It's been losing spins for days. Yes it's nice it hit the Top 20 but only because other songs were either being purged or going recurrent.... I wouldn't say it's that big of an accomplishment. Any word on the next single? Actually, it has been within the same range for more than 2 weeks. Perhaps a bit on the low end but not really anything unusual. They have release the next single ("Another Lonely Night") in a few markets, most notably it was sent to radio in Australia this week, but "Ghost Town" is still getting a lot of airplay in Australia -- dropped this week to #25 on the AU Aircheck radio chart. My guess is that it is a few weeks away in the US -- could be mid- to late-October. |

What an exhausting climb to top 20. Wanted this to go top 15, but obviously we don't have the time or energy for that. At least it did something here, which is more than we can say for his songs since If I Had You. Hope that makes it easier for ALN to start stronger and have more of a chance to really hit.

They just need to not sit on their hands, while this hitting top 20 is good the momentum isn't really there given how it only just managed to make in its 19th week when it was already on its last legs. It is eligible for recurrency on October 4. Looks like it will go recurrent that day because it will have two consecutive weeks of negative bullets (unless there is some miraculous turnaround between now and then but that's highly unlikely). It will go recurrent if it is above 40 on the chart on 10/4, which seems likely. If it is below 40 it will get purged. Or at least that is my understanding of the rules (and I could be wrong). The end result is the same -- the song will be removed from the chart either way...but recurrent sounds nicer than purged lol

so if a song gets "Purged" does that mean you will never hear it on the radio ever again? im just confused between what happens to a song when its purged/goes recurrent!

same here. I was reading elsewhere that less than 50 songs have gone recurrent this year so it's not exactly an easy benchmark to reach.

no...songs that are purged are still played and remain on playlists. but there is a recurrent chart (or at least there used to be a billboard recurrent chart; does it still exist) and a chart that includes currents and recurrents. Essentially going recurrent is like getting a gold star for longevity and getting your name on the honor roll for a period of time. but that is basically it |

It's amazing how much it's resisting free falling.
the song did its job, now it's time to release something new and schedule a live tv performance to bust the sales.
I still think he needs a ballad, he really hitted hard with ballads when he was on idol, and i still think a good ballad would put him on another level

Wow. This song refuses to die. LMAO if it makes a rebound. Adam is scheduled to perform on The Today Show 10/7. Good time to launch second single. I'm hoping he'll get to perform twice and give GT a sales boost and while they're at it discount the song too. I wish 'Rumors' was the next single because I feel like that's the smash waiting to happen.

He's got Late Night with Seth Myers, the Today show, and the Fall Fresh or Fresh Fall something or other radio show at MSG Theater on the 6th, 7th and 8th of October then he flies to the Netherlands for a radio show on the 10th. Since ALN is the official single in several European countries and South Africa already I imagine that will be the single here and he will do promo performances on these shows. We think he already filmed a video for it but it's not confirmed.

GT was played as an extra on the Iheart Radio Countdown today. It was played as an extra two weeks ago, skipped a week and back to an extra. I don't think it means anything except he won't fall fast but will go recurrent next week. He should move back up to #22 tomorrow but get passed by 4 songs (at most). He'll be around #26 when he goes recurrent. I am pleased it made top 20. Good run for the song but I always thought it was a better fall song and his label should have waited a month or so to release so it would peak around Halloween. Regardless, Ready to move on to ALN. He'll be back in the US next week and has promo scheduled.

No -- other songs of his have gone recurrent in that format. WWFM peaked at 2 on HAC and went recurrent...it spent a long, long, long time on that chart. I think that IIHY may have gone recurrent as well - it peaked at 15/16ish but hung around on that chart for a good amount of time so it probably went recurrent but I don't know for sure. BTIKM peaked at 17 on hac but theres no way it went recurrent; unlike GT which spent about 3 months just hanging around in the top 20 in that format, BTIKM didn't maintain that position for very long and fell fairly quickly therafter |

BTIKM was purged on 5/6/2012 chart which was I think at 14 weeks if I counted correctly. It entered the top 40 on the 1/29/12 chart.
