Positive: 60.3% (about middle of the chart, actually - for comparison purposes, it's right on par with where "Fight Song" is)
Negative: 20.8% (ordinarily when this is in the 20s, it trends higher - but this is actually the fourth-lowest on the entire chart; only "Beautiful Now", "Stitches", and "Photograph" are lower)
Favorite: 12.3% (eeeek - only "Should've Been Us" is lower)

So, while this is trending to be something good to hear on the radio, it leans more strongly as a "like" than a "love". But at the very least, this should net this song some extra life.

Pop Score is, essentially, the combination score the results from the equation into which Potential, Positive, Favorite, Negative, Heavy Burn, and Familiarity are inserted. Nooooo idea of what that exact formula is, but Pop Score isn't its own separate rating - it's the net result of that combination.

Nooooo idea how they come up with the "Potential" rating, either. TBH that's the one that's probably the most "arbitrary" figure; I wouldn't really put too much stock into that one. Everything to its right - Positive and so forth - is what's more meaningful.

After taking another glance at the callout chart again...this makes a lot of sense actually.

Potential is a higher number than Pop Score for every song...and given this explanation, I'd be inclined to think that that's always true. And the gap between the two figures is smaller for songs with higher Familiarity.

So I guess another way to put it might be that Potential = Projected Ceiling. (And, accordingly, it can't be included in the Pop Score formula I mentioned above. ) But, for wonderstruck94: This figure, like the others, can change from week to week. Example: Right now Adam's Potential rating is 76 - it's not going to always stay 76.

So if I'm understanding this, Potential is the projected "max" pop score the song could achieve with 100% familiarity of the song, which is why with a song like Bad Blood, the Pop Score is 88, the Potential is 90 and the familiarity is 97%. One would assume that when the remaining 3% of the radio listening public becomes familiar with the song it's pop score will reach 90?

Did I get that correct?

This is assuming the only thing that would change from here on up until the Familiarity reaches 100 is...well, the Familarity increasing till it gets to 100. It never actually works out like that, though, which is why you'll eventually see its Potential adjusted based upon what the other factors (Pos/Neg/etc.) change to.

But those other factors give a more immediate idea of the kind of reception a song is getting. :)
