptown Funk!' rules for a fifth week, while the super trio vaults with 'FourFiveSeconds,' giving McCartney his biggest hit since 1986.

Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, tops the Billboard Hot 100 for a fifth week. Meanwhile, Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney blast into the top 15 with "FourFiveSeconds," marking McCartney's highest-charting single in 28 years.

As we do each Wednesday, let's dig into the key numbers throughout the top 10 (and more) on the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100.

"Funk!," released on RCA Records, spends a sixth week atop Digital Songs with 365,000 downloads sold (up 7 percent) in the week ending Feb. 1, according to Nielsen Music. With its continued reign, Mars rewrites his longest stay atop the chart (among his seven No. 1s); it passes "Grenade," which spent five weeks atop Digital Songs in 2011.

"Funk" leads Streaming Songs (up a monstrous 63 percent to 24.5 million U.S. streams) and the subscription-services-based On-Demand Songs (5.7 million, up 4 percent) for a third week each. Fueling the advances: a full week of viral activity after Texas-based Maceo Smith New Tech High School teacher Scot Pankey led students from six classes to perform a full dance to the song, filmed all over the school in a single shot. (The clip was posted on YouTube on Jan. 24.)

"Funk" continues to sweep the Hot 100 (adding top Airplay and Streaming Gainer honors for a fourth and second week, respectively) and its three major component charts (Digital Songs, Streaming Songs and Radio Songs), as it leads Radio Songs for a second week with an 11 percent surge to 170 million in all-format audience. It joins Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" as the only songs to top all four tallies simultaneously for at least two weeks; "Bass" did so on the charts dated Oct. 11 and 18 last year.

Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" keeps at its No. 2 peak on the Hot 100. The ballad stays at No. 2 on Digital Songs (221,000, down 4 percent) and rises 3-2 on Streaming Songs (11.9 million, up 6 percent) and 6-3 on Radio Songs (121 million, up 16 percent).

Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, Hozier's No. 2-peaking "Take Me to Church" holds at No. 3 (and crowns Hot Rock Songs for a 16th week); Taylor Swift's former seven-week Hot 100 leader "Blank Space" is stationary at No. 4; and Maroon 5's "Sugar" sweetens the top five (6-5) in its third week on the Hot 100. The third top 10 from the band's album V (following the No. 6-peaking "Maps" and No. 3 hit "Animals") remains at No. 3 on Digital Songs (150,000, down 10 percent); rises 9-8 on Streaming Songs (7.6 million, up 4 percent); and rockets 35-16 on Radio Songs with a 33 percent swell to 50 million.

In the second half of the Hot 100's top 10, Trainor's No. 4-peaking "Lips Are Movin" rebounds 7-6 (after parent album Title opened at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums chart); Sam Smith's "I'm Not the Only One" reverses course (8-7) after reaching No. 5; Nick Jonas' "Jealous," which reached No. 7, edges 9-8; Swift's former four-week No. 1 "Shake It Off" tumbles 5-9; and Fall Out Boy's "Centuries" holds at its No. 10 peak for a second week.

Just outside the top 10, Rihanna, West and McCartney blast 54-15 with "FourFiveSeconds." Following its first full week of availability, the fab three's track vaults 19-4 on Digital Songs with a 160 percent increase to 138,000 downloads sold, good for the Hot 100's top Digital Gainer award. On Radio Songs, the collab bounds in at No. 36 (35 million in audience, up 47 percent). With the song's official video released Tuesday, streaming should further its fortunes on the Hot 100 released next week.

Notably, McCartney (who sings backup and plays guitar on "FourFiveSeconds") scores his highest-charting Hot 100 hit since 1986, when "Spies Like Us" reached No. 7 that February. (At the time, West was 8 years old. Rihanna would be born two years later.)

Bruno and Mark must have a MASSIVE lead on TOL right now. I'm guessing bewteen an 80-100% lead. I had no idea about that viral video but I went and watched it and I was not disappointed.

On a side note, I have FINALLY found a Rihanna song that I don't hate. FourFiveSeconds is a very good song IMO. If only Kanye wasn't in it...
