This is not looking good at all. The song is dropping on itunes, not too much, something that it could be easy to solve with better airplay, but this looks like it was peaking on airplay.
Hopefully the album will be able to hold, and maybe a second single more radio frienly do the hard work. AT least this put him again on the radio and the hot 100 (i suppose it will enter this week)

Which song would make the best 2nd single?‘Rumors’ with Tove Lo sounds like a radio hit to me.

The verses are good, but don't sound very suitable for pop. The drop is pretty random sounds very UK-house like (like Gecko). The only good drop is the last one because there is no slow build up, and his vocals help. I'm not sure if it has peaked, but if it has, people should be happy that it managed to do this well! It should chart this week, which is better than Octahate and (presuming higher than its peak) Goodbye. He hasn't had hit of this success on pop since I think If I Had You in 2010

Yes, it's a risky choice as first single. Octahate is a good comparission because it was a risky song too. Goodbye in my opinion didn't do better because the label used a wrong strategy. There was a good reception to the live performance but it was too late.
The problem with the single with Tove Lo is the fact that Tove Lo is releasing a single now, and two singles of a new artist at the same time generally are not a good idea (not everybody is able to pull a Sam Smith, who made three songs climb the charts at the same time and got three top tens in a row). If Ghost Town was able to hold enough time to see how the new Tove Lo is doing it will be better (Meghan Trainor is going to be in a similar situation right now, and frankly even with her success i don't know if she is able to pull it)

I don't think Ghost Town is done so I don't see them moving to single 2 just yet. It's moving up the chart in HAC so I'm hopeful it can get there at least top 10. I also think there will be a second push by the label in pop. Wasn't Fall Out Boy stalled at pop for a while there and now the song seems to moving up again?

Dylan :) omg yas at the "Gecko" shoutout ^_^ Anyway, i agree that this is a risky single, but this gives more diversity in his discography, so it's not a bad thing. + i think this can help to introduce deep house in the US market.

I don't know if FOB stalled but it has had consistently high and improving sales. It is not unusual for a song to continue a climb on HAC while falling on Top 40. This song may be a better fit for HAC with its sophisticated lyrics.

What's really bizarre, in Houston, you would think it's a Top 5 song it is on so much between our two pop stations and Hot AC. It's a solid song.

I actually didn't like the song until I bought the album and heard it in the context of everything else, oddly enough. It's not my favorite on the album by any means (that would be Another Lonely Night) but it's very good. Sad to see it struggling so much.

So much love for "Another Lonely Night" but do you really think it's a radio hit? I think he needs something undeniable and "Rumors" feels like a radio hit. "The Original High" is another good single and he performs that song live really well.
My favorites are: ALN TOH Rumors After Hours- This song is my #1 favorite. The vibe brings back a lot of memories for me from back in the days. Lucy TISI
To be honest I really love the whole album and my favorites change constantly. As a huge fan I never felt that way about his other 2 albums. I usually would skip songs.

A bit alarming the album is down to #72 after less than 2 weeks. They may be forced to move to single #2 sooner than planned...

GT seems to have had an iTunes boost, has there been any promo?

ITunes is not the most important sales indicator. Duff went to #1 on iTunes for the week and ended up #5 on the chart. The normal drop is 65-70%. I expect Adam to be the same. I doubt they change singles. I think GT is going to end up doing fine.

If you think the album dropping to #72 on itunes is 'fine' after less than 2 weeks you are sadly mistaken.

And it's quite easy to know because there are a lot of examples of albums that were the most sold on itunes and there won't even near to be number one on the official chart. There are groups and artist that are champions on the digital tracks but some of the people who sold more albums like Taylor Swift, Adele or Sam Smith are very strong on physical sales. I watched the itunes albums chart last week several times, and Hilary Duff was always ahead of Adam, and he ended selling more albums than her

That was mainly due to weeks of front loaded preorders, from his fanbase. As of now iTunes is a key indicator of sales health and TOH falling to #72 in 2 weeks is a big problem- GT as a single isnt supporting the album sales enough, which will create some pressure to bring forward single #2. Its pretty unbelievable some people are writing off iTunes sales as somehow irrelevant. But hey ho :0)

I can’t say I’m thrilled that the album had dropped so much on iTunes, but it’s not really surprising. His fans bought it in the first week and Ghost Town isn’t a big enough hit to sell the album. I still think GT has potential so I hope they keep pushing it for at least a bit before moving on to the next single. But if it just doesn’t click with the public I think there are several songs on the album they could release as singles that could help sell the album, so hopefully it ends up with decent sales numbers even if it is dropping on the charts now.
