Someone once asked, in this thread, what a money push for a song on the radio looked like. This is what it looks like - an advertisement on a radio site (AllAccess) and a push with the big stations like Z100 and KIIS. My guess is that the label has a goal in mind - perhaps something they will use to advertise the next single - "it was top 20 in pop" or "it was on the BB Hot 100 for x number of weeks".
You will now be able to watch the push. Is it just in order to reach a certain goal? How long will it go on? Sometimes after a push a single will take on a life of its own and continue up the charts. Sometimes after a push is over the song will fall like a rock because the push is over.

Happy to see this still going! It really is a great song and a true grower. I've always liked it but over time I have grown to love it.

I want this to go top 20 but it seems unlikely (unless Flo Rida's song is done but it's picking up again). It'll move to 23 tomorrow night once we get rid of 5H and Wiz. It'll probably have a new mid week peak of 21 soon (if it holds) as Silento and Tori Kelly are done. The nearest competitors are Nick Jonas and Macklemore.
ETA, forgot about Taylor

Ugh, this is starting to get really frustrating. I thought it had at least top 20 in it, but it just won't pick up at all really. Needs to start moving a little more or I'm starting to lose hope. Taylor and Bieber will knock it down 2 more spots within a few days.

Ugh. I really wish he would have somehow got a performance last night. VMA's could have really used another solid performance instead of most of the crap they had :/

Even though I don't really care all that much for this, I'm happy it is doing well (or at least better than I would have ever thought). I hope this could at least break into the Top 20. Pop hasn't really given Adam the best treatment since his debut sadly.

Hearing it more and more. It's a slow burner but it grows on you. It's a great fall song. Hoping for a top 20 hit too.

Beyond amazed this is holding up on any level at this point. At best, the song is in/out of the lower end of iTunes top 100. When it's there, doesn't stay very long. It's just not working even w/ whatever limited radio support it's getting. It's like on day 122 on pop so it's kind of unheard of or at least very rare for a song to be so low on iTunes yet still getting somehow getting radio support even if it's minimal. Can't remember the last time/song this happened to. There are numerous songs free falling yet haven't been out 1/2 as long and are way higher on iTunes. Just surprised it's holding on when radio and the record comany most likely aren't making much money w/ the minimal sales. People are saying they're hearing it more/more on big pop stations but the majority are prob. smaller stations or it's mainly getting late night spins. So...I don't agree w/ those saying this is getting minimal pop radio support lol.

So...I don't agree w/ those saying this is getting minimal pop radio support lol. I think the person specifically said they were hearing the song a lot more on KIIS FM, which isn't a small station IMO.
KIIS-FM Los Angeles Top 40
TW- 51 LW- 36 Increase - +15 OVN - 12 AM - 3 MID - 14 PM - 11 EVE - 11 AI - 2.363
The above radio stats show he isn't receiving a significantly larger number of spins overnight than he is otherwise. In fact the majority of his spins on KISS come from Mid, PM and Evening spins.
I assume the label gets paid for streaming and this song has been streamed 50 million times to date. Sales aren't the deciding factor they once were. The song also moved back up the chart to #74 on the Hot 100 this week so it's still showing signs of progress or at least holding steady.

So...I don't agree w/ those saying this is getting minimal pop radio support lol. In fairness, the iTunes position is actually a little better because there are two or three versions of the single charting on itunes...I think I've seen that the two highest versions combined would put the position somewhere in the 70s on iTunes (and of course would have been higher at the various times the explicit version was in the 30s-50s on the chart). And the song has never been put on sale/discounted (which, I just don't understand....) Both Kiis and z100 significantly increased spins (and not just late night spins) over the last week or so..but yeah, its not getting tons of support from the rest of the big iheart stations....and yet, it keep hanging in there, entering month 5...glad he's having a long run with this song, at whatever level

So...I don't agree w/ those saying this is getting minimal pop radio support lol. Could you explain your reasoning there because I can't work out the logic? Wouldn't overnight spins on small stations actually support the argument that it is getting minimal radio support? Don't you have to at least be played in the day time to make any real impact? Isn't support from KIIS or Z100 better radio support than Little Rock unplugged - or whatever the smaller stations are called? I haven't been following much, but I did notice quite low familiarity on call out scores. Wouldn't that indicate minimal radio support too? If radio really wants to support something, you are familiar with it within days because it is spun to death on every station in the country. This song has been out months and many people still don't even recognize it. (haven't seen callout scores for a few weeks so this may have changed).

^i thought low familiarity should indicate the song's not memorable? lol. although with that whistling as chorus, it's sort of unique
if i remember correctly, Another Lonely Night also has an explicit and a clean version, so it will also chart lower than it should on itunes i guess. i wonder when they will send that song to radio. if Ghost Town survives these big releases right now, it might get another chance. (i really doubt it though, as much as i hope this song can do more

Either it is not memorable, or it hasn't been heard enough to be familiar? It's not just that the chorus is a bit unique, it is very repetitive - can't imagine you'd need to hear it very often to remember it. One of the reasons I hate it so much - 'My heart is a ghost town' over and over and over zzzzzzzzz

The song keeps holding on because it is a very catchy and well done pop song that sounds like a good fit for the landscape right now. If the sales were strong I have no doubt it would be blowing up on the format. As for the weak sales, it just kind of has no promotion and it's in a weird spot where even though it's getting airplay, it's really not at the level yet that it's reaching a wide audience. They've been terrible about getting any awareness out in the States. He's essentially a new artist here by this point, they should've treated this as such.
