i've been torn over whether they should pull the plug and just release another single but now im leaning more towards letting "ghost town" ride it out until it really starts to tumble. it's almost top 20 and i don't know if adam will be able to get that high again with another single. i wish hot ac was more on board though, his music fits that format so well. there is no reason to pull the plug on a song that is continuing to get radio adds and increase in airplay 4 months into its run ...I'd guess they plan to ride this out and push it as far as it can go through the summer/first few weeks Sept. and then launch something new that he can promo in the fall when he returns from his South American tour with Queen ...hope GT can break into the top 20 (or higher..)before its done.... hac has supported this song pretty well...

He's supposed to have one song as a televised performance on NBC for the Volley Ball Championships on Aug 22nd. Don't know how much of a boost that might give but I assume it will be GT that he performs.

This song is #9 on overall iTunes in Germany this morning and rising. It stayed between 11-15 for weeks and weeks. It finally made it over the top 10 hump today.

Never know but it most def. won't come close to touching what The Voice did in Australia a few weeks ago. I'm just amazed at how this song has been 'floating' in the same exact markets/countries (and US radio) for several months yet in other major markets it tanked out of the gate. Far as US radio- even though it's not getting mega great updates, I disagree with those saying radio is not supporting this song lol. It's like on day 110 and still gaining- even if just baby steps. I can't remember a song in recent memory when a song is barely in the top 100 on iTunes and been out this long yet still gaining. I'd think w/in the next week or so if it doesn't pick up on sales, it's just very rare and pointless for radio to support ANY song on any level if it's just not selling much. He must have stellar team and/or certain radio stations must like him personally. Thing is I have not even heard this once on any station. Wonder if it's mainly non Clear Channel stations spinning this or if most of the spins are late at night?

Good to see this still climbing slow and steady, hope it becomes somewhat of a sleeper hit.

Wonder if it's mainly non Clear Channel stations spinning this or if most of the spins are late at night? I've heard this at all different times of the day, both day and night in NYC area..Heard it on Z, ktu, plj, fresh, bli and once when I was up in the Hudson valley area on k104 (I'm a serial channel flipper in the car...)...all of the major stations around here are playing it at least somewhat (except bmp, but that's nothing new -- they've never played anything of his ever)...the majority of the clear channel stations have added the song ....the iTunes position is a bit baffling, but in fairness it has been all over the place the past few months; it hasn't just hung around the low 100s/90s non-stop...its really been a roller coaster ..its been up to the 30s then down to the 80s/90s then back up to the 30s/40s, then back down again...but there is a second clean version of the song then when combined increases to overall iTunes sales placement....I'm guessing that the repeated trips back up the itunes chart have helped this song stay alive longer than it would have if it had just lingered at its current placement for 3 months...it would be nice if they would ever put the track on sale for .69 or .99 cents, but to date they haven't done it

There are actually 3 versions on itunes, one for each of the album versions plus 6 remixes also with a remix album.

AI correlates more strongly to sales and streaming numbers -- and is probably the better measure of radio impact. "Ghost Town" is pretty close to the same rank on both now -- #23 in spins, #25 in AI. .

If you only look at Ghost Town his AI increase is great, however if you go and look at the surrounding songs his AI is very puzzling because he is about 4 million less than all the songs surrounding him.
There is obviously still life left in Ghost Town, which is great because I'd love to see it make the top 20 at least before they move to single #2

Still think, this has more overnight plays than most, because of the deep house thing... which has impacted sales.

Is this radio forcing it? Do you really think that's going to happen because bigger names are going to start to release new music. The Grammy submission deadline is around the corner. He kinda had his chance over the summer when the competition was weaker.

He kinda had his chance over the summer when the competition was weaker. I don't understand your first question? I think his AI is lower because he doesn't get nearly as many spins as the surrounding songs in peak hours. The fact that he's at the position he is can be attributed to the staying power of the song IMO. Had radio jumped on board full steam ahead like they do other artists this song would easily be in the top 10 already.
As for whether I think he might get to top 20, I don't know which is why I only said I'd love to see it happen, not that I think it will happen.
I'm curious though, what do Grammy nominations have to do with the discussion about his radio stats? Are you saying he missed his chance at getting a Grammy nomination because the song is a slow grower? He got one with Whatya Want From Me and that didn't peak until almost 9 months after its release. Also, how was the competition "weaker" in the Summer with songs from Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Sam Smith, and various other heavy hitters?

I believe the poster means because the Grammy deadline is right around the corner big name artists will want to put out new music to make the deadline for nominations. However isn't Grammy nominations at the end of Aug or 1st of Sept? If this theory was true I would think the artists wanting to jump in under the deadline would have just put there singles out or will be within the next week.

i've been torn over whether they should pull the plug and just release another single but now im leaning more towards letting "ghost town" ride it out until it really starts to tumble. it's almost top 20 and i don't know if adam will be able to get that high again with another single. i wish hot ac was more on board though, his music fits that format so well. there is no reason to pull the plug on a song that is continuing to get radio adds and increase in airplay 4 months into its run ...I'd guess they plan to ride this out and push it as far as it can go through the summer/first few weeks Sept. and then launch something new that he can promo in the fall when he returns from his South American tour with Queen ...hope GT can break into the top 20 (or higher..)before its done.... hac has supported this song pretty well... i agree with you on pop, but it's been pretty stagnant on hot ac for a while now. it currently is barely holding on to its bullet with a +3. i would have thought that format would have pushed it closer to top 10 by now considering how well it fits there.
